Found a picture of the iPhone X packaging Posted: 01 Oct 2017 06:16 PM PDT I was browsing Apple's website, and I noticed this image of the iPhone X's packaging included as part of the iPhone Upgrade Program imagery. This isn't anything groundbreaking by any means, I just found it surprising that Apple would show what the packaging looks like now, as that's usually something that's kept under wraps. Apple Pay coming soon to a Safeway store near you! Posted: 01 Oct 2017 06:56 PM PDT My local Safeway just enabled contactless payment. I tried it last night, and it worked great! According to Safeway's Twitter, all stores should have it working by the end of the month. [link] [comments] |
Left Apple Retail last month after 5 years, AMA Posted: 01 Oct 2017 07:40 AM PDT Since I'm not under an NDA about any internal processes, retail processes, sales numbers, launch plans, I can talk about anything you guys would want to know about working at Apple and how the retail stores functioned. Including the Genius Bar/forum I'll be active from now which is 10:40am ET I'll try to actively answer questions till 12pm ET [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Oct 2017 05:58 AM PDT I just bought AirPods a few days ago, and yesterday I realized that they smell like chapstick. Are they supposed to smell like this? If so, why? EDIT: I didn't use chapstick in my ears lol stop asking EDIT 2: I probably should've used a serious tag, but it felt good to wake up to 79 comments. [link] [comments] |

ios 11 is not what i thought it would be. Posted: 01 Oct 2017 06:56 AM PDT okay so i have a 7+ and i downloaded ios 11 thinking it would be great, ever since then my phone has been freezing, apps on the home screen have been lagging when swiping left and right on the home screen and i've had to restart my phone multiple times just because it wouldn't do the basics. I updated to ios 11.1 thinking it would fix the bugs, but they aren't going anywhere. is anyone else having these issues? imo ios 11 is garbage. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Oct 2017 07:39 PM PDT Has anyone else experienced when using "Hey Siri" that both your phone and watch go off? It use to be that they were smart enough to know which device I was talking to. But now they both answer and go off. 😫 Is this something I can fix? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Oct 2017 08:30 PM PDT I had a ton of photos on my phone. One minute I'm looking through them all, I close out for one second, come back and 300 photos are missing. They do not show up in the recently deleted, but they are definitely not on the phone. How can I get these back or at the least check if I have them on my cloud? I've been spending my on those 50 gigs, they better have been worth it. [link] [comments] |
Setting a hard data limit on iPhone 6 Posted: 02 Oct 2017 01:26 AM PDT So my partner and his 8 year old son share a data plan for their iphones. The boy keeps going over the data for the plan and costing us an absolute fortune in excess data fees. My Samsung has an option of turning off the mobile data for the phone once it reaches its cap but iPhones don't seem to have this function. Is there an app that would allow us to set a hard limit on the phone so once he reaches his limit that would be it for the month? I've been able to find a way to turn off the cell data through restrictions but I think he needs to be able to learn how to control his use rather than be blanket banned from mobile data. Installing Tinder made iOS11 poop the bed (iPhone SE) Posted: 01 Oct 2017 06:31 PM PDT Hey, just wanted to share a personal experience that may be of help to others. Installed iOS11 with the GM release, then 11.01, and had no significant issues on my SE other than SwiftKey occasionally hanging, until two days ago when I installed Tinder. And holy moly. Basically the entire iOS began to hang completely for up to two minutes every few minutes. Sometimes the screen would go black and show a spin wheel. This rendered the phone basically unusable. Didn't connect at first that it might be as a result of Tinder, so I was tearing out my hair, considering downgrading to 10. However, then I tried closing Tinder from the multi-tasking screen, and everything was working again as usual. TDLR: Tinder destroyed iOS11 on my SE. Closing it from the multi-tasking screen solved everything. If you're a user of Tinder and iOS11 and suffering, try what I did. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Oct 2017 05:37 PM PDT As the title says, I just got a watch and I'm seeing marks that almost form symmetrical corners on the screen. It doesn't feel like scratches or anything like that from what I can tell. I don't recall ever hitting my watch on anything and I don't feel anything on the screen that would indicate it's scratched. Is it just some kind of burn in? [link] [comments] |
MacOS High Sierra deleting files? Posted: 02 Oct 2017 12:46 AM PDT I've noticed a couple times now that when I drag and drop a file into a folder, it'll replace the first file in that folder. It thinks the file's still present as when I put the original file back in (files are backed up) it asks if I want to replace it. Do I just need to wait for an update or is there an easy fix somewhere? [link] [comments] |
What're you guys doing with your storage? Posted: 01 Oct 2017 08:59 PM PDT So with the iPad Pro having a 512gb variant and the iPhones now having 256gb variants, what are you guys deciding to do with the new found storage? I have downloaded a bunch of songs from Spotify, series on Netflix, have thousands of photos, and still managed to only fill a bit over 100gb. Is there anything you guys always make sure to have on your phone at all times? [link] [comments] |
[Question] MFI Certified - third party USB-C to Lightning cables ? Posted: 01 Oct 2017 01:00 PM PDT while the iPhone 8 has wireless charging, that's great for a charge at night and around the home. It's not so great for travel though. the iPhone 8 is capable of Fast Charge through a USB-C to Lightning cable with the 29W power adapter which although it's from Apple themselves, the cost is quite not what was expected. now Anker has this power adapter which looks to more reasonable but there doesn't seem to be any MFI certified USB-C to Lightning cables to take advantage of this, other than Apples own. As we get closer to the iPhone X launch, will we perhaps see more USB-C to Lightning cables from third parties that are MFI certified? the current USB-C Lightning cables on Amazon don't say they are MFI certified which is a no-no for me. edit: fixed links and cleanup [link] [comments] |
