Netflix elevated black levels in HDR/Dolby Vision with ATV 4K Posted: 31 Mar 2018 07:36 PM PDT Anyone else having elevated black levels on Netflix with HDR/Dolby Vision content? I have the LG E7P, settings have been tuned for full HDR & color space. Black level settings on standard. Black bars on the new season of A Series of Unfortunate Events are bright on ATV 4K & deep with LG Netflix app. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Mar 2018 10:29 AM PDT And before you say "Well duh it's streaming, not lossless", it just sounds lackluster even for streaming. Comparing it to the Dolby Atmos streaming that I get from Netflix on my Xbox One X (Jessica Jones, etc), which sounds louder and has more "oomph" than the Apple TV. What gives, Apple? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 11:14 PM PDT Hulu and TBS's disagreement in which season American Dad is up to is playing havoc with my up next cue. When I watch the newest episode on TBS (S13E07), the TV App points to Hulu S13E07 (according to Hulu, this current episode would be S15E07). So annoying. On top of this, the TV App only shows episode 4 of the current season as being available, even though 3 episodes after this are available on the TBS app which is connected to the TV App. Just another reason why the TV App needs serious work. Already have Fire Stick and Roku, why should I buy an AppleTV? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 06:04 PM PDT Were an iPhone and iPad owning household. I really like iOS and enjoy the ecosystem. We don't currently have a home computer and I will likely buy a MacBook when that time comes. We already have several streaming devices, but I'm entertaining an AppleTV. Is there really any reason to replace one of our working devices? Is there any benefit to the the integration? [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4K Forgets Learned IR Devices After Sleep (tvOS 4) Posted: 31 Mar 2018 07:03 AM PDT I have an audio receiver connected to my tv through an optical cable. I would like to use the Apple TV remote to control the volume of this receiver, so I use the Learn New Device option to teach my Apple TV the volume up and down commands of my receiver . Everything works fine, until the Apple TV wakes up from sleep or is restarted. All saved IR remotes are gone and the Apple TV has switch to 'Auto' volume control. Is there something wrong with my Apple TV or is this a known bug? Edit: I meant tvOS 11.3 [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Mar 2018 06:26 AM PDT It stopped working all of the sudden. It can restart the ATV if I press both top buttons at the same time, but it won't to anything else. Edit: I even unpaired the remote and now can't even pair it. EDIT: ATV4 [link] [comments] |
