Dead iPhone screen but everything else still works

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 09:33 PM PST

Hey guys, sorry if this is an overasked or stupidly simple question, but i'm just very panicked and confused right now.

This morning I dropped my iphone flat on the floor and it made the loudest noise I had ever heard. I knew I was screwed when white lines started showing up and then my screen died black.

Now my screen is still black but sometimes I can make out some faint lines. I'm pretty sure the LCD is screwed up.

The rest of my phone works properly---when i connect it to Quicktime's screen recording, my lockscreen shows up. The volume and everything works, except the screen. I can't unlock my phone at all because I restarted it (dumb move) and so Touch ID doesn't work. And I can't enter my passcode because the screen is unresponsive.

Just to check, this means I need to get an LCD replacement, right? Is there anything more technical that this situation can be called? Because I'm a broke student and I don't want to get swindled by third-party shops who might charge for hidden costs or so. My Apple Warranty is over (my phone is about 20 months old) so that's out of the question.

For reference, I live in Singapore so I don't think any place-specific details can help.

    Sorry and thank you!

Iphone 8 shut down randomly, got stuck in powering down cycle, hard rebooted, now it won't boot.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 06:44 PM PST

Title says most. Was using my iphone 8 when it suddenly entered the shutting down process as if it had run out of battery (It still had 80% battery). I hard rebooted it only for the apple logo to load, briefly disappear, reappear seconds later and then proceed to do nothing. It has been in this state for nearly an hour. I have tried the recovery mode with no success. Help me Obi-wan, you're my only hope.

I also have a phone interview tomorrow so I kinda need this working.

My 4s works just fine, but its storage is filled in no time. Is refurbishing an option? Can pre-installed apps and functions I don't use (Friends, Health, Siri) be erased to make space?

Forward to calls to Android after a certain number of rings?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 04:43 PM PST

I have a work iPhone and my personal Android. I don't want to automatically forward all calls to my Android. I want it to wait a little bit. For instance, if I left my iPhone somewhere during work. Someone calls the iPhone and it rings 5 times. Could the call then automatically get forwarded to my Android phone?

    lightning port loose on X?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 01:50 PM PST

I've had the X since it's release but try to only use the charging pad to charge the phone. Any time that I use the lightning port to charge it the port feel very loose and the phone with flip from charge to not charging constantly. I've tried different cables both apple and non apple and it seems to do it with all of them so I think I've narrowed it down to the port. Anyone else having this issue?

Iphone 6s+ touch screen is not working

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:53 AM PST

My parent's iphone was updating and my little brother hard reset the phone while its updating and now the touch screen doesn't work though i can see what on the screen.

Tried hard reseting which didn't work.

Tried connecting it to a windows pc and i needed to unlock the phone (which i cannot).

Then tried connecting on a mac and the same thing.

So is there any way to solve the problem? (The touch screen was working before the update and it didnt fall or hit anything as far as i know)

Not a problem, but an annoying issue with iMessenger on iPhone 8. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Ok, so I never utilized the BIU feature in imessenger. Ever. In trying to figure out what is going on I learned it was taken away last (?) update. Well since the last update I will often get words or common phrases (𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒀𝒐𝒖 <—-there. Just did it. I'm on my phone lol) in predictive text that are bold and italics. This is not a problem but I'm just curious to all hell as to why this just started happening since last update. If I had ever used BIU then maybe I'd see how it was happening, but nope. As I said, this is mostly an issue of curiosity, so any ideas are highly appreciated! Thank you :)

    Iphone Battery Issue

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 08:41 AM PST

Hey, so my iphone 6's battery of 2 years has really worsened these last couple months, lasting only a couple hours until full depletion. I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet, but somehow I can cope with it being this way. The funny thing that happened was, I lost my charger 2 days ago and just found it today - when I went to charge it again, it just barely stood at 1%, and I put it to charge. After putting it to charge, I enter an app, thinking it couldn't die on me now that it's charging, and shortly after, it does die off. The thing with the charger - it's also kind of bad already, I gotta really wonk the wire in the right pose so my phone will actually charge. My problem now is, the phone is turned off. When I press the power button, this screen pops up: https://i.imgur.com/0bbQsqJ.jpg - if I do the same thing, but the charger plugged in (and knowing, I made sure the wire is to my knowledge positioned in the way so it's charging), the same screen appears, but without the white charger icon on the bottom. SO it'll just be a battery icon with a bit of redness to it. The reason I'm poitning this out is cause there's a difference between it being plugged in and not being plugged in, so the charger must be charging it - but if it is, why hasn't it charged it loads more yet? Most of you will know normally when this happens the phone will have to charge for a couple minutes at least, and then the apple logo appears and you're able to use the phone. In my case it doesn't show and all I'm getting is the battery logo whenever I try to wake the phone. The reason I'm going so into details is so it might help problem solving - it's happened to everyone before that your phone died off, but why is just that logo appearing? My battery held on for a long time (nearly 2 days) at >3%, and as I plug it in at 1%, open an app, it dies off, and I'm only getting the same screen...

Can I physically move the memory from one iPhone to another?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2018 06:36 AM PST

I have an iPhone 5s that got ran over by a vehicle some time ago, needless to say the screen shattered in 500 million parts. On the other hand, I came across another iPhone 5s with no real use.

Since I have a lot of pictures, videos, etc on my original iPhone I'm interested in keeping all the information. So can I move the memory part that has all the information from the iPhone that is broken to the new one I came across?

    Thanks in advance!
