    so hear me out - im wearing the watch so when i get out of range of the bluetooth it should tell me so i dont just leave my iphone at home at work or god forbid in a bar or something - if it would ring / poke as i get lets say 50 meters away it would give me a change to turn back and get it right ?

    sounds like the most basic / usefull think i can / should do ?

    Hello!

    Due to getting some extra money from a side job I did (I posted this on r/apple), I'm thinking of getting an Apple Watch. I was wondering if any you kind people can help me decide which one I should get? While Series 1 is cheaper, but I wonder if the Series 3 watches will last me a little bit longer? Also, should I buy one new or look into a Refurbished one? What are the pro/cons of each one? Thanks!

    heart rate issues?

    I have the AW3, im not sure if the HEARTRATE MONITOR is working properly.

    Is it supposed to automatically record heart rate or only when i press the button? its not recording my resting heart rate at all. am i doing something wrong?

    Which one of these bands do you prefer? I'm indecisive as to which one to get! The Nike looks a bit sharper, more elegant since it's only black and white but the Apple band looks very interesting with all the multicolor strands in it.Image Image

    Today, I wore my pink stripe nylon band to work- I don't wear it often, but it is so pretty, I decided to go for it. Skip forward to this afternoon, My boss asked me to come help clean out our storage cage. The cage is full of old and new IT equipment and we have been working on paring down excess equipment and cables. It wouldn't be so bad, but our cage is connected to a maintenance bay, so we get a lot of dust in there. It isn't just any dust, it is maintenance dust which has an almost oily quality to it. Boxes and loose equipment ends up with a layer of dust when it has been in there for a while; we have a lot of stuff that has been in there for years.

    After about an hour into cleaning, I look at my wrist and realize my poor band is covered in gross dust (no point in taking it off since the damage was already done). Rinsing did nothing but maybe work it into the fibers more. When I got home I ran it under the faucet- unsurprisingly, it didn't help. I grabbed some mild detergent I use for hand washing stuff like wool items and tried scrubbing with that. It didn't really do anything. Then I went hardcore and grabbed my water pic and used that. It blasted the dust out of the band surprisingly well! I am happy to report the band looks good as new!

    Got a series 3 Nike+ on Tuesday. Question about step accuracy.

    When setting up the watch I know it tells you to go walk outside for 20 minutes so it can get an accurate reading on your stride etc. I haven't had a chance to do that yet due to work and other engagements. I'm going to do it on Friday. My question is should I clear the data it already has first or can I just go do it?

    Also, using it mainly for health and fitness so any suggestions on apps or settings would be great.

    App That Plays Podcasts Directly Off of Apple Watch? (Or At Least Syncs Them)

    I've been going for runs now that the weather is nicer and prefer to listen to podcasts while running. (Working on both mind and body.) Since I have AirPods and a Series 3 Apple Watch, I would love to at least be able to sync podcasts to my Apple Watch rather than unnecessarily having my iPhone flopping around in my pocket.

    The biggest first-party oversight is still a native Podcasts Watch app. Hopefully there's a podcast app out there that works independently from an iPhone or at least lets users sync podcasts manually. All the apps I've found only control their respective iPhone apps. Have you guys found a workable solution?

    Dark sky not working?

    Is anyone else having issues with dark sky on a gen 3 watch? On the face it only shows a dark sky icon and no temp and if you click it you get a perpetual black screen after "getting your forecast".

    I've uninstalled/reinstalled for both my phone and watch app but no luck.

    I'm about to purchase a Series 3 Watch and my only hang up is deciding what color. While I know the stainless models are more sturdy, I prefer the finish of the matte aluminum.

    I'm in medical school so I have to dress up professionally, which is part of the reason for the extra pressure. I really appreciate any insight into band and clothing matching that this group can give.

    Question on Apple Watch Synchronization

    Good evening folks. I have an Apple Watch Series 3 that is currently sync with my iPhone X. However, I am going on a trip for 2 weeks and I will be carrying an older iPhone but still wear my Apple Watch. How long does the Apple Watch hold the information and making sure all that information in the watch will synced to my iPhone X - Apple Health when I come back from the trip. I just don't like having to reset my Apple Watch since I will be gone for only two weeks. Any advice?

    My watch shows my activity but it's not synching to the Activity app on my phone. It's weird because it shows a workout I completed but doesn't register the minutes or calories. I did some research with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
