Anybody use just the basic ass notes app for all your notes needs? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 08:02 PM PDT I used notability for a long time. Years actually and liked it quite a bit as it had more options, but for whatever reason in my crazy mind I didn't like all the extra options being there. I just wanted something simple to use and quick to open Also tried one note, but at the time it had some major syncing issues and I lost a lot of my work. So I got a bit salty and happily deleted that one. For the past 6 months or so I've been exclusively using Apple notes and ya know what? It's basic. AND it's all I need and I'm happy with that. I don't need a million font choices or to do a bunch of different things. If I wanna make a note, I make it. I can speak it into my Apple Watch. I can make check lists. I can take a screenshot of something and mark it up. I can scan documents (and I do! Tax forums, pay stubs, receipts) I can type something and in the middle, use an Apple Pencil to write something. And my favorite...tables! It seems like something that would be on a more advanced app but I love the hell out of it. I use it to balance my bills. I figure out my paychecks a month in advance and I make 3 columns with the date, total and amount and deduct from there and it's awesome. And it's in sync with all my devices at all timed and oh. I can share it with my wife so we can both collaborate and make changes as needed. Love that! I just wanted to post this real quick because I've seen a lot of threads on here over the years suggesting all these other apps like notability or one note or goodnotes, but nobody seems happy and content with just the basic notes app so I just wanted to show some love [link] [comments]
You and your notes: do you prefer typing them all out or writing them? Posted: 14 Apr 2018 06:52 AM PDT I love the pencil. But my handwriting is worse than a 6 year old kid's and if I wanna make it even remotely legible, I have to write slowwww. So I prefer to type most everything out if I can. Way faster for me anyway and easily copy and paste able What about you guys? [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Apr 2018 09:44 AM PDT Hey guys. Got myself an iPad Pro 10.5 a couple weeks ago, and I'm currently rocking a Spigen Thin Fit case which covers the back of the iPad. I want to have a detachable flap/cover that I can put on or off, exactly like the Smart Cover that Apple sells. The thing is, I don't believe it's worth the $50 price tag. Are there any alternatives that function and are detachable just like the Smart Cover but for half the price or less? Not looking for a case + flap combo; just need a flap. Thanks [link] [comments]
Buy iPad Pro 10.5 now or wait for summer expected iPad Pro? Posted: 14 Apr 2018 05:11 AM PDT I'm an apple user but I never owned an iPad. I mainly need it to replace my laptop for some tasks like presentations, emails, excel and word editing etc.. I have a couple of questions: 1- Does it work well with HDMI? I know it needs a converter. 2- Whats the best keyboard? Adjustable and durable etc.. 3- Would it actually work well vs a laptop for the tasks I intend yo use it for? 4- Should I wait 2-3 months for a new one? [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 10.5 and Netflix. What's your opinion? Posted: 14 Apr 2018 08:45 AM PDT Hey, Im about to buy either iPad Pro 10.5 or Surface, mostly for Internet Browsing, Netflix, YouTube, Microsoft Word, Hearthstone and Comics. I know iPad is 4:3 ratio. Can someone post an image with Netflix opened so can i see the black bars? Is it annoying? I wont be able to see this for myself untill ill buy it :/ Thanks in advance. Smart cover compatibility with the 6th gen ipad Posted: 14 Apr 2018 10:43 AM PDT Hello! I picked up the new ipad today with a 9.7 inch smart cover for the pro. Unfortunately it doesnt work but the store I bought it at has the ipad air 2 smart covers. Will they work? I dont want to make the same mistake again :( [link] [comments]
Considering upgrading from iPad Air 2. Need help deciding Posted: 14 Apr 2018 02:25 PM PDT To start off, my air 2 has been through a lot. It has some wear on it, and one speaker no longer works. Im considering either upgrading to a 2018 128GB iPad 9.7, or a 64GB refurbished 10.5 pro. I mainly use my air 2 to watch videos, browse the web, and do some basic schoolwork. What one would you guys recommend? The only reason I am on the edge is due to the air gap on the 2018 iPad. Anyone who upgraded from an Air 2, is the difference that bad? [link] [comments]

Is the 10.5" iPad a deluxe tablet, and the 12.9" more of a 'main computer'? Posted: 14 Apr 2018 11:14 AM PDT Example: using Pages on the 12.9", you can permanently dock the sidebar for styles, formatting etc, just like on a MacBook. On the 10.5", it's a temporary menu only. Example 2: two full size apps side by side, Vs one and a half, on the bigger and smaller iPads, respectively. Example 3: the bigger onscreen keyboard has a full range of keys, where the 10.5" doesn't expand on the traditional 9.7". Somebody at an Apple store told me that they recommend the big one for replacing laptops, but I didn't quite understand this until I noticed these small ways that the larger screen simply enables a more tooled up interface. I find it hard to envisage myself happily writing and producing stuff on a 10" screen. I know the 12.9" seems big for a tablet,* but isn't the term "tablet" meaningless now? They're are no tablets anymore, only iPads. I mean, we don't look at Surface Pros and think, "good god, look at the size of that thing!" I wouldn't dream of using a 10" laptop for working. *Edited [link] [comments]
iPad 9.7" 2017 vs iPad 9.7" 2018 Posted: 14 Apr 2018 02:00 AM PDT Hi guys, my sister is looking into buying her first iPad, and the shop has both the 2017 and 2018 versions. She doesn't care about the stylus or the keyboard, all she cares about is having a tablet and do tablet stuff with it, nothing major - YouTube, some games, browsing, accessing iCloud files, etcetc... The question is, is there any major differences between the two versions? Or better, is there a reason to spend more for the 2018 version other than "it's newer" given the kind of usage she will do/need? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 14 Apr 2018 09:17 AM PDT Hey everyone, just found this sub and it's a great hub of information! I decided to get the 2018 128gb iPad and getting the pencil a bit down the road. I'm going to be using the pencil for note taking, pdf markups, etc. I'm also trying to do more casual drawing to improve. While I'll be using the popular drawing apps, I do miss creating fun snaps on my Galaxy Note 4. My question is do apps like Snapchat support Apple Pencil to where I can freely and easily draw on my snaps? Thanks for the info and great sub! [link] [comments]
How do you organize your ipad homescreen? Posted: 14 Apr 2018 01:27 AM PDT I'm loving the ipad, I have it for almost 4 months now, but I'm bored of how the homescreen looks, I know iOS is like that, etc etc, but I was just wondering how do you keep it clean and somehow different? Maybe show your setup! I'm curious [link] [comments]
Looking for an iPad app Similar to PureRef Posted: 14 Apr 2018 12:21 PM PDT There is an app I use on desktop called PureRef (https://www.pureref.com) which basically allows me a quick and easy way to drop a bunch of reference photos into one big document then rearrange and resize and crop them freely. Does anyone know of a similar app for iPad? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide. [link] [comments]

Does anyone use OneNote as their main app? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 02:54 PM PDT I'm still in that situation where I can't figure out which app to use as my main note-taking app. I've been using Notability + PDF Expert.. but I find Notability way too limited and quite overhyped. Goodnotes seemed perfect but I like endless canvas when studying [link] [comments]
Is the apple pencil worth it for high school notes/hw Posted: 13 Apr 2018 09:50 PM PDT Just got the new iPad and was wondering if I should get an apple pencil. I primarily want to use it as a replacement for paper at home since most of the time i do the hw/notes on paper and end up throwing it away once the unit is over or shoving it in my paper filled binder. Money isnt really an issue since i just sold my knife on counter strike so that can pay for it. Edit: would you recommend a screen protector if I do end up buying it? [link] [comments]
Are there any cheap adjustable stands for drawing on a 9.7" iPad Pro? Posted: 13 Apr 2018 10:45 PM PDT I'm looking for a stand that lets me put the iPad at angles, rather than drawing flat on the table. (I hate the whole being hunched over the iPad when drawing). Any recommendations? [link] [comments]
iPad Pro on-screen keyboard skips Posted: 13 Apr 2018 11:53 PM PDT I don't understand how this is possible but my 1st gen 12.9 iPad Pro screen keyboard is skipping. It could be any letter I think. Since it's not mechanical, how is this even possible? The screen is clean and undamaged and it was working fine a while ago. Is anyone else having this problem? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 06:39 PM PDT Edit: unrelated in the sense that I'm not comparing the two machines, just iOS. This is my first chance to really play with all the new features and overall, I'm quite happy with it. It's a huge improvement. However, there are a couple things that nag at me. I notice the way the dock slides up when I go home. That's nice. And when I slide up in any app to access the dock, it's right there without interrupting anything. Now why not have the option to auto hide the dock on the home screen. I'd love that. Just like on Mac OS. It would look better in my opinion and we could still easily swipe up at anytime to reveal the dock. A small but subtle thing I'd really appreciate. Coming from an older iOS, I'm used to swiping up to access the control center, and only the control center. If I wanted the app switcher, I could swipe up with four fingers. Now it's always both and I find it jarring. Sometimes I just want to adjust the brightness or the volume and don't want to be pulled completely out of what I'm focusing on. Now it's a bit much. Why not keep them separate? One short finger swipe up for the dock, a longer one finger swipe up for the control center, and the good old four finger swipe up for the app switcher. I'd love that. I also miss how the control center lay across the bottom instead of off to the side. Easy access. Now I have to adjust my grip and reach up to do things I used to be able to do one handed. Small gripes to be sure but I'm curious what you all think. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 03:53 PM PDT I'm looking to get a new iPad for drawing floorplans and building outlines. Something with graph lines and that lets me edit quickly. Any suggestions? edit: Does not need to be able to add furniture or be in 3d. Everything will be 2d. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2018 04:26 PM PDT How does it perform? Hesitant on updating since I feel like it will hinder performance. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
