Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:14 AM PDT So the problem is, when I tell my homepod to play my recently added music in german (Spiel meine "zuletzt hinzugefügte Musik"), Siri is searching for a playlist named "recently added" -> can't find it, because it is named in german -> doesn't play anything. Is there a way to go around this? I guess appled fucked it up there, to search for the translated playlist, but I also cannot rename my recently added playlist into something else... I searched for charge backs and most of what I found is an article by apple that says to ask the person to send the money back. And if other issues occur to contact a specific help desk. I use Apple Pay all the time. So my question is: if I take Apple Pay cash for a sale, can a charge back occur? I have a feeling it can't because of authentication for the payment.. | Posted: 29 Jun 2018 06:32 PM PDT I bought an iPad Pro 10.5 and Apple Pencil earlier this week and received them today. The problem is that the pencil doesn't seem to be working properly. It syncs fine and is charged, it shows it as connected in the bluetooth settings, but it doesn't do anything. I can't use it as a stylus, write or draw or anything. I've already done all the troubleshooting steps and even talked to Apple Care. I'm pretty sure it's just a faulty product, but I wanted to check here to see if anyone has had this problem and managed to fix it. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:27 PM PDT So I currently have a iPhone 7 plus. I was going through my reminders and was deleting random things and I stumbled across these two strange reminders... One says, "!!! On compressed file scan rootkit nids heuristic tracking cookies antispy", and the other says, "!!! Turn of antivirus. Sonar nap sonar advance remove risks sonar block". What do these mean? I was restoring my iphone on a custom built gaming PC a while back that has NORTON 360 if that helps at all.... I am pretty smart when it comes to technology and I know that rootkit is a type of malware, but I do not know how these got on my phone or what the rest means.... PLEASE HELP [link] [comments]  |

I assume that for a dead "pixel" to be visible on a retina screen, it needs to be technically more than one pixel grouped together and therefore a legitimate problem, correct? I've briefly skimmed some old threads and seen references to "stuck" pixels, but these have been there quite a while. Will the genius bar laugh/shrug me out of the store? | Default Alerts not applied in Calendar Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:49 PM PDT I'm using the default MacOS calendar app. I'm on 10.13.5. I have set the default reminder for "On My Mac" calendars to be 2 hours before event. However, when I create a new event on the calendar, the default alert is not applied (AKA, no reminder will appear). Randomly, the screen gets garbled and freezes and restarts after 15-20 seconds. I thought it was a problem with an external monitor but now it's happened once while just on the laptop display. It doesn't seems to be driven by any specific app or CPU usage or temperature or RAM usage. There is no beeping that occurs and no crash report after restart. No evidence in console. | Error code 36 transferring folder to LaCie drive midway through... Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:04 PM PDT Ok, so I'm trying to transfer the "Data" ?folder? to the LaCie drive. I do this by right clicking on "Data" clicking 'Copy "Data"' and then pasting into LaCie. This works fine, I've got like 997 GB to transfer, but it gets to like 400-something GB and then stops the process with Error code 36. I looked this up, and a lot of information says to run "dot_clean" on it, so I run "dot_clean /Volumes/Data" and it happens quite quick. It might be important to point out that "Data" is the mounting image for a bunch of backups off an old AirPort Time Capsule that I am connecting via USB directly to the removed HDD. Really frustrating to wait like 5 hours to only get half way, then see that it failed because some file wasn't compatible or something... Not sure what's happening here. Any suggestions? | Iphone 6S Plus garbage battery help Posted: 29 Jun 2018 06:17 PM PDT I have an IPhone 6S Plus and the battery has been absolutely trash for the last year. On the health beta it shows 80% of the original capacity and it claims to support peak performance. Although, I cannot use this phone without low power mode and even with that barely. Without low power mode, the battery drains constantly, even without active use. If i happen to stream music on regular mode in my car, the thing will go from 100 to 80 in like 2 mins and so on. On low power mode, the phone is somewhat useable. Anyway, is the health beta accurate? I don't feel like it is and I'm considering buying a new phone, although this is an awkward time in the year to do that. [link] [comments]  |
| Repeated Messages: Update Apple ID Settings & Sign Into iTunes Store Posted: 29 Jun 2018 12:12 PM PDT Hello! I have two problems and it seems like they are related, but maybe not. I am hoping someone has had a similar experience and found a solution! iPhone Specs:
Problems: 1) At least once (sometimes multiple times) a day I get a Settings notification to "Update Apple ID Settings: Some account services require you to sign in again.". I tap continue, enter my Apple ID Password and then the screen freezes. 2) At random times during the day when I open an app I am asked to sign into the iTunes Store again before I can proceed. I haven't noticed a pattern for when/why this happens, but it's frequent (and of course always at the moment I'm in a rush to get information lol). Troubleshooting I have tried:

| How to identify "photo stream" photos in mac photos app? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:39 PM PDT So I recently discovered, much to my chagrin, that photo stream has been transferring all pictures and screenshots from my phone into my mac photos library, taking up a ton of storage space. I'd much rather keep the libraries separate since a lot of the stuff on my phone is screenshots and memes and whatnot. I disabled photo stream on both my mac and iphone, but the pictures still remain on my mac taking up space. How I can I identify which ones in the photo app are from photo stream? I would just mass delete all of them, but I don't want to miss something and delete a picture that was only present on my mac... [link] [comments]  |

I have my Mac mini set to connect to them on boot, but sometimes the NAS reboots and then the volumes I'm connected to disconnect. It shows up as Not Mounted. I have used the disk utility to try repairing and remounting. No luck. Anything I can do to recover the data? | Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:38 PM PDT My dad doesn't use a Virus checker (doesnt disable Java either and isn't running the latest OSX) and just appears to have fallen for the Apple Security malware (looked and sounded something like this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7861498) tried to save him over the phone - did a force quit, he restarted Safari, it now had a timer, he got in a panic and clicked scan now. I got him to switch it off and Pull the internet cable out of the back and switch off which may have partly saved him. I am expecting given the time taken it has downloaded whatever payload it may have been hiding. Have a screenshot but not sure how to post it from my phone - looked like the one in the thread. Any idea what it is and how to remove it? I live a couple of miles away so will go and try and help them tomorrow - just want to have an idea of what I am dealing with. [link] [comments]  |

I know that's not huge these days (it's an early 2014 model), but is it really normal for the OS to be taking up quite that much space? I've googled a bit, and I did make sure to clear my snapshots. I don't have them turned on in the first place, because I have two separate 500gb external hard drives with time machine back ups that I update at least once a week. I also tried re-indexing my hard drive with Spotlight. As far as I understand it that doesn't free up space, but it makes the storage use estimates more accurate. It still shows 45-55gb being used for the system. It changes sometimes when I recheck, but it seems to stay within that range. Am I being unrealistic in my expectations, or is there any way to lower the amount of storage used for the system? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]  |
| MacBook Air shutting down when left idle? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 09:54 AM PDT I'm having an issue with my MBA where if I close the lid and leave the room for a while it will have shut down by the time I return. This happens every time I leave it overnight and often if it's left for 2+ hours. When I open the lid and hit space the screen flashes for a second, goes black, plays the startup sound, flashes and plays the sound again, then boots as if starting from shut down. When I log in there is no error message. Any ideas for what might be causing this? This is a 2014 MBA with a recently upgraded hard drive running OSX 10.13.5. [link] [comments]  |
