How is Apple keeping end-to-end encryption for Messages in iCloud? Posted: 29 May 2018 11:02 AM PDT With the new iOS update coming out today Messages in iCloud is finally available publicly. The update notes say "Your conversations continue to be end-to-end encrypted." End-to-end encryption keeps messages encrypted until they reach the target device. Is there such thing as an Airplay 2 bridge? Posted: 29 May 2018 01:38 PM PDT I don't want a Sonos system. I don't want a homepod. I don't want any sort of speaker system. I just want a device that will connect to wifi and plug into my existing stereo using a 3.5mm jack. For the longest time, I used my Airport Express for that purpose. Didn't even use it as a wifi router or extender. Just an endpoint for audio. With those discontinued, did anything else take its place? I guess maybe the Apple TV could work. My thoughts HomePod Stereo Mode Posted: 29 May 2018 12:38 PM PDT I am not speaker expert nor a HomePod expert. I just want to give my input for those wondering if they should get a second HomePod and to answer any questions in regards to how to configure it. How do two HomePods sound when in stereo mode? Well, like stereo is supposed to sound. I have owned two HomePods since the release date. I have them in my office on opposite ends of my computer desk (98" long). Since I got the HomePods, I have always listened to music with the music outputting to both HomePods simultaneously even though they weren't in stereo mode (Possible through iTunes on MacOS). To me, one HomePod is not enough, especially if you are in front of a TV/Computer and the HomePod sits to the side. With one HomePod, it was obvious that the sound was coming from one side of the room. The further away I got from the HomePod, the less obvious it was. With two of them, it truly feels like the sound is coming from everywhere around you. If you plan on using yours for watching TV or on a computer desk, then I highly recommend two of them. If it is for listening in a open room where one isn't as focused on the sound, then one if fine.
