So I just got a iPad Pro 10.5 recently. I love the thing, it's fast and sharp. The last iPad I had was an air 2.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I remember the battery holding very well. Is it normal to lose 3-5% charge over night ~8 hours? The iPad was definitely sleeping aside from receiving one text in the middle of the night. This is with a Smart Keyboard attached.

Could have sworn my air 2 would be the same % the next morning.

As I'm learning new keyboard shortcuts on my iPad to minimize touching the screen as much, I learned about spotlight search and how useful its functionality is. It's great that you can use it quickly to search for just about anything stored on your iPad. Now my question to the community: what are some of your favorite keyboard shortcuts that you think a newbie like myself should know?

Questions about iPad 3

So I want to purchase an iPad 3 for my sister and I've only ever bought an apple device before (I want to buy it because it's cheap and she's a kid so she doesn't care much about specs, camera and other things etc.).

The software is pretty out of date its iOS6 so my question is how newer apps and update to apps work on that software, do they get optimized for it.

Second question is about the charger, those the iPad 3 have a special charger for it and does it break easily.

Something to show on the big screen of my iPad Pro 12.9 while I'm not using it?

Hello. I've recently got an iPad Pro 12.9 for work (thanks to recommendations and advices on this sub. You are great.). It's a beautiful piece. When I'm using it for sketching, notes, managing plans... I rest it on the table. When I use it as a remote desktop (that Citrix X1 mouse is a must), I use a base than makes it look like a small iMac. I love how it looks with the Apple Keyboard.

When I'm at the office, obviously, I don't use remote desktop, so my iPad rests on its base with the screen off. So I'd like to use this screen for something. I don't know yet. Maybe some screensaver solution, a clock, something that shows irrelevant data, or just an acuarium.

Do you use anything similar? Do I miss a potential great use for this side screen? Any recommendations? Crazy ideas? Thank you very much.

ipad pro 12.9 stay on 10.3.2 and jailbreak or upgrade to 11?

I've been on 10.3.2 for awhile. On both my ipad pros. Should I jailbreak it or move to 11? Is there a filemanager program when I jb 10.3.2. I think that's the only thing I would miss from ios 11. I do want to use my magic mouse with my ipad pro so that's why I want to jb it.

iPad Pro 10.5" (2017) - recommend a case with stand and hand strap/handle

I just purchased an iPad Pro 10.5 to replace an Air that I had been using for work. I have several main use cases - 1) handheld as a reference tool 2) standing on a table or desk as a presentation tool/workstation for light typing (on-screen keyboard is totally fine, as long as I can set it up at a lower angle) - prefer both landscape and portrait

I do want something with reasonable protection but that's not my #1 concern. I am very careful with my devices and it will be carried in a padded laptop bag when not in use. I prefer a clip-in style of case but it's not a deal breaker as long as it's secure on the device. I would really like a low-profile/unobtrusive hand strap option for when I have to hold it for long periods of time (sometimes for several hours at a time). I do prefer a folio style case as I will be putting it in a bag and what not and hate screen protectors almost without exception.

If the hand-strap is removable, that would also be great, but it's not a deal-breaker.

Any suggestions? For added difficulty, I'm in Canada but could cross the border for a mailbox pickup if required.

EDIT - I should mention that my primary concerns are weight/bulk and that it has to look reasonably professional. I guess an ideal solution would be something a Smart Cover + back shell with a strap, or something that will allow me to hold it securely. I'm happy to mix and match
