    Apple Macbook Right Click Menu

    Right Click Menu

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 04:52 PM PDT

I'm looking to customise the right click menu options in macos when right clicking on an image.

Currently if I want to set an image as wallpaper in finder, one has to right click the image... Down to Services... Set desktop picture

I want the set desktop picture option to appear on the initial right click menu without having to go into the sub services menu

I know this can be done in the Automater utility but it's not exactly intuitive to use!

Can, someone give me a step by step walk through to accomplish this please ☺ https://imgur.com/a/JbFEJ

    2016 vs 2017 13" MBP

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 12:01 PM PDT

I'm looking to jump from Windows to Mac. Right now I'm torn between keeping the 2016 13" touchbar I picked up on Woot yesterday (2.9Ghz i5/16GB ram. 256GB SSD) vs the 2017 non-Touchbar version (i7,16GB ram, 512GB SSD). My main focus for the machine will be Lightroom and Photoshop. I can't find too much comparing the chipset performance. It looks like the 2016 model has 4 ports vs just the 2 on the 2017. Any recommendations/advise from people with either machine?

App to Control External Monitor Brightness

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:16 PM PDT

Does anyone know of any apps/programs for Mac to control an external display's brightness using the default brightness keys?

I have come across MonitorControl but you need to press 4 buttons at once to shift brightness and going to the slider each time is just annoying.

    Mouse recommendations for MacBook Pro?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:13 AM PDT

I got a new MacBook Pro and I'm looking for mouse to go with it for some casual gaming. I saw the Magic Mouse 2, but the thing is about $80 and has bad reviews on Apple's website. So: anyone have bluetooth mice recommendations? The Pro doesn't have any USB ports, so I suppose it has to be bluetooth.

Macbook Air 2011 - should I upgrade to HS or dual boot Linux?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 12:04 PM PDT

    Hi All,

I just revived my wife's old Macbook Air 2011 (2gb Ram Core 2 duo), it is still on Yosemite. All the high sierra reviews hint at needing lots of RAM.

If I did want to do simple tasks with it, browsing, maybe some light RAW image editing (Darktable), should I bother upgrading to high sierra? Or should I just wipe it and dual boot Linux (Ubuntu/Mint)?

I'm inexperienced with OSX in general so any input will be appreciated, thanks!

Thinking of switching from Win 10 to Macbook but not sure...

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 10:38 AM PDT

I've already set up a bunch of stuff with Win 10 including a live account and OneDrive, so I dunno how easy switching over would be, and I've had issues learning how MacOS works in the past so there's that too. Advice?
