3 years on, the 6S is still the best phone I’ve ever owned. Posted: 03 Jun 2018 12:37 AM PDT Anybody that knows me irl would consider me to be very ADD when it comes to tech. I always sell my devices to upgrade to the latest and greatest. Between 2006 and 2015 when I got the 6S, I had 12 phones - an average of one every 9 months. But honestly, I haven't had a reason to upgrade from the 6S. I had always heard about how long iPhones were supported (for better or worse) but I never thought after 3 years I'd have a phone on the latest OS performing exactly the same as the day I got it. Even getting one years worth of updates is pushing it in the majority of the Android world. I had a few month low point after iOS 11 was released where I was getting awful lags, but that is long gone now. No wonder Apple still sells the 6S and SE. This hardware seems to be rock solid futureproof. Other than the shiny newness of the iPhone X interface, I don't have a legitimate compelling reason to upgrade anytime soon. [link] [comments]
I just bought a second hand iPhone 6S off ebay and it gets hot very easily, should I be concerned? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 05:25 AM PDT It looks like new and battery capacity is still 100% (it was described as 'like new' but not new) but it seems to be getting hot much quicker than any other Apple device I've owned (although I don't really remember). Is it cause for concern? And if it is will it cost a lot to get fixed lmao [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Jun 2018 05:49 AM PDT Do you think the phone's home button is a little more clicky than it should? I mean it feels deep to push and very fragile and loud. Anyone out there with a broken home button? [link] [comments]

Cracking sound in earpiece after update ti 11.4 iPhone X Posted: 03 Jun 2018 05:29 AM PDT I've been experiencing some cracking noise in my earpiece during my phone calls after updating to 11.4 This was not an issue at all before. Has anyone experienced this? [link] [comments]
Today my Relaxing mix featured a song that pretty relates to WWDC Posted: 03 Jun 2018 05:19 AM PDT Pretty cringey in my opinion, but worth listening for the laughs! https://itunes.apple.com/it/album/got-my-mac-on-with-iphone-3gs/321344557?i=321344586 [link] [comments]
Stock reddit app runs in background. Posted: 03 Jun 2018 08:12 AM PDT Not many people know this as I've seen many people posting screenshots stating usage and standby the same. I myself had that problem for a month or so until I figured out it's stock reddit app. So if you are having the above stated problem just force exit the app when you leave it or switch to Apollo as I did as this problem has existed for quite some time with no fix from the developer. Is it possible to switch between Giphy and Tenor on Whatsapp? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 07:07 AM PDT When I search for GIF's it searches Giphy's database, but some friends (also iPhones) have to use Tenor. They want Giphy, because more content. Is the only option to download the app / keyboard or is there a way to change it? [link] [comments]
New iOS 11 user. How do I move 2 or more apps into a folder at the same time? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 10:03 AM PDT I have heard this was possible in the beta versions of iOS 11. Now that I'm on this firmware at last, the procedure of "tapping" an icon while holding another to moving them didn't work. Was this feature removed? [link] [comments]
Prompts Ask For Emails That Aren't Mine To Sign In To Itunes Posted: 03 Jun 2018 09:45 AM PDT Full disclosure: I used to have a jailbroken device but have since moved away from the scene and enjoy my 7 Plus as it is. With my backup restore, I get five prompts to sign into iTunes as various emails used to crack apps. I would love to have these disappear for good as it is annoying the frequency in which they pop up on the screen. Is there something I can do to remove these? All the apps on my phone are legitimately purchased now. [link] [comments]
No longer can delete recents in iMessage? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 03:26 AM PDT A few months ago I was able to go into iMessage, type in a letter, and all the people who I texted popped up with an 'i' next to it, which let me delete them since I no longer communicate with them. Now, I have a bunch of group names that I'd like to delete but I don't see that option anywhere when I go into iMessage. Is it hidden somewhere in the settings or is it no longer an option? :( [link] [comments]
What to do with AppleCare+ on used phone I bought? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 08:59 AM PDT I bought a used iPhone 7 Plus 256 gb off Swappa for cheap and it still has AppleCare+ until September. I don't want to just sit around and wait for it to expire, so how can I use it? The iPhone itself is in great condition, it only has micro scratches on the screen and the battery is at 93% currently. Is there a way I could completely replace the phone and get a brand new version? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2018 03:53 PM PDT Gmail has a 20 minute delay on incoming emails with the default Mail app. I have around 4 emails and I'd like to know the best one, especially if it doesn't have a delay on gmail. [link] [comments]
Advice needed: Provider switch with iPhone 7+ on apples upgrade program not valid? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 07:48 AM PDT This post is on behalf of my mom. She has an IPhone 7+ leased about 18 months ago through the Apple iPhone upgrade program. She was on T-Mobile and switched to Sprint. I know there used to be an issue with the SIM cards not working on different networks but I read somewhere recently that iPhones after the 6 or 6s shouldn't have a problem as long as the phone gets unlocked by the network. I wasn't with her when this happened and she doesn't explain it well (older parents, amiright? Gotta love them) but she says that her iPhone 7+ won't work on the sprint network and that her only option is to upgrade to the 8 or X (which she doesn't want, I think she's just being stubborn). She says she's worked with Apple, sprint, and T mobile and that it can't be done. She told me that one of the providers went so far as to tell her to consider class action towards Apple for consumer fraud?? Just none of this makes sense. Does this sound right? Has anyone else had success transferring under similar conditions or been stonewalled? Also, please no "just upgrade to the newest phone" or "just don't go Apple then!!" She has an Apple Watch and an iPad and wants to stay with Apple and she doesn't want to upgrade, I'm just trying to find out if there's a fix or what. Thanks!! [link] [comments]

Volume indicator now appears in screenshots Posted: 03 Jun 2018 07:36 AM PDT I noticed that the volume indicator now appears in screenshots. Is this a new feature of iOS 11.4? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jun 2018 07:19 AM PDT Hey I'm new to the iOS family, started with the iPhone 7 last summer and now I own an X Unfortunately starting today I am experiencing an odd bug and I can't seem to find anything in it online. My screen is flickering between black and on? It turns off during use at certain angles as if the power button was pressed but it comes back after 4ish seconds to the screen I was on. My case is not pushing the button down and resetting has done nothing. Is this worth an Apple visit? I'm kind of broke so I can't afford to replace this phone [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jun 2018 07:16 AM PDT Hello if I backup my messages in iCloud and sometime in the future I do a clean reset will the sms also being backed up or only the iMessages ? [link] [comments]
General opinion on jailbreaking in 2018? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 02:43 AM PDT With the 11.3.1 jailbreak seemingly guaranteed and around the corner, I was wondering what's your opinion on jailbreaking overall and especially in 2018. Still worth it? Waste of time? 3..2..1..GO [link] [comments]
A safe adhesive to keep phone case secure? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 06:19 AM PDT I have a slim tpu case for my iphone se, I like it because it provides basic protection while keeping the phone slim. It fits fine but sometimes the edges flap if I grab my phone a certain way. I was curious if there is anything out there to help adhere a case to a phone without damaging the phone and that I could eventually peel off? Either some kind of small thin double sided tape or a lifht washable adhesive I was thinking, but I dont know any offhand. [link] [comments]
Posted this on r/Android and got denied... Posted: 03 Jun 2018 09:38 AM PDT "Android: Desperation Mode?" "Recent iOS convert here after living that Android life for 6+ years (its glory years—large screens, robust XDA. parity with iOS, etc). Just popped into this sub, and it's abundantly clear that the iPhone X caught the guys in Mountain View off guard. There was so much controversy and hate from the Android fanbase when the X was released. I chalked it up to sheer ignorance or bitter rivalry, because I felt surely that any rabid smartphone fan—no matter which side of the fence one sits—would be blown away by the huge paradigm shift that Apple made with finger based gestures along with the semi-passive, seamless nature of FaceID. Now 1/2 year later, it appears that my assessment has been validated just by taking a quick peek here in /r/Android. All these topics on Notches, Finger Gestures, Facial Recognition, Onscreen fingerprint sensors, Missing iOS features here on this subreddit is simply a manifestation of Android playing catch up with the advent of the iPhone X. It's one of the worst times to be a diehard Android fan, because the reality is that Android is a couple generations behind, and I guess desperate times calls for desperate measures. The guys at Cupertino should be flattered, because you know what they say about copying others." Am I in the wrong or instigating? lol. If I was, my bad—I was seriously hoping for a spirited debate. Slow Sunday... Here's a screenshot of my post being removed. lol? [link] [comments] |
