Anyone upgrading from Series 0 in the very near future? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 07:30 AM PST I'm looking for a Christmas Gift for my dad and think that a Series 0 would be great. I myself have one and would look to upgrade; however, I'm waiting until the new models are released to do that. If you're getting rid of one, let me know. I'm looking to pay around $100 or so as I'll still need to buy some bands for him. Thank you so much! [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Nov 2017 07:27 AM PST Apple Watch users of Reddit, I want to get a Watch this Christmas and I have a few questions. Note that I live in India, but will be buying online on the US Apple store (a friend of mine is visiting Seattle). So first, what are the advantages to getting the cellular version - given that no carriers in India support the cellular feature it would be useless right now. But is it worth having in general? I'm pretty confident one of the major carriers will add support in the next year or so. What about size? I have very thin wrists but long arms so the smaller one shouldn't look too out of proportion. But the larger one does have other advantages I can see - bigger display and better battery life is what I read online, but not sure if that would be worth the extra cost. And finally, are there nice bands from third-party accessory manufacturers? I really want a metal band but the ones that Apple has seem to be really expensive. Grateful for any and all advice on selecting and using an Apple Watch in general too, so happy to hear anything you think someone in the market should know :) [link] [comments]

The tiniest speck of a crack in my S3 Posted: 30 Nov 2017 07:22 AM PST **UPDATE: I got a photo of it. https://imgur.com/gallery/mcqsr Any thoughts on this? I'd appreciate the help. I tried to catch it, but wasn't meant to be. I dropped my Watch while putting it on this morning, and it landed face down hard on my wooden floor. About an hour later, I notice the tiniest speck of a crack. We're talking so tiny and really only visible because I know it's there. For you to find it without my assistance would take some time. It's basically in the center of the glass. I can't even really take a photo of it - you can't see it no matter how I aim the camera. My question to you is this: Not that I do it often, but will this have any effect on my ability to get the Watch wet? Like if I was to go swimming with it, would that be problematic or does this sound much more cosmetic in nature? I have AppleCare, but it doesn't sound like it's worth fixing if it's so tiny. That said, I know the rule when you get a teeny-tiny crack in your windsheld, and that's always get it fixed because what's teeny-tiny one moment will only grow into something more. Not sure if the Apple Watch is like a windshield, but obviously I want to do the right thing. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Stand reminders: still utterly inconsistent? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 03:16 AM PST They are switched on. My wheelchair setting is set to no. I do receive SOME stand notifications throughout the day. But still, every day, I miss several hours of my stand ring because despite not standing in a given hour, I don't seem to get the notification. During other hours of the same day, I WILL get notifications. It seems completely random. This morning I've missed 9am and 10am. I've been sat at my desk with notifications on, Do Not Disturn is definitely off, and I 100% did not receive stand reminders for those two hours, but I guarantee I will get one at some point today for a different hour. Does anyone else have this insanely inconsistent experience? Literally every day I am noticing hours I've missed whilst being absolutely convinced I was not notified about them. Am I just day-dreaming half my day and missing them / dismissing them without realising or are there others who experience this? EDIT: WatchOS 4.1(not 4.0), S3+Cellular [link] [comments]

Looking for a Reddit Complication. Posted: 29 Nov 2017 01:41 PM PST I'm looking for an app that's a cross between "Alerts for Reddit" and the iOS news app. Something that displays the top posts for chosen subreddits, as I don't need r/aww in my alerts. I get sick of the news app complication updating only every 24 hours or so. Even an hourly update would be fine by me. Upvote/downvote optional. Does anyone know of anything similar? Any digital watch faces with seconds? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 06:03 PM PST For my work, I need to accurately know the time (to the second), yet can't seem to find any digital watch faces (not analogue) that include them. The only exception I've found is the Activity Digital face has the option to include seconds, but I don't use the activity rings on my watch, so the rest of that watch face is worthless to me. Am I missing something, or is it really not possible to have hh:mm:ss displayed on an Apple Watch? It seems like it'd be the most basic function of a watch. [link] [comments]

Reading messages on my iPhone doesn’t dismiss them on my watch Posted: 29 Nov 2017 12:27 PM PST Hey all, Just started to have an issue with my Apple Watch. If I get a text message and read it on my phone, the red dot still remains at the top of the Apple Watch and if I use a message complication the numbers just keep going up. Yesterday I had 99+ for most of the day, making the notifications useless on the watch. Today I reset the watch and it is once again doing the same thing. Has anyone had this issue before? Feminine bands for space gray apple watch? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 06:56 PM PST Hey everyone! A while back I went with my mom to get her an Apple Watch at the Apple store, and to my surprise, she adamantly wanted a space gray watch. I told her that typically the silver or rose gold would go with a larger variety of bands and is probably more feminine, but she went with the gray series 2 (a few months back). FWIW, she had a jet black iPhone 7, but she wears the red silicone case on it. Anyway, she loves the watch but yesterday she told me she low-key regrets getting the gray because there are so many great bands for the silver or rose gold watch. So my question is... what are some nice feminine bands that go well with a 38mm space gray watch? [link] [comments] |
