    Due to the rise in comments and people PM'ing the Telugu text, any user found to be doing that will get a permanent ban (except if you actually request it for testing). If anyone gets this PM'd to them and they did not request it, please send us a modmail with proof and we'll take action.

    Posting that character can cause harm to a device and require a restore so it is not going to be tolerated that people post it to crash others devices.

    Literally if Coolstar tweets about that electra will release a blue icon Cydia in the final version, here in this sub we have 324635 post about it. I know, we NEED the final version of this JB, but patience its priority here. Let him (or her, i don't know) work in peace.
    Yesterday i saw (maybe) 10 post about some random tweets from coolstar.. This need to be STOPPED!. Pardon me about my english, its not my first language.

    Most people have realized that Coolstarorg & some others are creating Electra with a modified Cydia version. However, as has been happening for years with Coolstar, a lot of drama is surrounding it.

    Please know, this post is not about Electra being bad, or coolstar being a bad developer.

    Edit 1: Yes I know, Coolstar is doing this work for free. But so have all the other teams for the last 10 years, and no one comes close to stirring up the amount of drama as Coolstar & his friends.

    Check the comments to see what kind of drama.

    Coolstar has been surrounded by a lot of drama over the years. From fights with other developers, to having fights with /u/saurik to a completely screwed up DRM protection that caused massive problems on people's iPhones, to DRM protection for his Mac apps that ignored hackintosh, etc. His DRM was so bad that he said he was leaving the community last year.

    Coolstar is hungry for attention.

    The current situation on Twitter is such a complete attention hungry shitstorm, and I'll explain why.

    Coolstar is making developers contact him via Twitter. So developers must basically beg coolstar for a Jailbreak.

    Coolstar should have sent the beta to a few developers who actually matter for the initial release.

    For example, rocketbootstrap is one of those packages that can bootloop your iPhone if not updated.

    Coolstar should have silently given Ryan and other devs the beta, while not creating all this ridiculous hype and basically making himself look like a god — which is not exactly true.

    Let's not forget that the Electra jailbreak is basically the wrapper for Beer's exploit. True, it's a lot more complicated than that, but people seem to think Coolstar made this entire Jailbreak from scratch, which is far from true.

    Now that Electra has leaked, coolstar is going to punish all users who have installed it by refusing to let the final release work on their devices.

    Coolstar is now kicking drama on Twitter again.

    In my opinion people should act more like Saurik / Taig / Pangu. Don't announce anything until it's ready.

    Not having your every tweet posted on Reddit and having kids beg you for a jailbreak.

    Every time childish behavior & drama surround coolstar, and the people he works with, nullpixel is all about the drama too for example.

    Stop treating him like a god, while basically ignoring the people who did the actual hard work (Ian Beer, Levin, guy who made KPPLess, etc). Their work is incredibly under appreciated while coolstar & company who are infamous for stirring up drama everywhere, making horrible DRM that breaks stuff, etc get all the credit. Once Electra is released and it all works, than you should thank Coolstar, but not now while he's creating all this childish drama.

    • I'll start off with this. we are not purposely blocking devices from using Electra. it's a technical limitation; release candidate 1.4 changes the file structure around.

    • We're not trying to cause drama. I hate the stress it causes me.

    • we're working for free, and a few more days won't hurt

    Admittedly, we could've been clearer in our communications. I'm sorry for the lack of clarity in my tweets about the technical changes, but seriously — give us a break. we all make mistakes, and ours was communication.

    there's a complex situation with Andy, and we're not going to reveal all of it publicly, until we've spoken to him about it at least.

    I finally gave it ago and tried out i0n.us (a website that removes jailbreaks that run on IOS 11.0 to 11.1.2) a try and it went outstanding. The process was smooth and quick, when the new jailbreaks roll around I recommend giving it a try in order to get rid of the old.

    This is a bit of a stretch, but as I look back on apple's design elements, it's gone fairly good and bad. I like how more color is in the iOS9 UI. Swift might be what can hold this back from Obj-C. But I would like to see somewhat of an attempt (I would do it if I actually had a decent brain to comprehend code.)

    • Preface

    Okay, so a massive tweet was put forth on cool stars twitter which naturally gained traction. This tweet was among many over the past days that have stirred up drama and split the community. Obviously drama is the enemy here and disrupts the peace.

    • Breaking of rules

    Here's where things get iffy. A mod (/u/LaughingQuoll) made a low effort post solely for the purpose of joking and causing drama. This is the exact issue that the sub has had for days. Adding to the issue is not solving it and accomplishes nothing other than making the problem worse. As someone who has moderated before, I believe I speak for everyone when I say, as a mod, you speak for everyone on the moderation team with your actions. With or without the moderation cap.

    So what's the issue here? The issue is that this particular mod violated the rules of the subreddit. The violation is classified under Rule 5:

    No exceptionally low effort posts.

    Rules apply to everyone. They are not "pick and choose depending on if the user is a mod". The behavior shown by this mod is unacceptable and brings shame to the moderation team as a whole. You are a mod. You are not the subreddit owner and you cannot change a rule because you want to. This is clearly abuse of moderation powers and action needs to be taken.

    • What's happening now

    As a result of the tweets, a new "live thread" was created. I am 100% behind this thread and the much needed organization finally restored to the subreddit.

    My suggestion about the debacle? Remove all posts regarding it. Including the one made by the mod that violates the rules. See from history that adding to the problem is not fixing it. Hit and miss shouldn't be allowed. Especially when it's an abuse of powers. This subreddit is a former shadow of what it once was.

    [Request] Tweak for iPhoneX that switches Spotlight Search gesture with control center

    So that swipe down on the springboard brings down the controlcenter (that possibly could be centered around the middle/lower bottom for better reachability).

    I almost never use Spotlight search but frequently use the CC. Much easier to reach this way and if it's possible bringing the overall CC downwards would make it even better to control one handed.
