The Mid 2014 Macbook Pro Battery Blues: Dreaming of the days of consumer swappable batteries Posted: 06 Apr 2018 11:40 AM PDT Battery is draining significantly more quickly these days. Though I received a replace soon message earlier this week, status is now "normal." @ approximately 1400 cycles (~78%.) Wish Apple still allowed for an easy consumer battery swap. Really can't spare the time to have it serviced by Apple and/or the significant cost of the repair. A ridiculous amount of service is needed to simply swap out the battery on these models. Even the home kits aren't inexpensive. Currently has an in-process dissertation and reams of proprietary data on it. Frankly, this blows. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]

Help me: looking for buyers advice Posted: 06 Apr 2018 05:30 AM PDT Looking to buy a MacBook for life and uni after the death of my 2011 MBP15". Don't think I really need the power of a pro so I've been looking at MacBook 12". What is the best bet in terms of sufficient power and future proofing whilst being cost effective and capable of my usage? Any advice is hugely appreciated, Thanks. [link] [comments]
2017 12" MacBook dilemma. Help! Posted: 06 Apr 2018 05:33 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm in a pickle right now. Should I get the MacBook with i7/16gbRAM/256SSD for $1599 no tax or i5/16gbRAM/512SSD w/AppleCare+ until 2020 for ~$1800 after tax? A part of me want i7 model because it's cheaper and provides mildly better performance but I feel like 512SSD would come in handy and is more future-proof. Not to mention that i5 isn't too shabby either compared to i7. However, I don't use too much storage space. What do you guys think? Btw, I'm replacing my base model 2016 13" ntbMBP for this so overall performance wise the i7 12" should go toe to toe in comparison, right? If not better? Thanks everyone! [link] [comments] |
