Downgrading Apple Watch from WatchOS 4.3 beta

    Posted: 04 Mar 2018 07:07 AM PST

I sold an Apple Watch recently that has the 4.3 Beta, which also requires the 11.3 beta to use. The buyer is requesting a refund because Apple is charging 200$ to ship it in to downgrade and it's for their 13 year old "godson"

I know there's not any consumer way to downgrade but I highly doubt Apple charges 200 to revert the OS. Should I refund them?

Is the S3 GPS with the stock band okey for swimming?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2018 03:13 AM PST

I would like to track my swimming but I'm not sure if only some versions of the S3 can be used to swim. Same thing with the stock band (the one that is delivered with the watch).

Series 0 Battery replacement? Worth it?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 11:05 PM PST

I'm still running my Series 0. It does everything I need it to do, the only thing that's suffering is the battery.

I've charged it every night since release day (1045 cycles), so it's unsurprising it's fading a little.

Has anyone gone through with an Apple battery replacement? Did it make a meaningful difference?

How often should I clean my watch?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 09:56 PM PST

I have an AW S3 without cellular. I use a sport loop. I've had my watch since October 2017. I barely clean it (maybe once a month at most) and I've seen many posts lately about people cleaning their watches and bands once a week. Is this necessary for the watch and how often should I do it? Also, is there a right way to clean my watch?

Lastly, how would I go about cleaning my sport loop? It doesn't seem too cleanable. Thanks for the help!

    Cheers 🥂

    Sudden drop in heart rate

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 07:06 PM PST

Okay not so much. I brought my Apple Watch about a week ago. My heart rate was averaging about 110 everyday. Wednesday it was down in the 70s and 80s. I desperately started searching for answers. Spend the past few days brainstorming what could've happened.

Then I remember I had a cold around the same time my heart rate was 110. Turns out Zoloft and cold medicine can cause an elevated heart rate even though it's SSRI and not a MAOI that the back of the box warned me about.

I'm amazed how much my Apple Watch has made more me aware of my health this fast.

Issue with iMessage from watch to phone

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 05:53 PM PST

I got my wife an Apple watch and she is having an iMessage issue. Every time she sends a message to me from the watch, I recieve it but it doesn't show up in her conversation on her phone.

If she sends my Android phone a message the SMS shows up in her phone conversation but not the iMessages she sends from the watch.

She has no problem receiving iMessages. If I send her a message they show up in the conversation on her watch as well as her phone.

Any suggestions? I have even unpaired and reset the watch as well then paired it back again.

Anyone know of a fix for this? I’ve tried like three different things that I’ve read online but still can get it to give me readings.

Importing run data to the Activity app

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 11:03 PM PST

Hoping a tech guru here can help me out!

I've got a Series 3 with cellular watch that I'm in love with. The GPS accuracy with the cellular has really elevated my runs outdoors, and it's so wonderful to be able to leave my clunky iPhone X at home when I go running - strap on my watch, stick my wireless headphones in, and go.

The stock fitness app is okay, but I don't LOVE it. Runkeeper was/is my go-to when I take my phone with me, and I've got a lot of my past runs tracked in there. I used Runkeeper for my most recent run & initiated the entire activity tracking session from the Watch app instead of my phone. It took FOREVER to sync with my phone, which is annoying, but I could live with it, as the interface was nicer. However, it tracks the route, which did not import to the Activity app on my phone. It also did not import the total time of my run, it just lists the clock time - e.g. instead of saying 0:28:41 as my total time, it just says 2:59 PM - 3:28 PM at the top of the activity in the stock app.

Does anyone know if there is a way to link these two or import the data? I like the stock fitness app to keep all of my data in one place (I track other activities as well, like Pilates classes), but Runkeeper gives me more comprehensive data than the stock app does.

Battery health info for AW coming soon?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 09:43 PM PST

    Hey guys,

I assume most of you are aware of the new battery health feature in iOS 11.3 beta right now. Just wondering if there is any news on similar feature for Apple Watch anytime in the near future. I know the feature was introduced for iOS in response to he down throttling scandal and nothing has happened like that for Apple Watch. Just thought it would be a cool feature to know where my watch's battery is at from time to time.

    Cheers 🥂

How has the AW changed your life? Is the Apple Watch for me?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2018 09:23 PM PST

I bought an Apple Watch 42mm Series 1 last week. Except when it came, it was incredibly slow. Turns out it was really a Series 0, Apple Watch Sport. The seller didn't know and showed me the Amazon ad saying it was a "series 1". Seller offered a return when I shipped it back but I didn't want to go through the hassle, so I sold it locally for the same price I spent.

I used it for roughly 2 hours and didn't really like it. Battery life drained fast and the apps were slow. I felt like the watch was limited. Replying to messages wasn't "intuitive" in a sense. The Instagram app felt limiting but usable.

I'm kind of at a crossroads on whether if I really should try to order another Apple Watch Series 1. Kind of had a bad experience with that last one. I feel like the Series 1 would be a better experience, but I'm a little scared of rebuying a watch and not being satisfied again. I use a GPS Garmin Watch for running since it has a pacer and I don't feel like I could use the Apple Watch for fitness. I'm not super into steps, I'm a fairly active person. Is there something I'm missing? What are some cool features or apps on your Apple Watch that you really love?
