| Ipad apps not updating automatically Posted: 18 Oct 2017 09:38 AM PDT Hey everyone, I have an issue that's been going on for a while and even before IOS 11. Even though I have automatic updates turned on my apps don't update automatically. If my Ipad sits idle for a few days and I go to use it there will be a lot of updates sitting there waiting for me initiate. I've tried signing out and back in to itunes, I've also tried resetting to factory defaults. No matter what I do they won't update on their own. This happened on my Iphone 7 as well and I was able to fix it by doing a factory reset. Anyone have any ideas? [link] [comments]  | ||

I was going for the mini at Best Buy until I found the older pro on local Craigslist. Both wifi only. I've found the mini size perfect for kiddos too young for a phone and those of us that travel and use it for movie on planes and reading. Thanks in advance for your help/opinions. It doesn't show up as an offline file in either app but Files says its still stored locally, but not in "On My iPad" because I just hit the download icon rather than selecting "Save to Files". | Posted: 18 Oct 2017 03:57 AM PDT Hi all! I recently found my first gen iPad in a drawer, and I can't get it to turn on. It never stopped working, and it's cosmetically perfect, but when I upgraded I just popped it in a drawer and left it there. It hasn't been turned on in probably 5 years. When I plug it into a charger it goes to a black screen with the Apple logo on it, and then this flashes on and off every 30 seconds or so. I can't get it past this stage. | Personal Hotspot tethering on iOS 11 Posted: 17 Oct 2017 11:06 PM PDT Hey folks, If I'm remembering correctly, there used to be this option under wifi settings for the iPad to directly connect to the personal hotspot of my iPhone 7, without ever touching the iPhone. The iPad saw that the iPhone was nearby and will be able to tether for data and I just had to flip a switch to connect to it. I remember this working on one of the iOS 11 betas, though i forget which one. I'm on iOS 11.0.3 now on both devices and I never seem to have that option. I have to go to the personal hotspot option on the iPhone, even if the hotspot is already turned on. Only then do I see an option to connect to the hotspot as a normal wifi network on my iPad. Am i missing something? Is anyone else facing the same issue? What could I do to get that functionality back, other than just waiting for iOS to update. (I've already tried restarting both devices and logging out and back in to my iCloud account on both devices.) Cheers! [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 18 Oct 2017 07:25 AM PDT We'll be using iPads in a conference room to control AV, lighting, etc. We want these iPads to be mobile so nothing on the wall. I've been trying to find a docking station to hold the iPad upright when it's not in use and require the user to 'snap' it back into place forcing it to charge. I've found plenty of stands but the wire would just hang down and I know users would forget to plug it back in. That's why I'd prefer the style that requires positioning the iPad onto the charger port. All I can seem to find it Bluetooth speaker models. When the iPad is in its stand, it'll drain down to 80% on standby from full charge, I suspect it's from the screen getting lit from notifications, but I feel like sun's brightness still wouldn't drain the battery that fast. I went from 68% to 21% in 4 hours, the entire time watching YouTube videos, with Safari snapped to the side, however I was rarely browsing. What's your battery life like? [link] [comments]  | ||
