I just had a few ideas for the subreddit, and I wanted to know what the community thinks.

Hey everyone. I've been poking around iOSgaming for quite a while now, and I just wanted to have a solid discussion with people about a couple things I thought might organize the subreddit a little more and add some fun to the community.

Lately there have been a lot of questions about what games people should buy and what they're interested in, and I've seen a few ideas floating around in different posts. But what if every week there was a pinned post for people to ask for what they should get next? Currently on the front page of r/iosgaming 14/25 posts are questions looking for new games or specific games. I think a pinned recommendation thread would be a pretty streamlined way to clean up the subreddit where regulars can check it out and try to help people with ideas and recommendations. Just my two cents, but I wanted to know if anyone else had any other ideas that could be better.

One other thing I was thinking might be a fun way to get the community talking more and playing together would be if we had something like an app genre of the week. I don't mean like some tyrannical rule where you can only post about games of a certain genre, but rather a second sticky post that changes every week that focuses on a single genre where people can post their favorites games from that genre and everyone can search the app store for similar games. Examples of these could be:

    • Room Escape
    • Dark Soulslike
    • isometric turn-based
    • Gacha
    • sci-fi puzzle
    • RPG deck building

Things that are more specific than genres you might find on the actual app store and can help people discover new games, give us a little bit of a focus each week, and maybe build up more of a community that isn't just people asking for recommendations and posting when a new game is out.

But at the end of the day, it's up to everyone here. I mean if everyone shows some interest in it I'm sure the mods would comply or that everyone could work together to fine tune the environment. And if there's no interest then hey that's fine too. But nothing ventured nothing gained so I just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are.

    Thanks for your time guys.

Just picked up XCOM Enemy Within after all these years of hype, but...

    Posted: 20 Jan 2018 06:30 AM PST

Love it so far, but I'm on my first mission (Abductions in Massachusetts or something like that, not the China mission). Anyhow, I'm instructed to get in the roof for an elevated tactical position, so I climb a drain pipe, shoot a rocket, etc. Now I'm supposed to explore the area, but can't get my man off the roof. The movement boxes show on the ground level, and I can select them, but the move button doesn't come up. What am I missing? Also, the two finger swipe elevation change hasn't seemed to work at all, I just have to tap around a bunch to get it to select the roof, and not the interior area. Any help?

Onmyoji Releases Global 25 January 2018

    Posted: 19 Jan 2018 10:25 PM PST

Post on their official Facebook, https://facebook.com/Onmyojigame/.

Been playing the soft launch daily and has very similar elements to Summoners War. Gacha is typical rates for higher rarity characters, but not necessary to progress at a good rate. In fact, most PvP and PvE team comps utilize farmed/lower rarity characters. Biggest factor for progression i would say is time. More time invested = more exp, money, etc for a powerful roster. Event going on right now gives you 'Ubume' which is one of the best characters, and can carry you to higher tier content if not highest if built correctly.

Overall it's decently F2P friendly and paying money just makes things more convenient, collection or cosmetics.

Full disclosure: Currently level 33, I've put in $50 and gotten 5 SSR shikigami from luck and still get rolled in PvP and PvE content compared to full F2P players that are high 30s cause they built their team correctly .___.

    Did anybody try Valhalla Hills?

The game looks quite fun for £4 and I was wondering if it's the same as the PC version but with lower graphics. Any opinions?
