Posted: 01 Dec 2017 05:21 PM PST Does anyone know how to get the dictionary to appear in the data detector list? I used this feature quite often before I upgraded and would quite like to see it back. I'm tired of using it on a general word and siri "knowledge" pulling up a song for a band I've never even heard of on wikipedia. [link] [comments] |

Is it possible to double click on a PowerShell script and have the script executed? Posted: 02 Dec 2017 01:54 AM PST Hi All, I was wondering if someone knows how to create a link/shortcut or a way to execute PowerShell scripts by double clicking on it. What I want to achieve is to have a .ps1 script on my desktop or in a folder and be able to double click on it and have it executed. I tried to associate the .ps1 to the 'powershell.app' I could find in the Applications folder ( "/Applications/PowerShell.app") but that opens a terminal window where powershell is started and then nothing else happens. If anyone here know how to do this then it would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
High Sierra is a steaming pile of poo Posted: 01 Dec 2017 11:46 PM PST I finally updated my early 2015 to High Sierra about a week ago. Immediately started having issues with Bluetooth, the same problem a lot of other people are having - can't connect, connection drops, Bluetooth menu in menu bar is unresponsive etc, etc. The only thing that worked was a reboot, after which I could connect ONCE. If I disconnected my device and wanted to reconnect later on, I had to reboot. PRAM and SMC resets didn't help. So I reinstalled HS but the problem persisted. Finally had enough yesterday and did a clean install, no restore from backup or anything. Still Bluetooth issues, the only difference being that Wifi now refuses to work as well. Which appears to be another fairly common problem with HS. PRAM and SMC resets didn't work, so I did another reinstallation. Still nothing. Wifi is working beautifully on all other devices in the house, Apple or otherwise. So for science I tried updating my GFs Air (late 2015) to HS. Guess who now has Bluetooth issues? Fuck you Apple and fuck you High Sierra. Just fix it. It's a common problem and have been around for a good while now. [link] [comments] |
Sierra Vs High Sierra Audio Drivers Posted: 01 Dec 2017 12:45 PM PST I checked my system information and there's Intel High Definition Audio present on Sierra, but after upgrading to High Sierra Intel Drivers from System Information went missing. I'm just concerned if it affects any audio performance or is it normal behavior to hide those drivers info in high Sierra? I have a MacBook Pro 2017 ntb. screens: https://imgur.com/a/neRvt [link] [comments] |

What is going to happen if I download Sierra this way? Posted: 01 Dec 2017 12:28 PM PST So after upgrading to High Sierra I have found that a couple programs I often use, like Antares, are not yet compatible with the 10.13 update. In my Launchpad, I found a shortcut icon that said "Install macOS Sierra" that I assume I just never got rid of. Clicking it brought me to the App Store, where it allowed me to download SIerra (10.12.6). It is currently downloading now. My question is, can I reinstall Sierra this way without losing data? What will happen/what will I be able to do once the download concludes? [link] [comments] |

How to uninstall Continuity Activation Tool (CAT)? Posted: 01 Dec 2017 10:19 AM PST For the life of me, I can't find anything to solve my issue. I'm trying to uninstall CAT but it always appears the same error. This doesn't let me uninstall the Tool. How do you guys do it? [link] [comments] |
NVIDIA drivers for a Mac mini 2012 Posted: 01 Dec 2017 07:28 AM PST Why my Bootcamp installed NVIDIA drivers for my Mac mini? Does it have any NVIDIA device in there? [link] [comments] |
Don't kill me, but I'm planning on buying a Mac Mini for my brother that's in middle school... Posted: 01 Dec 2017 12:17 PM PST I just need it to last 4 years but I'm not sure what specification to get him. I was thinking the base 699 model because he likes to do some light gaming such as Paladins but I'm not sure... What do you guys recommend? [link] [comments] |
iTunes is incredibly laggy on High Sierra Posted: 01 Dec 2017 07:27 AM PST I am using iTunes 12.7.1.14 on High Sierra 10.13.1 When clicking through albums, it lags and takes a second to actually load the album, making iTunes feel incredibly slow, to the point I do not even want to use it. I have a mid 2015 15" rMBP with 16GB Ram, with few to no apps even running. Restart doesn't help. It ran fine before High Sierra. It is reminiscent of upgrading an older phone to a new OS and it runs like piss. But my computer is in great shape, and all other apps run fine, for the most part. Has anyone had this problem, or found a fix? [link] [comments] |
Has MacOS High Sierra been fixed yet? Posted: 01 Dec 2017 05:25 AM PST When it launched, it took me about 5 minutes of browsing this sub (and in particular this thread to realize that there were still some major issues with it on launch. I'm checking in to see if those have been solved. If it counts, I'm running a late-2015 13" MBPr. Cheers! [link] [comments] |
