Dropped my iPhone 6 (ios 10.3.2... I think), can I restore my data to a new phone? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 10:06 PM PST Dropped my iPhone 6 (had it since launch). The screen itself did not break, but it went black and white, full of horizontal and vertical lines, and the screen was unresponsive in places. I backed up an hour ago to iTunes. Now the screen has gotten worse, almost completely black, so I can't even punch in the passcode to upgrade it through iTunes. So frustrating.... I don't use iCloud backup, so that's not an option. If I get a new phone tomorrow, is it possible to still transfer the data from the older iOS? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 07:20 PM PST I have an iPhone 6s Plus, its fairly new as I got it brand new in my contract with AT&T. But that's not my issue. My issue is that when I got my phone, out of the box it was running iOS 10.3.3 One day my phone was downloading the software update as I hit it accidentally (foolish of me I know) and it later installed iOS 11. Is there anyway that someone could upload the SHSH blobs in Google Drive or something for the iPhone 6s Plus that I could use so I don't get the error message pertaining to Apple not signing this os no longer? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 04:53 PM PST My wife has an iPhone 6+ and both her front and back cameras do not work. We've been told that it's a software issue due to the cameras being separate from each other. Any idea if this is true? Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Bulk delete photos from iCloud, without an iOS/macOS device? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 02:13 PM PST A couple of months ago I changed from my iPhone 6 to Android, and since then I have reduced the storage plan I had with Apple. However I am now over my storage limit (I only have the free plan). I want to delete all of the photos stored in iCloud which will bring me well below the 5GB free limit, however I am on windows and haven't yet found a way to bulk delete photos. I have over 8000 photos so obviously don't want to go through one by one deleting them. The only way I can see to do it is through an iOS device (or macOS which I also don't have) Any ideas? Activated Unlocked iPhone 6 with T-Mobile SIM, Now Displaying No SIM Posted: 15 Jan 2018 09:58 AM PST I bought a used 'unlocked' iPhone 6 off of ebay and I took the SIM out of my 5s and put it in the 6. I went through the process of setting it up and it activated the phone. For a while on the 6, it showed TMobile in the top left corner, but now it says No SIM. I have tried updating to the latest iOS but nothing is helping. Is it possible I bought a phone that was not unlocked? If that's the case, how was I able to activate the phone with my TMobile SIM if the phones on a different network? I don't think its a problem with the SIM card as it works fine in my 5s. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

Contacts in Messages are now appearing as phone numbers instead of contact names. Posted: 15 Jan 2018 07:25 AM PST I was having issues with Files so I logged out of iCloud to reset it. Since then all my contacts in Messages appear as phone numbers and not as their names. I've rebooted several times. Is there a known solution for this other than trying to logged out of iCloud again? Two other things. (1) When phone is locked, the person's contact name appears correctly until I unlock the phone. (2) Some messages are no longer appearing on my MacBook. [link] [comments] |
Why can’t I write reviews in App Store? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 07:13 AM PST I can give a star rating. But I can't actually write a review. I had this problem with my previous iPhone, too, so I know it's not just my phone acting up. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 05:55 AM PST Microphone works when recording videos with the default camera app but nowhere else. Doesn't work during a call or a trying to record a snapchat video. Anyone got a fix? Since it actually works in one app it seems like a software problem. I think a factory reset might fix it but if theres a different solution I'd rather do that. [link] [comments] |

iPhone 7 Plus screen unresponsive. Posted: 15 Jan 2018 01:34 AM PST So I updated to 11.2.2 and the night of this update my screen gave up. It was particularly unresponsive and I forced a restart. It seemed to help for about 10 mins or less and then it reverted back to being unresponsive both times I restarted it. It even locked me out for 15 mins because it kept pressing ok when I'd try to input my passcode! I've since disabled the passcode because I knew this problem would persist. So finally hours later it's back to normal. I get off work and it's back to being unresponsive to an extent. I can't delete stuff, some keys don't pick up touch etc. Certain parts of the screen just don't react to touch at all. The center of the screen is the most responsive tbh, and that's a stretch. I just noticed a couple minutes ago that the right side of the screen will flicker when I'm trying to touch the screen near there. Is the screen going out or something? Before the update all I had was keyboard lag. I'm not a fan of rebooting the phone and starting fresh because people have done it and it changes nothing. Is this connected to the update, is the screen aftermarket, or is this a hardware problem that I have to get checked out at the Genius Bar/cellphone repair shop? [link] [comments] |
