What's the best way to care for screen on rMB 12in? What screen protector would you recommend? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:47 PM PST I recently had to get my rMB screen replaced because there were permanent keyboard marks on it. What's the best way to clean and care for the screen so that it doesn't get scratches from the keyboard and other causes. Is there a screen protector that you recommend? Has anyone tried Mr Shield Screen Protector? Thanks! [link] [comments]
About upgrading my new MacBook Pro to High Sierra Posted: 30 Nov 2017 04:47 PM PST Hi! So my MacBook is prompting me to install the new High Sierra update but it wants ~ 6 gb. Is there any way I can download this without it just eating up 6 gb? For example, when you download iOS through iTunes on a computer it doesn't eat up storage because you did it through a computer. Is there a way I can also update my MacBook and get those 6 gbs back? Thanks! [link] [comments]

General Fix-Up/Refurbishment for my Macbook Pro 13" 2011 Posted: 30 Nov 2017 10:18 AM PST My Macbook Pro has been strong and standing through 6 years of so much wear and tear, and I feel very satisfied with it's performance, however I do worry about it's age, internally everything is solid, but I really do want to get it, just generally looked at and fixed up, make sure everything is good under the hood. Its missing a couple rubber feet, there are scuffs and scratches on the body, hinge is loose, back part is kinda funky, and overall I'm worried it might shit the bed one day. How would I go about getting this done? P.S: There are no Genius Bars in my area, only "Authorised Apple Service Centres" Which are commonly regarded as massive ripoffs, takes your computer for 3-4 weeks and charges $300 for a battery replacement for example, when a independent repair shop can get it done in an hour for $100. Posted: 30 Nov 2017 10:00 AM PST Hi. I have a 2013 MacBook Air that has had problems since at least last year with the fan speeding up and macbook going too slow to use. Eventually it fixes itself but I sent it in for repair last year. One morning I came down and there was a smell that something had burnt beside the left USB port. Again this week my macbook started smoking from the same back corner. Just last month the backlight stopped working and I've been using it connected to an external display. I've been on the phone about both problems but it's out of warranty now. Currently it displays when connected to an external display but the fan is loud and MacBook very slow to use. I spoke with Apple on the phone about the smoke. They seemed to suggest it was something to do with me taking the back off the macbook last year when the initial problems were happening, but the only way to turn it off was to disconnect the battery which I had already told them about multiple times and the back had definitely been removed prior to the last repair. I asked what I should have done in that situation and he said let the battery die which I think is pretty unsafe considering it had already burnt and had a fast running fan. Has anyone had a similar experience with smoke or the loud fan and slow computer? Just the burning has happened twice now so I expect it could happen again unless I fix it. I don't think Apple will help and I've already had the back off so I want to see if it's repairable especially the backlight because I'm guessing the fan problem will correct itself eventually as it usually does. Also I've looked at the water sensors and they're all white including beside where the burning smell is coming from so I don't think this is due to moisture. Thanks [link] [comments]
[Question] Keyboard Upgrade MacBook Pro Posted: 30 Nov 2017 08:26 AM PST Hey there! Is it anyhow possible to upgrade the previous generation MacBook Pro Retina's keyboard to that of the new generation? I love the new keyboard for its look, feel, and lightening. I'd've done it even if it meant I had to order a custom framework just for its sake. [link] [comments]
Trouble with MacBook Pro trackpad Posted: 30 Nov 2017 08:12 AM PST Hello everyone, I've had my MacBook Pro for about 2 1/2 years now and really haven't had any issues until now. Yesterday my trackpad started doing the weird spazzing motion with the pointer which kind of looks like lag. So when I stop moving the pointer it will continue going by jumping a few times. Sometimes it will do phantom clicks like opening my Launchpad or zooming in and out on a webpage. Only difference I've noticed is my Mac is getting hotter quicker but every thing was fine until this happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
Can't delete songs off iPhone in iTunes Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:32 AM PST After getting the new MacBook I'm not able to delete songs off my iphone in itunes. I hit delete and nothing happens. Google says "select preferences/general/swipe to delete" but no such option appears when I open preferences... [link] [comments] |
