Amazon Prime Video now out on Apple TV! Posted: 06 Dec 2017 03:23 AM PST |
Thoughts from a former Android user Posted: 06 Dec 2017 02:14 PM PST I've been an android user for the past 6 years, and the iPhone X is my first iPhone.
Coming from old LG, HTC, and Samsung phones I can say that the iPhone X has the best build quality by far. I especially was pulled towards the iPhone X because it has a pretty big screen, but in a smaller form factor.
As far as software went I was a little concerned I would be missing some Android features, but that's not really the case usually.
I really don't have a whole lot to say about this so I'll be brief on this topic.
All other Apple apps aren't worth mention for me because I just flat out don't use them. I still use stuff like Alarm clock, but every phone is pretty much equal on these things.
Another brief section, but I really couldn't skip over it. Third Party Apps on iPhone are pretty much exactly the same. My one gripe though is when an App isn't optimized for iPhone X I die a little bit on the inside. I thought it wouldn't bother me, but when I'm holding my phone and about 25% of the screen isn't utilized it really hurts.
Just little things I wanted to mention
TLDR: iPhone X is amazing. I love the hardware, the software is also pretty good, but could use a little work. And Third Party Apps need to seriously step up their game. If I had to rate this phone I'd give it a 9/10, I'd say the hardware is all there, but the software is still lagging behind a little bit. But this is by far the best phone I've ever used. I know this was a really long post and I don't know if it'll help anyone, but I think it might help Android users that are on the edge. I've also edited this a couple times for formatting to make it a little more structured. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] |

I wish Siri could be bilingual... Posted: 06 Dec 2017 04:37 PM PST I mean, I'd love to be able to ask her to play a song in english and then reply to my text messages in french. There are a lot of people who speak frequently in both english and their first language! I feel like this would be super interesting for them. Anyone knows if it is currently possible to do? Or if today's technology can be good enough for that? [link] [comments] |

Went from a 6 to an X, not sure what features I’ve gained? Posted: 06 Dec 2017 07:25 PM PST Just got an iPhone X, really excited. So far everything is great but I'm hoping to get an idea of features or things you guys like that I may not know about being a few generations back. I'm doing a fresh install. So all apps will be downloaded as I go. Only thing I've noticed other than physical features is haptic feedback. All though I thought it would trigger a bit more, but I'm not really sure what my expectations were, I like it. Love the cursor move within the keyboard, amazing. Could anyone recommend some cool tips and tricks after missing out on 3 years of hardware. I have an Apple Watch series 2. I have only started using iOS 11, since the X. Thanks everyone! Damn this camera is sick! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Dec 2017 08:24 PM PST I've had mine since January 2017 and they're easily the best purchase I've made this year. I almost always have them in my ears since I'm mostly at home and or shopping alone when not in school. However, I noticed the battery on mine never lasted the advertised 5 hours for sole music listening. I don't use Siri and don't use them for phone calls. Even from the beginning, it was apparent that there was something wrong especially with the left Pod which only lasts 2-3 hours, the right however can manage extending to 4 hours, but that's it. Not to mention, when putting them in the case, the battery percentage almost always immediately jumps to ~80% So, I'm wondering about everyone else's usage of the AirPods? Can you manage to use them for long, consecutive hours without putting them in the case? How did your battery wear from the beginning up to the present? [link] [comments] |
Touch ID vs. Face ID - Your opinion after 1 month of using the iPhone X Posted: 06 Dec 2017 02:47 AM PST After one month of using the iPhone X I thought it would be a good time to hear what early adopters think of the new authentication process compared to the old one. Which one do you prefer generally speaking? Here's my opinion: Although Face ID works great in most situations, even better than I had expected, it has its shortcomings. For me Touch ID is, generally speaking, the superior authentication method. Here's why:
That being said Face ID has advantages over Touch ID:
Edit: Thanks everyone for the great feedback ! Looks like a majority favors Face ID [link] [comments] |

Which is better? Notability v Goodnotes on 10.5" iPad Pro Posted: 07 Dec 2017 02:29 AM PST Just got a 10.5" iPad Pro with the smart keyboard and pencil and am currently in the process of installing a bunch of productivity apps but can't decide on which note-taking app is better. General Pros and Cons and overall experiences would be greatly appreciated. For what it's worth I'm a university student studying Political Science and Psychology. I currently add typed notes next to slides but would like the option to write next to them. I also have many meetings and would prefer good PDF annotation ability. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Dec 2017 10:18 PM PST It's the little details like this that make Apple amazing. Depending on what column you are scrolling on, the menu sound will pan to that side. I figured I'd share my moment of excitement! [link] [comments] |
