Apple should offer an oleophobic service for iPhones Posted: 30 Jan 2018 05:35 PM PST I just picked up my iPhone X last week after having the 6S+ for a couple of years and I forgot how nice it is having a smooth screen that doesn't get smudged when you look at it. Is it not possible to quickly reapply the coating, or is there another reason Apple doesn't offer this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 07:24 AM PST I've been using iPhones since they first came to Canada. Now more than ever, the App Store is filled with great apps from great developers. But my two most frequently used productivity apps have always been Mail and Calendar. I can't count how many mail apps I've gone through. Spark, Airmail, Polymail, Edison just to name a few. For calendars, I've tried Fantastical and Tiny Calendar. I've also tried combo apps like Outlook. Somehow, I keep coming back to the stock apps. When it comes to Mail, it's the stability and background stuff that only the native app can provide and it's the only one I've found to give me a stable enterprise/Exchange experience. With Calendars it's the locations. Other calendar apps just simply don't auto recommend the address/place as well as the native app does. I'm open to trying other apps. Anyone have any other recommendations to replace the stock Mail and Calendar apps? [link] [comments]
Help! My alarm won’t work. (iPhone 6s Plus) Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:45 AM PST I've tried everything. It's becoming really annoying. For the record: Yes, my sound is on. Yes, my volume is up. Yes, the alarms themselves work when you get a preview when you choose an alarm in the settings. Yes, I've tried resetting the app. Yes, my phone is up to date. (I think it's 11.2.5?) Yes, I've tried resetting my settings. And, finally, I tried restoring my phone last night. Still won't work. Anyone have any ideas? [link] [comments]
iPhone disappeared during USPS shipping, what can I do? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 07:54 AM PST I recently sold my used iPhone on Swappa. Before shipping it I wiped the phone, removed my SIM, packed it up, and sent it USPS priority with signature confirmation. Despite this, the phone was never scanned once I dropped it off in the USPS secure drop off bin and the package has never been seen since. USPS has no idea where it is and won't let me file a claim since it was never scanned. My question is: Given that I have the phone's ESN (and maybe IMEI), what can I do? Obviously there's no "find my iPhone" tracking since I wiped it, but is there any way to find out whether the phone was stolen and somebody is using it, or if it's simply lost? Will reporting it stolen do anything aside from me having the satisfaction of knowing that a thief is not using it? If I report it as stolen and the buyer gets it 2 months from now, will the buyer be able to use the phone? Can I even report it as stolen given that I don't technically own it anymore now that the buyer and I exchanged money and I transferred ownership to her? Any advice would be appreciated. Gmail push notifications with Mail app Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:04 AM PST Hi guys, I have a new iPhone X running the latest version of iOS. I'm having an issue with Gmail notifications. I'm currently using the default Mail application, but I've noticed that I'm not getting real-time notifications for new emails on my Gmail account. I have enabled "Push" (Settings>Accounts & Passwords>Fetch New Data) and have selected "Automatically" under "Fetch," but I don't see a "Push" option for my Gmail account, only "Fetch." Whereas my iCloud mail account has options for both "Push" and "Fetch." Can someone help me figure this out? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Why does brightness always change on iPhone SE? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 09:12 AM PST Hello. I've been having the problem where the brightness on my iPhone increases after I bring the bar thing all the way down. The brightness also changes when I don't touch the brightness bar. I also want to go back to IOS 9 And how can I stop the update notifications? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Podcast Apps and Bluetooth Headphones Posted: 31 Jan 2018 09:09 AM PST Apologies if this has been asked before (I've searched and I'm not readily seeing an answer)... Are there any bluetooth headphones that allow you to use Skip Back/Skip Ahead functions within a podcast? Not skipping entire tracks, but jumping ahead and back, say, 15, 30, 45 sec, etc. I use Overcast, and I'm able to jump around within a track using the wired earpods, but not with either of my two bluetooth headphones (Anker and Taotronics). Is it app specific? Does bluetooth just not allow this in general, perhaps because of the wireless lag? Thanks for your help. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:44 AM PST I need a new ringtone. Something chill that isn't crazy or cringy. It should be tolerable without getting a cringe attack on the bus. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:20 AM PST Every time I try to download a new app and then enter my password the thinking circle comes up and then it asks for my password again over and over again. This doesn't allow me to download any new apps. Anybody have any idea why my iPhone is doing this or any solutions? [link] [comments]
Apple News CNN Notification About Hawaii Missile Repeating Posted: 30 Jan 2018 02:14 PM PST Anyone else experiencing this? I'm on iPhone X and iOS 11.2.5. I keep getting an alert and top down notification about the Hawaii missile story over and over from the News app. I've closed the app but still I get notifications. Driving me crazy. Edit: how coincidental that news about an accidental notification went out causing accidental notifications. [link] [comments] |
