    [Meta] We are looking for more moderators on /r/jailbreak and /r/iOSthemes!

    Hey everyone!

    We are once again looking to bring on new moderators to help with daily moderation tasks on /r/jailbreak and /r/iOSthemes.

    At this time, we are looking to bring on about 2-3 new mods, preferably those in European/Oceania timezones, although we may decide to change that number.

    Requirements

    • Your account must be at least 6 months old and you must have at least 500 cumulative karma
    • Must be active in /r/jailbreak and/or /r/iOSthemes and be knowledgeable about jailbreaking
    • Look forward to doing the "janitorial" work that is the bulk of what moderators do: removing and approving posts, clearing the modqueue, responding to modmail, explaining the no-piracy policy, helping people, maintaining order. It helps to be a pretty patient and tolerant person.
    • Willing to perform the majority of moderation work from a computer & install Moderator Toolbox (mod tools for mobile are terrible)
    • Willing to actively participate in our private subreddit & Slack channel
    • Previous moderator experience is helpful, but not necessary
    • Willing to submit to our Robot Overlords

    3. What aspects of /r/jailbreak or /r/iOSthemes need to be improved, and how would you improve them?
    4. What new ideas do you have for the subreddit, if any?

      • Writing AutoModerator rules
      • Python and PRAW
      • HTML/CSS/JS
      • Tweak Development
      • Theme Creation
      • Some other programming language (list ones you are comfortable with)

     

    In addition to your answers, we will also be using your user profile & any past interactions we may have had with you in our decisions.

    Applications will be open for 2 weeks and close on Thursday February 15th, 2018, at a time yet to be decided. Depending on how many applications we get, how long we take to decide on who has been successful will change. Hopefully it won't take us more than a month to decide.

    If you have any questions about what it's like to be a mod, or anything mod related, please feel free to ask.

    Personally, as an old school Linux admin, I prefer how this electra jailbreak is. Being able to put files in place manually (once you know where to put them) makes me feel safe.

    Of course, Cydia allows ease of use in browsing tweaks and running install scripts - but the install procedure is blind and you dont really know whats going on.

    Everyone is different though, I have a couple of tweaks and a theme - I'm just missing icleaner and activator.

    The news that Cydia maybe coming to Electra is of course good,but I'm sure we will have a lot of questions on this sub once people start blindly installing tweaks with cydia and things go wrong.

    My kids have asked to have their iphones jailbroken in the past and I've never done it for fear of them screwing it up by installing a rouge tweak/theme. With electra, I could set it up for them safe in the knowledge that there is not a lot they can screw with.

    So, from my point of view - yes, jailbreak with electra but please do some research and learn what is going on.

    I have been using Scothman for months, no problems. Today I received a 24-hour ban, and many users are reporting the same with both Scothman and Snapchat++.

    We believe a new ban wave has started and just wanted to let you guys know.

    It's best to uninstall any Snapchat modifications aside from Phantom Lite for the time being.

    "This tweak successfully removes most of the iOS 11 animations or speeds it up."

    I decided to delete the old thread and create a new one, since those edits gets pretty confusing. Beta 2 has been released and I'm proud to say it's much more stable and usable. I don't use Fluidity, but others said it causes problems when being used together with my tweak. Same for iPhone X users, since the animations are a little bit different it's not working quite as intended. Therefore if someone with an X would be willing to help testing various versions it would be appreciated. I update the website with all the major info about the tweak and looking forward developing beta 3. Please report any new bugs to me with as much details as possible. The tweak is intended to be working with iOS 11, but I've been told it makes an effect on iOS 10 as well.

    [Release] UniBoot - a tweak to preserve your jailbreak after shutting down or rebooting (NOT untether)

    This was previously known as "UniTether". I liked that name more, but you guys found it misleading so...

    What is this?

    A Substrate tweak that:

    • Makes the screen black when you "Slide to power off" and enables airplane mode instead of fully shutting down, therefore keeping the jailbreak. The device can be turned ln by clicking the power button once.

    • Resprings your phone when the reboot command is ran.

    • Adds a small 15-pixel area at the left corner of the screen, and when tapped twice it resprings the phone. It works even when the device freezes, and is the alternative to hard rebooting.

    Support

    iOS 9.x - 10.x for now, should work on iOS 11 when Cydia and dpkg work there. Works with all devices, including 32 bits, iPhone 7, iPads, iPods.

    How can I get it?

    Add the artikushg.yourepo.com source to Cydia, and install the "UniBoot" package.

    I was bummed since I've been really lazy and didn't have blobs for 11.2.1 and 11.2.2. I got the notice they closed last night, but the notices kept flip flopping back and forth for all kinds of devices. Well, just now I sat down at my computer and started running tsschecker with my 6s info for 11.2.2 and it said it wasn't signed. So I just kept re-running the command over and over. After about 5 tries I got a signed message and my blob was saved. Did the same thing for all my devices. Some of them saved the first time. Some of them took a few tries. None of them took more than 6 tries though before getting me a blob on 11.2.2

    So if you are missing your blobs for 11.2.1 or 11.2.2 go start running tsschecker over and over and see what happens. You may just get them saved like I did.

    [tutorial][Beginner] Set nonce using NonceSet1112 ipa- easy *step by step

    requirements: 1)cydiaimpactor link!
    2)nonceset ipa link!
    3)valid* shsh2 blob file.

    STEPs:
    *1)open shshe2 file using any text viewer (eg notepad)

    *2)serach for <key>generator</key> and look beside it for actual key (eg. <string>0XXXXXXYYYYYYY</string>

    *3)COPY THIS KEY CODE

    *4)sideload nonceset1112 app using cydiaimpactor and open it

    *5)look for root status (it should be ROOT)

    *6)paste that key code in set/change Boot-nonce

    *7)Bingo!u will get ur nonce set

    *8) backup to Dropbox if u want.

    Tips: if nonceset1112 app stuck try to reboot device and do it again. and avoid minimizing the app

    [Question]Anybody know how to find spotify folder in the filesystem?

    So today I was greeted with spotify telling me that I have reached my download limit... Oops. But anyway, I was thinking that I could find the folder for spotify and get some of my downloads off of my phone, but all the app folders are named with random numbers and letters not the actual app name. I've seen this before, but I'm not sure if there is an easier way to find spotify instead of searching through each folder one by one. Anyone have any suggestions?

    As someone who successfully went 10.1.1 to 11.1.2 when only 11.2 and up were signed

    The latest baseband and SEP (touchID) worked beautifully

    (As a side note, I'm not 'worried' about it— just curious from a technical perspective as a nerd)
