Posted: 17 Feb 2018 08:50 PM PST I slid my SIM card into my iPhone 7 I just got off eBay & it isn't really picking up cell reception. It's not one of the iPhone 7 models that can be fixed from the no service errors. The SIM card does work because I've tested it on another phone. The phone stays on literally zero bars. I've tried various suggested fixes like turning airplane mode on & off, sliding the SIM in & out, restarting the iPhone, etc. but it still hangs on pretty much no signal. Has anyone else ran into this & is there a fix? [link] [comments] |
A few iPhone 5S Issues that have me on my nerves Posted: 17 Feb 2018 08:24 PM PST Hello reddit, i have come here to ask the questions that i havent found an answer to in the internet, i bought a new iPhone 5S about 3 months ago in a non apple store and untill now i thought it was functioning perfectly, but now i noticed that my Power Button is not working properly, it gets harder to press through they days and i know soon it wont work anymore, so i assigned screenshot, lock screen (and thus, shutdown as well) to my assistive touch, the problem is that if my phone runs out of battery (or if i shut it down myself) even if i plug on its charger, i cant turn it back on unless i use the power button, which eventually it will stop working at all, so i need help to at least know how to make my phone to turn itself back on when i plug it, while i try to figure out how to fix the power button in the meantime, because im sure that having my phone always on, is not a good option, i really hope you can aid me! Im counting on you! Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
iPhone 6s Plus - Horrible lagging and overheating since iOS 11 updates Posted: 17 Feb 2018 01:00 PM PST Currently on iOS 11.1.1 because I was about to JB to see if I could tweak anything to make this more manageable. I do not want to update to 11.2.x because none of my issues below have been resolved up to this point and I don't see how another update is going to fix these seriously debilitating problems that don't seem to be iOS bug related. All issues I've had since the very first public release of iOS 11 until 11.1.1 have been present after every update and after every factory reset without restore from backup. I've tried all the resets at every revision. I've wasted many hours installing everything from scratch after factory resetting and setting the phone up as a new phone (no restore from backup every time). Every time, the phone ends up having all the same issues surface after a few days of use. I am not restoring ANY of my original settings each time. My major issues are: Incoming calls take about 5-10 seconds between when the ringing begins until the phone actually displays on the screen who is calling me. Outgoing calls take about 5-10 seconds between the time I touch call until the in-call display shows up on the screen. Bluetooth acts ridiculous on a daily basis - drops connection to car or headset, won't connect to car or headset, drops car/headset mid-call, etc. Overheating observed in some cases up to 112F on the outside of the phone's shell. Measured using a Fluke IR thermometer. I was able to partially isolate this to location based settings for Nightshift. Disabling nightshift and location based settings under System made it overheat slightly less. In one of the iOS 11 revisions it was constantly polling the cell network when Nightshift was enabled. Apps freezing very often and are ridiculously slow. Outlook, Safari, Messages, many others I use on a daily basis lock up at least once per day. Restarting the iPhone daily is a requirement for me to keep going at work. I bought the iPhone 6s+ used but it was only a few months old and I didn't get it for an abnormally low price. Everything worked normally until all the iOS 11 stuff began. I'm beginning to wonder if my issue is related to others issues that resulted from the screen being replaced, like this one here. I haven't replaced my LCD and it was not disclosed to me that it had been replaced when I bought the phone (I have not opened it to check either). But I am wondering if this is the case with my problems. 3D touch and my ambient light sensor work fine.. even though the 3D touch can be hard to activate some times. Is there any way to get Apple to run the diags on my phone to rule out whether the LCD was replaced with an unofficial LCD? I'm at a loss here and about to switch to a Galaxy S8+. I just can't deal with a phone like this any longer. It's affecting my ability to perform my job on a daily basis and I'm tired of stressing out about it or worrying about the same issues being present on a new iPhone 8+ or iPhone X when I decide to upgrade. iPhone SE started vibrating after shower Posted: 17 Feb 2018 11:39 AM PST I was showering while listening to music, but when I was done and starting puttin on clothes, my phone started buzzing and vibrating. I paniced and threw my phone onto my bed and than ran away (lol.) After coming back, the phone stopped shaking. It started when I touched, after which I quickly turned it off. I restarted it 5 minutes later, which didn't cause it to vibrate. But as soon as I shook the phone once, it started. Restarted again and force quit all my apps which caused more buzzing. With all apps closed, I restarted it and it hasn't buzzed at all ever since. This freaked me out and I wanna make sure it doesn't explode, lol. Thanks for any ideas on what could've caused it. Didn't get any water on it, except when touching screen to change music. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Feb 2018 10:43 AM PST Hi! As you can see and hear (please turn the volume up) in this video, I am experiencing a really weird behaviour with the Taptic Engine in my iPhone 7. I know that is has a Taptic Engine and that you can choose of different types of vibration patterns for the home button's haptic feedback. But this weird behaviour started a few weeks ago for no obvius reasons (no water contact, no extremely low or high temperatures etc.). The haptic feedback is way too loud and is even appearing when I am using apps via touch input (no touch of the homebutton itself), e.g. when using the setting of the alarm clock. Although I think this issue should be covered by warranty, I am having a hard time describing the issue for Apple's support hotline. So I would be grateful if you could tell me what you think the issue is or at least how you think I could describe the issue for Apple's support. [link] [comments] |
iPhone 7 constantly searching and now restarting endlessly Posted: 17 Feb 2018 10:39 AM PST My iPhone 7 died the other night and upon turning it on, it has constantly been searching for service. I've taken out the sim card and all the generic stuff, and now it is also constantly restarting with the apple logo page. It's like this happened instantly and don't know whats happening. Posted: 17 Feb 2018 10:14 AM PST My email wasn't working on my iPhone so I deleted the account, but now it won't let me add it again. I click yahoo, type in my email address and password, and it goes to the screens that says mail calendar, etc for a second, then goes back to the screen where you tap which email account you're adding (google, yahoo, outlook, etc). Help! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2018 08:57 AM PST Iphone6. IOS 11.2.5. Super iPhone users? Help? Have tried Madam Google's suggestions to no avail. Since iOS11 update ~1 month ago, internet (non-WiFi) has been almost unusably slow. Tried "offloading" lots of apps, then they all got stuck in "waiting." Tried "Reset Network Settings" and "Reset All Settings." Apps were still stuck and then non-stuck apps aren't working (example: after clearing all settings, "notification" permissions were withdrawn for 3rd party alarm, and app {and all other non-stock apps} is no longer populating in list of apps under Notification settings to be able to grant permissions for it to run). Lots of restarting involved. No luck. Did full backup to iTunes on computer, Factory Reset, and restore. All apps finished downloading (yay!), but now but all apps are still missing from the list to modify the Notification settings so things like my alarms won't work. Some suggested uninstalling/reinstalling apps that aren't listed in Notification Settings, but that didn't work, either, for the 1-2 I tried with. Ideas? [link] [comments] |
