I feel like I did something

    Posted: 01 Feb 2018 02:07 PM PST

I am developing a Reddit client for the Apple Watch, and I'd like your help choosing some features.

    Posted: 01 Feb 2018 09:56 PM PST

    Hello all!

My names Will and I'm a 15-year-old developer from Australia.

For the past couple of months, I have been developing a Reddit client for the Apple Watch. It's nearing completion, and I'd like your advice on some of the features you'd like implemented.

Here are some of the features:

    • View any subreddit

    • View comments of posts

    • View replies to comments in a post

    • See post time, score, author, number of replies, and gild count

    • Haptics to signal when the content is loaded (WatchKit URLSession is often slow)

    • Image Support

    • Sort Subreddit Posts

    • See Gilded Posts

    • Author highlighting (Moderator, OP, Admin)

    • Gif Support (not inline) (Very slow gif support; no gifv, webm, etc support at this time)

    • Sign into account (upvote/downvote and save posts and comments)

    • Inline Twitter support

    • Handoff support to your favourite Reddit clients (Apollo, Reddit, Narwhal, more to come)

    • Sort Comments

    • Comment on posts

    • Reply to comments

    • See flair of a post

    • See if a post is SFW or NSFW

    • iOS Companion app for managing settings

    • Default subreddit on launch

    Screenshots

    Subreddit View

    Subreddit View 2

Post View 2 (This has since been changed to include voting buttons and a save button)

Is there anything else you'd like to see?

How do you change the distance moved?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 05:22 AM PST

I searched prior to posting but found nothing and google only shows how to change mi to km. Sometimes I'll run a longer distance than what my watch tracks. For instance this morning I ran two miles but my watch displays I've only run 1.7 miles. Over the last 1.5 months it's shorted me distance while running indoors . I've used the outdoor walk calibration but it doesn't seem to help. I'm using the stock apple workouts. I know there's an option to correct distance in the Nike run app and hope there's something similar here. Thanks in advance!

Man this sub really goes to shit at the turn of every month eh?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2018 01:16 PM PST

Could we start an activity mega thread each month and delete any photos of awards and 'feels so good' posts?

My 2 Cents on the night Feb challenge

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 02:55 AM PST

Maybe this whole whacky experience (have the same issue as everyone else) is a good reminder for all of us why we work out.

It's not for the watch, it's not for the badges and achievements. It's certainly not for anyone else and it's not to be able to brag about (which certainly feels great though).

We work out for ourselves. To be able to look into the mirror and go "You did great today and yesterday and all those days before". You DID work out. You could have sat on the couch, stay inside, taken a taxi, watched Netflix. But no, you worked out. And that is what truly counts!

Which band is the most comfortable when typing on a keyboard?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 01:25 AM PST

I work in an office and spend a lot of time typing in code, emails, Slack messages, etc.

I have a leather band and a Nike sports band, both of which aren't very soft. In addition to that, they both have uneven elements at the bottom (that are used for fastening the bands). Since my wrist touches the desk when I type, the uneven parts of these bands press against my skin. Typing for a long time makes my skin uncomfortable and I have to take the watch off my wrist.

Which bands, in your experience, would be the most comfortable for lots of typing every day?

Where the hell did they come up with the distance, for the February Challenge?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 07:37 AM PST

156.2 miles seems fairly random. It comes out to a screwy number when divided by 28 days and doesn't even make sense if you convert it to Commie Units: 259.3795 Kilometers.

    Are we being trolled?

Why didn’t the exercise ring fill?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 04:53 AM PST

    Hey guys,

New to the sub and exercising! I've been using my watch for a few days and have noticed that the exercise ring does not complete even though I have 30 minutes of workout time.

I've done a bit of reading about this and I've seen that some didn't know about starting a workout and some people say that you need to reach a certain BPM.

If anyone has any insight, it's much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Bumper for my watch.

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 08:05 AM PST

I put this little bumper on my watch after my fiancé came home (he has a Samsung gear fit 2) and had ripped his screen off of his from a shelving unit. Now I'm worried I'll do the same. https://i.imgur.com/xYc1vHg.jpg

So I’m looking for some people to activity share with! I just got an S3 Jan. 24th and none of my friends own an Apple Watch it’s pretty depressing, hoping to make some friends with this!

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 07:51 AM PST

Do you start a workout for Everytime you have an "extended walk"? I walk my dog everyday and go for walks on my break at work, but I feel like I'm filling my phone up with workout data by doing this. Just wondering what everyone else does.

    Leather Loop annoying sound?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2018 10:51 PM PST

I just got a leather loop today and it makes this really annoying sound whenever I move my wrist even slightly, like all the magnets are jingling inside. Will this ever go away? The knockoff version I got from Amazon never did this and is actually more comfortable than the genuine one from Apple, IMO.

How and How often do you clean your Watch?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2018 04:40 PM PST

[Question] Left my Watch at home and now worried about my Stand circle!?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 04:06 AM PST

Have the Watch for a little over a month now, and I'm in a 31 day streak which I don't intend to break any time soon. This morning however I did some dishes and forgot to put my Watch back on before leaving the house, and I only get home later tonight. Am I still gonna be able to close the stand circle based on the sensors in my iPhone or I should just wave goodbye to my streak =(
