| Youtube TV shows black screen but can hear audio (Apple TV 4K) Posted: 27 Jun 2018 08:04 PM PDT long shot here, but I can navigate the menu just fine on youtube tv, but when I select a show to watch I can hear the audio but the screen is black. if I watch a trailer on the built in movies app it works just fine. I should mention that I put the Apple TV on a Blackmagic 40x40 12G video router, I convert HDMI to SDI, then back from SDI to HDMI again, the micro converters are 4:2:2 and support up to 1080 60p If I take it off the router and just plug directly in the TV then it works, I am just baffled the SDI cable or micro converters would only affect the YouTube TV app and none others. Tried both manual and auto activation. Tried tethering into my phone to see if it was the Internet problem from my house but it didn't work either. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 27 Jun 2018 06:08 PM PDT I have a Apple TV 4K and i don't know if it's just my Apple TV device but the hdmi that plugs onto the Apple TV stays loose. Like it doesn't wiggle or anything but any little pull can unplug the hdmi out of the Apple TV. Is this a defect? [link] [comments]  |

| What do you use your Apple TV for? Posted: 27 Jun 2018 09:46 PM PDT I bought an Apple TV 4K a few months ago and I hardly use it. I end up using my chromecast more often because it supports more apps and is faster and more convenient to use. I'm in Canada and we don't have any live TV streaming services up here. I'm not watching a lot of movies, let alone buying them (I'm somewhat of a pirate when it comes to movies...) So my question, I guess, is: what am I missing here? | Dolby Atmos Not Working - BR2049 tvOS 12 Beta 2 Posted: 27 Jun 2018 08:54 PM PDT Hi Everyone, I'm completely out of ideas at this point. I just bought an Apple TV 4K today in hopes that I could finally achieve Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos at the same time. I have a 2016 LG OLED, a Yamaha a3060 receiver, and I updated the Apple TV to the latest beta. I can not, no matter what I do, get Dolby Atmos to show on my receiver when trying to play Blade Runner 2049 from Apple Movies. I've read several statements on here that Atmos has been working for everyone that have that movie so I bought it for that reason. As soon as I hit play on the movie menu, my receiver says "Decoder Off" and I get PCM and Surround Decode showing on the front of the receiver afterwards. I have changed literally every setting in the Apple TV including turning on and off the Dolby Atmos toggle several times. I don't think it's my receiver or TV because if I take the HDMI cable from the Apple TV and put it in my nVidia Shield, I get Atmos immediately in Vudu. Any ideas or anyone else experiencing this? Edit: Also tried a factory reset for the ATV and tried a Dolby Atmos title in Vudu with no luck. All I ever get on the receiver is PCM unless I force audio conversion on the ATV. [link] [comments]  |
