There's still millions of apps that needs to be updated. I hope at least the popular ones get updated quickly.

My frustration with how most people perceive Face ID

    Posted: 31 Oct 2017 04:08 PM PDT

I used to be a google and android person all the way. I had the face unlock feature on the galaxy nexus in 2011 and face unlock in all the later android phones I got. To me it was a bit of a gimmick.

HOWEVER, I'm very much looking forward to Face ID especially after looking at reviews of the iPhone X.

Now my frustration is that first of all, as usual close minded fanboys will just attack anything on the other side of the fence such as Face ID by saying "1000 dollars for something we had 6 years ago, stupid sheeple" but it's the ignorance that frustrates me, to me Face ID is radically different than face unlock on android, the use of dots by the 3D depth sensing camera to pinpoint the shape and depth of your face is innovation enough for me. I remember unlocking my dads s8 by using a picture of him on my iPhone.

But that's fanboys, and then there are YouTubers who say that "we know androids had this for years and years but hey apples never the first they're the first to make it mainstream". I get that I really do, Apple is rarely ever the first but with Face ID i really think it's subtantially better and shouldn't solely just be credited for 'making Face unlock mainstream'

    Rant over

    iPhone X and 120 Hz

    Posted: 31 Oct 2017 07:28 AM PDT

I've already noticed some people getting confused by the reviews that correctly mention 120 Hz when talking about iPhone X.

They're not saying iPhone X has a ProMotion display like the most recent generation of iPad Pros. What they're trying to get across is that user input is sampled at 120 Hz, allowing taps, swipes, motions and gestures to be even smoother than on previous iPhones where input was sampled at the standard 60 Hz.

TL;DR - Does this mean video and the display itself will look smoother? No. But it does allow for touching and interacting with the display to feel smoother.

In the emoji keyboard, Apple should make a 'new' section, which displays all the new emojis that were released in the latest update

Saves having to scroll through all the emojis trying to find the new ones.

When downloading an app on iPhone X, instead of home button Touch ID it’s a double click of power button and then Face ID does the rest.

    Posted: 31 Oct 2017 05:26 PM PDT

All the videos I kept seeing compared it to the +, I wanted to see how much more screen I would be getting.

So far this is the best comparison video I have seen and wow.. it looks like a big step up in screen size even if its not that much wider:

Camping for the X - Store inside info

    Posted: 31 Oct 2017 04:20 PM PDT

Today I visited an Apple Store and had the chance to talk with one of the specialists. He shared that they had today their meeting to update on the proceedings and arrangements for Friday. At the store where I was they shared this:

    1. The location doesn't allow them to let people form a line days before, so people would be allowed to start a line around 2-ish am on Friday, probably would be better to be there Thursday night.

    2. Around 4:30 am they will come out and check in people, meaning if they have 30 iPhone X, the first 30 people will have one reserved. This doesn't mean that they can leave the line, if your turn comes and you are not there, bye bye.

    3. Doors will open at the usual time.

Hope this helps to anyone planning on camping, my advice, visit or call your local Apple Store, ask for the manager and talk about their plans for launch day.

ps. They say that they have a specific stock for business accounts, so check that out, if you have one. Best to you.

EDIT: Also, by phone, a person from Apple said that the "purchased" is not billed until it is shipped, so you can cancel it before, or even return the device after delivered. With this, he meant that going to get it thru your Business account or by camping at the store, you still have a backup. I believe you can order it online and mention that is for your business (but I guess you would have to open a business account with Apple before).
