As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly. This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists. Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried. In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue. Two examples of potential questions could be; "How do I learn to code an app?", or "How is app pricing determined?" Developers, please include as much information about your app as possible, including size, price, release info, and anything else people request. Finally, please stick to reddiquette and keep your comments on topic and substantive. Thanks for participating. Ask away! [link] [comments]

Apple unlocked their NFC chip to developers. Posted: 02 Feb 2018 03:55 AM PST I just read an article that claims, that iOS 11.2 just let developers use the iPhone NFC chip. Does it means, it can be used to create apps to pay bills and such without Apple Pay or is just for another kind of services? [link] [comments]

I finally upgraded to the 8 plus and holy cow is this Darth Vader’s phone or what? Posted: 02 Feb 2018 05:09 AM PST After many years of having a white-faced iPhone, I decided to go to the dark side. I hadn't really looked at an 8 plus up close so I didn't really much about it aesthetically. But holy Toledo did they make a black phone! It's just a perfect seamless slab of black. It looks like polished obsidian. I'm reminded of the ship that Zaphod steals in the garage at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe: It was a ship of classic, simple design, like a flattened salmon, twenty yards long, very clean, very sleek. There was just one remarkable thing about it. "It's so ... black!" said Ford Prefect, "you can hardly make out its shape ... light just seems to fall into it!" Zaphod said nothing. He had simply fallen in love. The blackness of it was so extreme that it was almost impossible to tell how close you were standing to it. "Your eyes just slide off it ..." said Ford in wonder. It was an emotional moment. He bit his lip. Zaphod moved forward to it, slowly, like a man possessed - or more accurately like a man who wanted to possess. His hand reached out to stroke it. His hand stopped. His hand reached out to stroke it again. His hand stopped again. "Come and feel the surface," he said in a hushed voice. Ford put his hand out to feel it. His hand stopped. "You ... you can't ..." he said. "See?" said Zaphod, "it's just totally frictionless. This must be one mother of a mover ..." Anyway, no one I know in real life gives a shit about phones and HHGG so I'm sharing this with y'all. Have a pleasant day. [link] [comments]

Question for Spotify users. Is there a way to increase the number of songs saved in my library? Posted: 02 Feb 2018 07:07 AM PST I've received a message from Spotify that I have an epic collection of music but it told me I had the maximum number of songs in my library (I think I have 10,000). Is there any way to increase that number? I use the library as a way to not forget about an artist or album. If I delete an old album to add a new album, I might not remember the old one and that frustrates me. I can understand limiting downloads for offline play, but i only have a small number of albums downloaded. Any advice appreciated. [link] [comments]
iPhone X users without a screen protector Posted: 02 Feb 2018 12:37 AM PST Do you also notice that the screen gets hairline scratches WAY easier than previous models or is it just my phone? My previous iPhone was the 6S and it had ONE scratch on and that scratched was caused by myself (meaning that I know how it happened). I'm baffled at how my iPhone X got 6 hairline scratches on it and it is only 2 months old. [link] [comments]

I wish iOS had a better EQ... or at least explained their current one Posted: 02 Feb 2018 06:17 AM PST It kinda drives me crazy that you have no clue what each preset is doing. I wish They had some sort of graphic so you could see what's going on instead of just having to click and listen to each of them. Or... they should just include an EQ rather than presets. Just my two cents [link] [comments]

Any cool apps only possible on iPhone X Posted: 02 Feb 2018 04:57 AM PST Just got the X and wanted to know if there's any cool apps that utilize the features the X has that other phones don't. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Hundreds of photos and videos taken on my iphone Posted: 02 Feb 2018 08:24 AM PST This morning I woke with around 500 photos and videos in my camera roll. It was all of the ceiling because I laid my iPhone's screen down. At first I thought it was my apple watch that accidentally took the photos/videos but I had it on the charging stand. Has anyone had this issue before? screenshot of the photos/videos [link] [comments]
iPhone 8+ iOS 11.2.5 - now cars don't recognize media on device Posted: 02 Feb 2018 09:33 AM PST Installed iOS 11.2.5 on my iPhone 8 Plus today, now two different cars cannot read music from the phone. Ford C-Max and Honda HR-V. Both detect the phone, the phone starts charging, but time out attempting to read music and then remove the iPhone as a source. Swapped cables and no change. Not a problem last night but today it is - only difference is 11.2.5. If I have the phone connected, change the source to iPhone on the car, and then press play, the sound comes out of the built-in speakers on the phone. Anyone else having this issue? why apple stick to a 1A adapter and leave the fast charging market to other company Posted: 02 Feb 2018 12:48 AM PST I still wondering why Apple leaves this market to other company like Anker. this is a big market. And what Apple needs is to find a reliable partner in China. I bought some fast charger from Amazon. almost all of them come from China. some of them are well made and they are more like artworks. I do wish Apple can stop being stupid and offering us a cheap and stronger standard adapter which come within the pack [link] [comments]
Keyboard lag issues - anyone else Posted: 02 Feb 2018 07:13 AM PST I've been iOS for numerous generations. But iOS 11 is making me ready to toss the phone out the window. Has anyone encountered keyboard lag when doing basic typing. Nothing exotic, just sending an iMessage? It started for me after a restore when trying to fix another unrelated issue. (Which Apple didnt fix... I digress...) Everything is up to date, 11.2.5 [link] [comments]
Is the iPhone 8 plus a good purchase? Posted: 02 Feb 2018 01:01 AM PST Hi, I fairly recently switched from my old iPhone SE to Android (A Oneplus 5t). The dream was to run a google free Android but it turned out to be more hassle than its worth, so I want to return to the simplicity and security of iPhone. Ideally I wanted to spend as little as possible and was thinking about a 6 /6s, but I love taking pictures and use my phone as my primary camera so was thinking about jumping to an 8+ (and using the cameras to justify the cost). I guess what I'd like to know is, is the camera jump from earlier phones good enough to warrant the extra cost (along with any other features). I'm also curious to anyone's thoughts on a 7+ over an 8+. I'm not really interested in an X, £1000+ for a phone is really to much for me. Any input appreciated [link] [comments]
