I have an iPhone, I went onto their contact and selected "block this caller" hoping that would stop them being able to text and call me. Unfortunately, they keep adding me to a group chat. If I leave, I just re-added straight away. Turning off notifications isn't really good enough when I'm trying to block this person. Is there any way I can block this group chat/not be added back? | Numbers instead of titles for music Posted: 24 Jan 2018 08:31 PM PST So I've got a problem with one of my albums in the Apple Music app. I bought an album, the Original Broadway recoding of Hamilton, and recently the titles of some songs were strings of numbers instead of words. The songs all play perfectly still. I'd rather not have to pay for it again but idk what else to do. Any suggestions? iPhone 7 on the latest iOS update but it's been like that for a while. | iTunes showing genres instead of song title in albums Posted: 24 Jan 2018 06:00 PM PST On many artists/albums my iTunes is now showing a list of genres (ex. Contemporary Pop\Rock/Adult Alternative) instead of the song name. If viewing by songs, or playing a track, it shows the correct song name. But unless you memorize which track is a particular song, album/artist view is currently useless. https://i.imgur.com/rYO1Z5Z.png Edit: screenshot shows the track list as genres, but the track playing has the correct title. I never saw this problem on my old iPhone 6, but I recently upgraded to an 8 with more space & uploaded more of my library. Most of my library is ripped by me off of CDs using dBpoweramp CD Ripper. Posted: 24 Jan 2018 09:33 PM PST Hi All, As mentioned I have a MacBook Pro "Core i7" 15" Late 2013 (IG) I know the SSD is bad - once removed I am able to boot into recovery or OS X install although I found today it seems like the logic board has some damage as well. It will only stay on when plugged in and always say 77% charge. I have reset the EMC/ETC I believe the CMOS or whatever apples equivlent is has gone bad or shorted as it cannot keep the date either if the charger is unplugged. The screen and other various parts seems fine - anywhere I can unload this thing instead of just tossing it? I would feel bad just throwing it away. Also worth noting when I run DIAG's it only finds an issue with the storage.. no mention of logic board or battery. Thanks [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 24 Jan 2018 09:11 PM PST The past few weeks there have been two programs running on my computer randomly that is using around 194% CPU. it will start overheating and Ill have to force quit it. I did accidentally download malware like 6 months ago, I thought I removed it all since I haven't had any issues since. I haven't downloaded anything recently and I can't seem to find this program anywhere else besides the Activity Monitor. One of them is "BF3F4...(continuous random letters and numbers" and the other "BF4..." Any advice? how can I find the source and remove it? thanks! [link] [comments]  |
| Photos Immediately Leaving Phone after iCloud Upload Posted: 24 Jan 2018 08:51 PM PST When I take a new photo on my iPhone 6, as soon as it uploads to iCloud, it removes itself from my phone. I can still view the picture (from the cloud), but if I want to do anything with it, like send it to a friend, it has to re-download it. Meanwhile, there are many very old pictures living my phone (and in the cloud). Is there any way to tell my phone to put older pictures in the Cloud-only, and keep newer ones on my phone for ease of sharing? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| Steam DMG not opening. Need help!!! Posted: 24 Jan 2018 06:57 PM PST So, this week I had issues with steam (gaming platform), where it would just freeze on me. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall it. After getting rid of all the steam files, I downloaded the dmg off the website. But now, whenever I try to open the dmg, it won't mount. When I double click it, it will have the zooming out animation, but nothing will open. I tried opening it with Zipeg as well, but it says file corrupted. I trashed the dmg and redownloaded it multiple times as well, but to no avail. Help appreciated!!! [link] [comments]  |

So I was given DisplayPort to USB-C cables but only one monitor is actually registering with the MacBook, the other remains blank.I checked and both monitors do indeed work. | My MacBook has been trying to boot up for 42 minutes. Posted: 24 Jan 2018 09:55 AM PST The progress bar filled about 10 minutes ago, but I still see the Apple logo. I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro. I updated the software a few nights ago to whatever the latest update is. (I forget the exact version number and can't check it while my computer won't turn on. It was already at high sierra though.) The update reboot took forever, but it was updating so I figured it was fine. Today was the first time I turned the machine off. When I tried to turn it back on, it won't go past the gray screen with the apple logo. The progress bar steadily filled and then just....nothing. The fan is whirring pretty hard. I've had a few issues in the past few years that suggests an SMC reset. I googled a bit today about MacBooks taking forever to boot, and again SMC reset was suggested. However, my left shift key is broken and no one has been able to fix it. It's been broken since around 2013 I think, so I haven't been able to do an SMC reset in that time. Recently updated to an SSD and more RAM so I decided to also finally update the OS. Currently running OS X 10.9.5. I started download High Sierra the other night and it got about 75% or so on the loading bar and stopped for awhile. So I canceled the download and was going to restart it using an ethernet cable for a better connection. Now the app store is saying that the High Sierra is already installed and won't let me click the download button. But About This Mac is telling me I'm on 10.9.5, and everything looks the same as before. What can I do to complete or restart the installation of High Sierra? [link] [comments]  |

I'm considering paying more for a nicer one if it would mean some kind of warranty (assuming it would cover wear and tear?), but I haven't really been able to find out what apple's policies are. I have to use a windows PC for work now and want to see if it is possible to use this is TDM on my Imac. | How to highlight? Is there an equivalent of Shift Highligting for PC on a Mac? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 02:14 PM PST So on pc You can select a file and then go down a couple rows and hit shift then it will select everything in-between those to points. With Mac it seems like you have to drag to highlight which gets frustrating with a track pad only or hit command and select them singularly. Again gets frustrating with only a track pad. Just curious if there was another way like with the Shift select option that applies to folders in PC. So I know you can use shift when it is in list view but I like icons as I can see a little bit of the pic as I am dealing with high numbers of pictures. It wont hard reset because the apple logo wont come up even after holding the power + vol. button for 2 min. Can anyone help? Posted: 24 Jan 2018 01:51 PM PST So about two weeks ago I got a visa gift card from my aunt and used it on my iTunes account to make an in-app purchase on Tokyo Seventh Sisters for about $25. I then removed the card because it was almost empty. About a week later the App Store is basically begging me to add payment information to my account, and wouldn't let me download or update apps until I did. After two weeks I had an app that I had to update and put my credit card on my account. I really did not want to do this, I have a personal thing against credit cards. This morning I wake up to see an email receipt in my inbox saying it charged my credit card the same purchase I made on the gift card 2 weeks ago! Immediately I removed my credit card, but what do I do about the unwanted purchase? I've emailed Apple support, but no response. And I can't afford to throw away $25. [link] [comments]  |
