| Posted: 25 Oct 2017 06:23 PM PDT So I've had this phone for about 6 months now, which means it's still under warranty. We also pay to have insurance on it. The other day it fell hanging from an aid cord at about 6' off the ground and landed flat on the screen on a concrete surface. The screen is shattered, there are chunks of glass missing, you get the point. So my mom has an email saying since it's under both it will be fixed for free or replaced. The cameras don't work, and my flashlight doesn't work, and when I'm on the phone it makes popping sounds. So I think they will just have to give me a new phone. But do I have to go to an Apple store (about an hour and a half away) or can I go to a local (15-30 mins) Best Buy or at&t store?? Thanks for your help. [link] [comments]  |

| Wanting to replace screen on iPhone 6 Posted: 25 Oct 2017 04:58 PM PDT I was doing some research on replacing the screen on my iPhone 6 but there are conflicting resources, and so I don't know what screen to buy on eBay. Sellers claim to have the digitizer and LCD but I am not sure if they will be sold together or separately. There are youtube repair videos where you have to change the proximity sensor/front-facing camera (JerryRigEverything) but on iFixit, you don't have to replace the metal plate behind the screen? I am confused to what to actually buy on eBay and if there is a difference, what I should go for? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 25 Oct 2017 04:49 PM PDT I try to check my App Store for updates before work every morning, and just noticed that I have to enter my password every time I update Apps, but I can buy new Apps with just the Touch ID. It seems strange that I can purchase new Apps so much more easily than updating Apps that I already own. I would think that they should, at minimum, have the same level of security...or the one that involves payments would have a higher mandatory security setting. Is there a way to update Apps in the App Store by using the Touch ID function? Maybe I'm just missing a setting or configuration option somewhere? [link] [comments]  |

I see the low battery icon when its plugged in, however when i try to boot it on all i see if the same thing nothing is working tried resetting it and all. | Storage is full but it doesn't add up Posted: 25 Oct 2017 12:05 PM PDT My phone keeps saying Storage is full. It's a 16gb 6. In Storage Management it says 11.6gb used, 300mb available. My text messages are at 2.5gb, photos at 800mb and the other 10 or so apps are under 100mb each. So how exactly is my storage full? There's nothing for me to delete. I've had the same apps and my text messages are only 2.5gb. Total storage of apps doesn't even total 1gb, so what gives? Edit: it's an iPhone 6, 16gb [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone SE sometimes crashes then deletes all my photos Posted: 25 Oct 2017 01:13 PM PDT Since iOS 11 every now and then my phone would lockup and be completely unusable. I would usually restart the phone and find that all my photos and videos have vanished and slowly start syncing from iCloud. | Old backup of iPhone 6 not showing up in iTunes on Macbook Pro 2012... Posted: 25 Oct 2017 12:07 PM PDT Hi All, Last year, I was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and, towards the end, I dropped my phone. My screen was shattered beyond repair, but I was able to plug the phone in, look at all my images/documents, and start a backup. I left my computer and phone in place for a while; when I came back, I had a "backup successfully completed" message. So I unplugged my phone, and traded it into my service provider for a new one. I have since been unable to locate this backup. It should have been around August of 2016, but the only backup I have in 2016 is from March! This has ALL of my photos from my trip and for a while, I just admitted that they must be lost. But I am certain that I got a message that the backup was successful. | iPhone Apple Watch, and car Bluetooth music issues Posted: 25 Oct 2017 10:47 AM PDT I hope you guys can help me out. I have an iPhone 7 and in my car i use Bluetooth to stream my music from Tidal. I just got the AW yesterday, and when I try to stream its very laggy. It "skips" and almost sounds like I'm typing on the keyboard. I have tried turning my watch off, or on ariplane mode, that didn't work. I tried restarting my phone that didn't work.I have also tried repairing with my car and that didn't work. The only thing that has worked so far is unpairing my watch or doing a hard reset on the phone. If I do a hard reset on my phone the next time I get in to my car its the same issue. Any ideas what it could be? Possibly related, when I get a text message, my phone stutters with the sound of it. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 25 Oct 2017 09:14 AM PDT I'm having trouble getting notifications from only one contact-the only one of my contacts I frequently communicate with who doesn't have an iPhone. The only way I can see if I've received a message is by pressing the home button, then the banner is there; however, the screen will not light up, the phone will not vibrate, AND I will not receive the notification on my watch. This issue started about a week ago, but I updated to iOS 11 the day it came out. I've also restarted my phone and watch (several times), checked that do not disturb is off for our conversation, disabled and re-enabled notifications, and anything else I could find online so far. Up until this point, I've had no problems with receiving alerts from this contact. It's particularly frustrating because I need to be in contact with this person regularly as we're in business together, so at this point I'm relegated to pressing the home button all day to ensure I don't miss any messages I haven't been alerted to. So I broke the screen on my iPhone 5S (all I see is a white light), that's fine, it was getting old anyways, however being the idiot I am, I forgot to back up the damn thing through iTunes. So this is usually not a big deal since most of my stuff was backed up through iCloud, BUT, I can't access my images on iCloud without going into the phone and confirming it. I don't mind losing a few images, however I do mind losing some important images like a backup code for snapchat. So my question is: is there a workaround here? I mean I could get the screen fixed, but I'd rather not since I plan on buying an iPhone 8 sooner or later. Thanks. [link] [comments]  |

My screen protector has been chipped in the corner (and a few other places) for quite some time, and has steadily been deteriorating, and now the actual bottom right corner of my screen is starting to peel off. Should I just try to remove the old screen protector and put a new one on to force that corner to stick back down, or do I have to replace the entire screen? [link] [comments]  |
