It was a 10.5 256gb wifi version. I mainly used it for media consumption, surfing...etc as I didn't find it convenient for work, where I mainly work with spreadsheets and PDFs from the server. Whenever I open a spreadsheet and try to enter data in Excel / Numbers, the on-screen keyboard popped up which then left me with a cramped space to work in. As far as working with PDFs go, it's mainly for merging and replacing the version on the server. Oh, it's definitely a few extra steps when doing that with the iPad. With that said, the IPP 12.9 is priced at USD 520.00 while the IPP 10.5 is priced at USD 500.00 (both used) -- which is really what I can afford. I'm just looking at both the longevity and the usage of these devices to see which one is more suited for my needs. I've read a lot of the other posts regarding privacy (due to the size), weight...etc but am still contemplating whether I can adapt to using the 12.9 on a full-time basis. I've tested it in the store and I liked it but it's different when you're using it every day. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||

Luckily it was cheap. Can anyone recommend a solid stand for propping up your iPad when drawing? Preferably a standalone stand and not a case with a flap. | Posted: 02 May 2018 12:06 AM PDT I bought a 256 GB iPad Pro 10.5 specifically so I could store my entire iCloud photo library on it without having to wait for photos to download if I want to edit them. I have "Download and Keep Originals" enabled, but I still have to wait many times for a photo to download (even old photos) if I want to edit them. Why is this? Isn't the point of "Download and Keep Originals" to store everything locally in full resolution? Or am I misunderstanding this feature? [link] [comments]  | ||

I have to use powerpoints or keynotes a lot offline so I always make sure to download my files onto my ipad: by copying them to "on my ipad" area. But when it comes to opening them when I'm away from wifi, it often fails to open the powerpoints or tells me that the file is unavailable or often just shows that there are no files anywhere and they only appear in the files app when searching for the name: otherwise the list is blank. What is this garbage and how do I fix this / workaround it? Anyone else have this problem? [link] [comments]  | ||

My usual apps are Spotify, youtube, safari, Skype, word/powerpoint, adobe. I'm doing this because my laptop is 4 years old, still strong though but its not comfortable to read on it nor my pc, anyways, I'm looking at the new 6th gen iPad but can't make my mind for 32gb or the 128gb, I need really good future proofing but that 2gb RAM... hmm.. yeah. As I'm on the 10.5" iPad Pro, I would like to connect my iPad to my iMac sometimes and be able to use it like a Cintiq. I'm definitely not experienced enough at art to want to save up for a real Cintiq set-up, but I see this more as a hobby I do every now and then. The official Apple one seems mega pricey for what it does. 2) If I'm using the iPad 2018, is there any point in getting the newer Apple one that does USB3 speeds? I've read somewhere that the difference is negligible unless you're on a Pro and even then it's not really that big of a difference. 3) Do I need to import to Photos first or can I bring them straight from an SD card into Lightroom on the iPad? Now I have a really power computer in my office which is a beefed up Mac Pro on a BenQ rgb monitor so I think a Macbook Pro would be an overkill cause I do most of my editing and graphic intensive stuff in the office. So my question is, would the new 2018 ipad + a bluetooth keyboard be a viable option against just keeping my MacBook Air, which by the way runs awfully slow now, or the new ipad and macbook air are still ways apart? I'm wondering if I change my phone to non apple - keeping the same mobile number, will my Apple ID still work on the iPad - like could i still FaceTime? | Help with Apple Smart Keyboard Posted: 01 May 2018 07:01 PM PDT I've been searching around and trying to look online for the correct way to "disengage" the Apple Smart Keyboard after using it in its laptop form. I'm a bit scared I might damage the smart connector or the ASK itself if I pull it out of position in the wrong way. How does everybody else do it? Do you just pull it out of the magnetic dock forcefully? I've found that it's easier to remove if you tilt the iPP backwards first before pulling it but I'm afraid I might damage it.
