Finder: Possible to restore old Double Click Folder behavior? Posted: 05 Apr 2018 09:45 AM PDT Is it possible in a modern Mac OS to have the Finder open folders into new windows leaving the parent window behind the newly opened window? I would like this to work the old Snow Leopard way, without having to hold down a modifier key to obtain the effect. Thanks [link] [comments]
Best way to migrate Snow Leopard email to newer OS Posted: 05 Apr 2018 09:56 AM PDT I would like to migrate my 25GB email archives of POP3 email from Snow Leopard to a newer OS, Yosemite or newer. What is the best way to do this? Since it is POP3 this is the only copy I have of the email outside of my system backup. It will be to a clean install, migrating nothing else in the user folder. Does the answer differ if I am going to 10.10 vs 10.11/10.12/10.13? What special issues do I face skipping so many versions? Do I need to first transfer the mail to an intermediate version (which)? Thank [link] [comments]
Can’t log in! Installer starts, then crashes. Posted: 05 Apr 2018 10:12 AM PDT I rebooted my 2016 MacBook Pro this morning and all seemed ok. Since I have an encrypted disk, I was prompted for my password right away - normal behavior so far. I entered my password and the boot sequence continued. Great. Then the progress indicator stopped at about 50%. After 10 seconds or so, the screen went black, the Apple logo appeared and suddenly I'm in the installer! Which immediately crashes!! Now I have an apologetic message saying the installer encountered a problem and a big crash log window behind it. I've booted into Recovery, repaired the disk but no errors were found. Reboot - same weird boot/installer/crash issue. What can I do?? [link] [comments]
