Seamless & Notchless — A Collection of iPhone X Wallpapers for Seamless Notch hiding Posted: 27 Jun 2018 01:45 PM PDT Hey Folks! I recently put together a whole bunch of simple gradient wallpapers that "hide" the Notch on your iPhone X! There was already something like this, but there were basically two colors, which I didn't really like to be honest so I made around 12 with different colors! Check them out and download them here! EDIT: I've updated the website with @2x images links. The download all folder has both 1x and 2x now included. [link] [comments] |
The long exposure effect for Live Photos is really underrated. Posted: 27 Jun 2018 07:10 AM PDT https://imgur.com/gallery/l2gopl2 Here's what I managed to get on my iPhone 7 a couple of days ago. Edit: For those asking how it's done. Swipe up on a Live Photo and it'll show a selection of effects. Click on Long Exposure to convert the image. Edit 2: Apple's information page on these effects https://support.apple.com/en-gb/ht207310 [link] [comments] |
I don’t know why people say the MacBook Pro keyboards are bad... Posted: 27 Jun 2018 12:12 PM PDT So my day started by picking up my laptop to clear some dust and the space bar just fell out. Just right in to my lap. Nothing looked broken, but it wouldn't re-seat even after a light blast of compressed air to clear out any crumbs or skin cell clumps. Edit: So this story ended with me rushing to a nearby Apple Store and they replaced the key and re-seared the new space bar for me. So I guess I can't totally complain. But still, super disappointed that it happened in the first place. [link] [comments] |

What happened to Apple’s patent on Multi-Touch? Posted: 28 Jun 2018 02:28 AM PDT I was watching the iPhone 2007 reveal and Steve mentions that they've patented multi-touch. How is it that literally every touch screen device has it now? [link] [comments] |
Apple Is Building a Media Platform Like Never Before Posted: 27 Jun 2018 10:04 AM PDT |
Posted: 27 Jun 2018 07:24 AM PDT For those who have this setting activated, do you notice too that the vibration when you unlock your phone is much longer than what it was in iOS 11 to the point of confusing it with notifications? [link] [comments] |
Pinterest’s definition of “2 weeks” is a little inaccurate... Posted: 27 Jun 2018 12:35 PM PDT https://imgur.com/gallery/ic9qjTJ Not only do they not update the update notes (like many apps these days), they don't even seem to know how long two weeks is. [link] [comments] |
Pro Tip - New Dock Feature in Mojave Posted: 27 Jun 2018 06:08 AM PDT The Dock in macOS Mojave now separates recently used apps out to the right with their own divider. Accompanying that tweak is a preference in the Dock panel (inside System Preferences) called "Show recents in Dock". If you don't like the new arrangement, untick this option to go back to the old Dock style. [link] [comments] |
Is iOS battery health overly generous? Posted: 27 Jun 2018 08:47 AM PDT I noticed this on the first release that battery health (beta) was released to the public. I checked coconut battery on my Mac and it told me my iPhone's battery was at under 90% design capacity. Meanwhile, iOS battery heath told me was in the mid-to-high 90s. Today, I made a call for about an hour and streamed some music for another hour and the phone fell to around 50%, that's about what I expect, but then I took it out of my pocket to charge and it was suddenly at 1%. It sat in the charger (USB connected) for about half an hour and it was up to 75%. That's classic battery is failing behavior so I checked iOS battery health and it's telling me I'm at 90% maximum capacity while Coconut Battery is telling me it's 81.9% capacity. Based on the behavior I'm thinking Apple's reading is being overly generous and Coconut is more accurate. How do they compare on your devices? P.S.. When this started happening, I followed some steps I read online about re calibrating by fully discharging, charging and repeating but that didn't help much. The phone performance has been very nice since the update so I'm not complaining about battery gate so much as I'm questioning the accuracy of the battery health (beta) reading. [link] [comments] |

How to get Whatsapp data from Android to iOS? Posted: 27 Jun 2018 08:03 AM PDT So I recently switched from a Samsung to iPhone X and had about 6 years of Whatsapp data on that phone. Since Whatsapp on iOS doesn't use GDrive for backup like it does on Android, the data doesn't transfer automatically. Is there any reliable way of getting this data over to the iPhone? Don't want to lose all my conversations. [link] [comments] |
OS X Mojave Displays The Wrong 'Mojave' Deseret Wallpaper Version. Posted: 28 Jun 2018 02:20 AM PDT Hi, I've just installed the new OX X Mojave on my iMac 5K. Everything works flawlessly except for the live wallpaper. It's 12PM and I am seeing the the night version for some reason. Does anyone knows what might causing this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Jun 2018 04:30 PM PDT I used Parallels a long time ago, when I first got my Mac. After that, I switched to VMware Fusion. But haven't used either in years and looking to get back into setting up some virtual machines. For relatively simple, day-to-day activities, which do you recommend? I'm not doing anything complicated like databases, servers, etc. [link] [comments] |
