Best way to set up company iPad Posted: 19 Feb 2018 06:46 AM PST The small business I just started working for recent bought an iPad for me (the marketing person) and the sales team (less than 10) to use. I'm going to be in charge of it, but everyone will have access to it to use at trade shows and the like. How should I set up the Apple ID? Should I use my company email to set it up? Can it be changed in the future should I get moved elsewhere? [link] [comments] |
Cleaning the silicone side of Smart Keyboard Posted: 19 Feb 2018 01:23 AM PST Any tips on how to clean the silicone side of the Smart Keyboard? It seems to pick up a lot of dirt which is really hard to get out even with a damp microfiber cloth. Are there any effective ways that do not discolor or leave any marks on the cover? iPad Pro 12.9 Not charging through Hyperdrive Dongle Posted: 19 Feb 2018 07:08 AM PST Hello. I am using my iPad as external Monitor with my Macbook 13 inch (non-t) The iPad is charging when I don't use the dongle, but when I use it it states "it's not charging" and it it quite a pain. Is there a solution to this? I want to charge MacBook Pro/Ipad pro WITH the dongle. I am currently using lighiting connecter through regular USB, I am wondering if it could change something IF I purchased lightning cable to USB-C and connect it to the other USB-C port rather than regular USB. ~thoughts? Posted: 19 Feb 2018 12:40 PM PST So the other night I plugged my iPad Mini 2 in to charge like I do every night and woke up to it completely dead. It wont turn on, wont boot, nothing. There were no signs anything was going wrong with it and it's only ~1.5 years old, so I don't think it's a battery issue. I've tried everything you can think of: hard reset, DFU mode, letting it charge for hours on end...you name it - I've tried it. When I plugged it in that night, the battery was at about 50%. What's weird is that when I plug it in now, the charger gets a little warm (like it usually does when somethings charging) for about 15 minutes then goes back to normal. Just wanted to see if there's something I could try before I take it in to the Apple Store? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Is the Apple leather sleeve for iPad Pro worth it? (Or the Apple laptop sleeves) Posted: 19 Feb 2018 12:47 AM PST Hey everyone, with an iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen + Smart Keyboard - looking for a good sleeve. Is the leather sleeve worth the $$$ Apple is selling it for? Anyone know any alternatives/knock-offs or do you think it's genuinely worth the dollar. I'm happy to pay extra for a quality product I'll use for the next X amount of years, but I feel like the $200+ AUD is "pushing it". I've also considered some of the Laptop sleeves that Apple sells - anyone tried them? What are you using?? Thanks~ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Feb 2018 02:00 PM PST I'm a musician and usually use my laptop with logic x during live performances. I am looking for something with cool built in sounds. Are there any apps on the ipad that will do the same thing as logic or ableton? Or even something that makes playing live easier (I don't even need a full daw, just something where I can use the plugins). Will an ipad be able to fully replace my laptop in terms of playing live music? Are there interfaces that connect to the lightning port that have multiple channels? Thanks! Leaning towards the 10.5 pro. Screen looks big enough to read music on it. [link] [comments] |
Artist planning on making the switch from windows to ipad pro. Posted: 18 Feb 2018 09:02 PM PST I'm an artist, so the stylus and art apps are really important. iPad seems to have it going on in that department. The surface I'm currently working with is just too underpowered and msoft really dropped the ball by going with the cut rate n-trig stylus. I can compensate for inaccuracy with speed or speed with accuracy. But the n-trig stylus is neither fast or accurate. The legacy workflow for drawing on screen just ain't cutting it. Worked great for my old intuos, but now I have to concede that I need to work with a touch based interface if I'm going to work on screen. Procreate appears to have a smooth workflow. The only complaint I've heard is it's not good for print. And I was hoping to work my way up into designing posters. Is there a good app for scaling images for high res printing standards? Logitech CRÉATE case Not working Posted: 19 Feb 2018 12:04 PM PST Hey guys, I received my keyboard case in the morning and was super excited to try it. I placed the iPad inside the case and opened Word to try it. To my surprise, the case was not working. I have watched every single youtube video I have found, and yet none have helped me. The case is brand new. Anyone else had this problem? [link] [comments] |
Which iPad should I get for a middle schooler? Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:44 AM PST Hi my kid will be starting 8th grade and I figured I would get him an iPad, but I cannot decide which model to get him. Ideally I would like an iPad which can handle all Microsoft office tasks without getting laggy, a great battery life, and easy portability for a kid. I was thinking iPad Pro, but it would be too big and expensive, on the contrary an iPad mini I believe won't be powerful enough without any stutter correct? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:42 AM PST Does anyone know of an App for the Pro iPads that allows you to draw on an imported picture with the Apple Pencil, then just retain only the drawn image? I'd like to do some portrait sketching without starting from scratch. And, I have very little talent besides, LOL. [link] [comments] |
Any version of Chrome for iPad 2 Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:39 AM PST I'm running iOS 9.3.5 (13g36) on my iPad 2 (mc774LL/A), which is the highest version compatible with this device. Google Chrome at the app store requires version iOS 10. I don't currently have Chrome installed. I'm new to this subreddit. - does it host a weekly questions megathread where this might be better posted? Any suggestions on how I can find & install an earlier version of Chrome? Posted: 19 Feb 2018 01:48 AM PST Have any of you experienced an issue with iTunes (or the Music App) on the iPad where you select an artist, and all the information scrolls all the way to the left and then you can't select anything? You can swipe it back over, but it just keeps repeating the same process. This has continued to happen despite quite a few updates... just seeing if you guys have experienced the same issue? iPad/iPad mini recs for teacher Posted: 19 Feb 2018 08:44 AM PST I'm interested in using an iPad or iPad mini for handwritten notes, either on their own 'notebooks' or on scanned worksheets. Does anybody use this? What is the experience like? Does the stylus make much difference? What's the oldest version of iPad or iPad mini you'd use for this? For context, I had been using an old MBA for my work computer, and when it started to die, I replaced it with a Surface Pro 4. I don't love the Surface Pro either as a computer (I miss the mac os) or as a tablet (it's a bit too large/awkward/heavy for easy writing, and I never figured out a practical workflow. Now I am playing with the idea of selling the Surface Pro, reviving (if possible) my old MBA, and adding an iPad along side of it for the tablet functions. I'm leaning towards iPad mini mostly because of weight and partly probably overcompensating for the monster size of the Surface pro. Any thoughts would be helpful! [link] [comments] |
Is 3.3 hours SOT (60% brightness) with Procreate + Apple Pencil normal? Posted: 18 Feb 2018 08:41 PM PST I just bought a brand new 12.9 inch 256gb Wifi only Ipad primarily for sketching. On the battery stats, it says I've used the battery from 100% to 24% with 3.3 hours on Procreate 30 minutes on Chrome 6 minutes on Home and Lock screen Total adds up roughly to 4 hours of screen on time at 60% brightness with the Apple Pencil used in the entirety. Is this expected or should I get more? Also the right side (closer to the home button) gets quite warm when drawing in Procreate. [link] [comments] |
Looking for a little tech support on iPad Mini 2 - Help Please Posted: 18 Feb 2018 05:05 PM PST Hi There, Not sure what the issue is anymore. Short of bringing it to an Apple store/authorized service provider, what are my options?? [link] [comments] |
Duet Display causes display issues for new laptop. Posted: 18 Feb 2018 07:07 PM PST So essentially duet display (even Pro) is causing some programs, namely games, to stop working. Installing duet begins the problem, uninstalling and restarting partially resolves it. Overwatch as well as the program Geforce Experience both load up (fullscreen OR windowed) as a black screen and cannot be exited without task manager. I first resolved the issue by restoring my laptop to factory settings. Upon re installing duet however, the problem came back. Bare in mind this issue persists even when duet is not running. Uninstalling the program again and restarting has allowed games to run, however now when exiting fullscreen mode games, my google chrome goes to a smaller size and occasionally freezes on certain sites. I'll be restoring to factory settings once again and plan on either running duet display on a second user account or not at all. This is on a Acer Aspire laptop (i7 8550u, mx130, 8 gigs ram, 256gb ssd) bought last week. My set up is the laptop, plugged into a 25 inch 1440p monitor (laptop display turned off) with an ipad pro 9.7". Unless there's a fix I'm bummed to say I wont be using the app for any digital art any time soon. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2018 03:08 PM PST I'm considering using iPads as digital menus in my hotel bar/lounge. I was wondering if there was a way to have guests "sign in" somehow that would allow us to have their identification linked to the device so that we have a form of loss mitigation if one goes missing? Or any other form of security for them that would work? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
