Best option for expanding storage in a Macbook Posted: 02 May 2018 09:37 PM PDT Hi all, I have a 2015 MacBook with a 120GB SSD internal and of course, it's kind of running out of space. I'm looking to expand my storage. Thunderbolt connected anything is out of my price range, so I was looking at either a USB 3 SSD or HDD. I was wondering if a SDXC Card would be an option, because unlike the USB connected drives, it wouldn't get accidentally disconnected if I moved my laptop (as the external drive I'm using at the moment sometimes does). I also have the option of connecting storage to my wireless modem router, which has a USB 2.0 port and is AC1200/5Ghz. I'm obviously looking to maximise speed but possibly also use the external storage as a place to run some of my app off of (like Lightroom or The Sims). I'm currently at 90-91% battery health (592 cycles)and experience anywhere from 4-6 hrs depending on usage. Is this more or less the norm in High Sierra? Linux on Macbook pro 2015 Posted: 02 May 2018 01:19 AM PDT For school, i will have to install linux on my MacBook. Currently I have bootcamp installed, and whenever i use it, my laptop heats up 70-95 degrees. When i use mac os, it does not heat up at all. Does anyone know if linux will cause this problem?
