| Looking for an app that will return Bluetooth addresses of nearby devices. Posted: 26 Jun 2018 11:28 AM PDT I'm in a situation at work where we have to track down a particular internal device's activity in a database. We don't have any way of accessing its Bluetooth information and a coworker suggested using an app to get the device's Bluetooth address. What's a good iOS app that will do this? I tried both BLE Scanner and nRF Connect, but neither returns the Bluetooth address on iOS. Just the name of the device, the RSSI, whether it's connectable, and possibly a giant UUID. | Can’t complete album because previous songs were purchased as singles Posted: 26 Jun 2018 09:55 PM PDT So I can't figure this out at all and it's really bothering me. I recently bought a album but 5 of the songs were previously released at singles so it shows I purchased them but won't show under the album. I would like to be able to listen to the whole album instead of each time going to the single of the song missing then coming back. Is there any fix to this? The songs aren't hidden or need to be re downloaded and I would normally just use Apple Music to complete albums that this happens with but this album isn't on Apple Music and could only be purchased. Under the album I am missing song 1,2,3,4 and 10. I also would purchase them again to just have it all complete but I can't even do that. Set everything up except for the iCloud, whenever I try signing in it says something along the lines of "please try again with a internet connection" even though I was connected to my wifi. | Easier slideshows that can also shuffle photos Posted: 26 Jun 2018 09:02 PM PDT Hello there, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a bloody slideshow to shuffle on a MacBook Pro, operating system High Sierra Version 10.13.5. The way I normally do slideshows on my mac (after hours of searching for something that could work and is still relevant on google) is selecting all the photos I want, going to Help in Finder, Keying in Slideshow, and running it like that. Now, I am not that efficient with Macintosh computers, I'm more expertised through windows, but is there a possible way to make it easier to do a slideshow that can automatically shuffle through photos? Also, the photos in question are off of a SD card that I have, and I use a SD card reader attached to my Mac to gain access to, they are not stored on my computer. [link] [comments]  |

| Disconnect between iMessage on iPhone and macOS Posted: 26 Jun 2018 08:16 PM PDT Hi, I have an iPhone 6s running ios 11.4 and a macbook pro running High Sierra. My problem has to do with iMessage. In the past, when I would receive a message while I am on my computer, i would view it there, and the on my phone it wouldn't text me. But now, if i am on my computer and messaging with someone, my phone vibrates non-stop, and keeps telling me that i have new messages.... even though i am reading them on my computer. The disconnect is highly annoying, it's like the two aren't talking to eachother. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a solution? Thanks [link] [comments]  |

| 2011 15" MBP - AMD Gpu bad... again Posted: 26 Jun 2018 08:06 PM PDT Hey Apple friends! The AMD chip died last year, got an Apple repair on it and guess what, the GPU has just died again. Grrrr! AHT/Diagnostics say no problems found which makes the issue that much weirder. Symptoms are it won't boot, stuck on gray screen, fans ramp up to maximum, even after PRAM and SMC resets. I ran through the guides that disable the AMD chip/tell MacOS to ignore it in the EFI and my computer now boots, but I can't do much because the graphics are running non-accelerated. The intel card is running in safe mode where rendering webpages is done line by line rather than the normal full-frame accelerated in 1/60th of a second. Did I miss a step or is there another command set has better instructions than the novel here? I skipped the Arch linux steps and did the single-user mode option. Otherwise, if you want or know who to call to take the board and reflow the chip/fix it (for a fair price) just let me know. [link] [comments]  |

I can still exit out of apps with my home button and change the volume. It is really frustrating because every time I have to turn off my phone to have it respond again. | Posted: 26 Jun 2018 03:24 PM PDT Hello, I own an iPad mini 1 (I know its old and should probably just get a newer replacement) and have sadly damaged the headphone jack with water, causing the device to believe that it has headphones plugged in while it doesn't. I've heard that this is a common problem, which is not really resolvable, however, the thing is, I barely ever use the headphone jack, simply resorting to the main speakers if I need audio, and was wondering if there is any way whatsoever to make the device play any audio over the main speakers, by testing ringtones I could diagnose that there is no problem with the main speakers and they work just fine, only as the device believes it has headphones stuck in, it will normally not play audio over these. If there is anyway I can make the device play audio over the main speakers, that would be absolutely fantastic. I tried different resolutions, monitor settings, cords, and system preferences, as well as forcing RGB mode, but the monitor remained blurry. I then purchased a Samsung 32-Inch Curved Monitor (Ultra- Slim Design) (LC32F391FWNXZA) and the display was also blurry. I tried the same as above, as well as forcing the resolution to be 1920x1080 using SwitchResX, but the monitor remained blurry. I am connecting these to a Macbook Pro, Retina, 13 inch, late 2013 running High Sierra 10.13.3. What am I doing wrong? Can my system just not support a screen that big or something? | The Lightning to headphone jack doesnt work on music control with my earbuds Posted: 26 Jun 2018 01:03 PM PDT So i use an Pulse earbuds PH156 , and i recently upgraded to an iphone 7 plus, bought an lighting to headphone jack just so i can listen to music with more quality, unfortunately the volume control (on the microphone) doesnt work, the play and pause does work but i really wanted to use the volume since i listen to music daily. | Can't add fonts to collections in Font Book. 10.12.4 Posted: 26 Jun 2018 04:45 PM PDT Mid 2015 Macbook Pro OSX 10.12.4 Note: The fonts are installed and work fine. They show up under "All Fonts" and "User Fonts" I have created a new collection in Font Book and am trying to drag fonts into it. The green [+] appears, but after that, nothing. No fonts in the new collection. Doesn't matter which fonts I drag across (system or user), none stay in the collection. Fonts don't drag across to the premade collections either. Am I fundamentally misunderstanding how collections work. The instructions from Apple basically say "Create a new collection, drag and drop, voila!" Cheers Edit: is it a 10.12.4 issue? https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7921686 Edit 2: Dafuq? Now, adding fonts will zero out the collection, but when I restart Font Book, they will appear. | Problem when installing iCloud on Windows PC Posted: 26 Jun 2018 12:23 PM PDT I am trying to download iCloud for Windows so that I can clean up my iPhone since I barely have any space left, but I continue to get this error when the installer is almost finished. "The is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A Program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor". I tried repairing iCloud but it just uninstalled it and now it doesn't show up on the Control Panel anymore. [link] [comments]  |
