    PSA: Redeem PS4 first, then PS5 Apple TV+ trials to stack them up

    For those that haven't redeemed, both offers expire on July 22, 2022. My current trial ended a bit ago and was going to get an additional 6 months of Apple TV+ through my PS5, but then I remembered that the PS4 has a three month offer. I read the terms and conditions for both and only the PS4's 3 month offer stipulates that you can't be in a trial at the time of redemption. However, the PS5 offer let's you stack the 6 months on top of whatever trial you have.

    In that case, optimal approach is to claim the free trial on the PS4 first to get the three months and then go on your PS5 to claim the six months. Total time will add up and now you will have 9 months!

    Successfully executed that today and have until March 6, 2023 now 😁

    I can't get past the screen requiring my ex husband's iCloud login to use my AppleTV anymore. Is there a way around this without factory resetting via plugging it in and loading the IPSW?

    Connect Google Movies to Apple TV library

    Basically as the title says, I am looking to connect my Google Movies to my Apple TV. I have a few digital codes that were redeemed through my Google Play account. I would love to have all of my digital library live inside my Apple TV.

    Is there any way to connect my Google Movies to show in my Apple TV library?

    ESPN App

    I was watching live College Baseball today and noticed for the first time that there is no way to pause, rewind or ff using the ESPN app on a live stream. Am I just missing something? I planned on this being my primary way of watching Football this fall. May have to rethink it if there is no way of at least pausing a game,

    does atv read and applies dialnorm?

    when u set the audio in best mode, to output multichannel (5.1for me) pcm, the atv is decoding the d+ . During this, the atv reads the dolby metadatad correctly? It adjust the volume using the dialnorm value?

    Proper Setup: Apple TV 4K + Samsung TV + Samsung Soundbar

    Looking for advice on the optimal way to connect an Apple TV 4K, Samsung UN50NU6900 TV, and Samsung HW-R450 sound-bar.

    Right now I have the Apple TV connected to the TV's HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) and the TV audio output connected to the sound-bar's optical input.

    -The TV only offers HDMI ARC, not eARC. -The sound bar does not have any HDMI inputs. Only inputs are an optical, "aux", and a usb.

    The TV turns on and turn off with the Apple TV remote, but it doesn't turn on or off the sound-bar, nor does it control the sound-bar volume.

    We have a very similar setup in another room in our house and with an Apple TV 4K, Samsung TV, and Samsung sound bar hooked up with HDMI for video and optical for audio but in that setup the Apple TV remote controls everything (power on/off and volume) without issue.

    Any suggestions?

    A tv show in my home library always pauses in fist 5 seconds. If I forward it plays fine. Only does it with all episodes in same series series.

    Best Non Smart TVs to use with an Apple TV?

    I'm looking for some recommendations for a non-smart TV. (if that's still a thing)

    I plan on using an Apple TV 4k on a new setup and don't see a reason to have a "double smart" tv. :P

    Removing 'Best of' within TV+

    I've just received my first Apple TV 4K box, super impressed.

    I've added and then removed the My5 TV app, but I'm still getting suggestions with TV+ under the Watch Now tab. Best of My5 suggestions keep appearing even though the app has been deleted.

    So once the app is deleted how do I stop the 'Best of My5' coming up?

    I never get the promoted tiles for upcoming apple events on my TV app, so when I watch an Apple event I need to go to the old 'Events' app, and then it kicks me back to the TV app to watch. Anyone else have this happen? (I am in Ireland)

    Why is apple tv on mac so badly designed ?

    The fact that there's no go to the next episode for example. Or the fact that the App doesnt save your language preferences from episodes to episodes...Am i missing somthing here ?

    Apple TV Remote

    So I've recently found an Apple TV which I will want to use. However I cannot find the remote, so I searched on the internet and I've tried to use my phone as the remote but when I try connecting, it says I need to enter a passcode on the Apple TV which I cannot do as I do not have any way of controlling it in the first place

    Cant find Dune on my LG smart TV

    Hey guys,

    I want to buy the movie Dune on Apple TV since thats the only platform where i can get it in 4k. I can find and buy the movie on my iPhone and Macbook, but if I look up the movie on the Apple TV app on my LG smart TV I cant find it.

    Do I have to buy the movie first so that it shows up? I dont want to spend 15$ without being able to watch the movie on my TV.

    Daily my AppleTV asks me to configure Volume controls. They’ve been working fine for years.

    I have an AppleTV running through a Yamaha head unit (RX-A1030). Almost daily now it says I need to configure the volume controls, they've been setup and working fine since I programmed it the first day, so we tell it no, then it works as it always has. Then a day or two later, adjust volume, the same scenario again.

    Apple TV 4K no HDR for TCL Series 5

    I looked before posting and did not see anything for the Series 5 TCL ROKU TV. Recently bought a Apple TV 4K after being told it has the best upscaling and to my surprise it cannot register 4K HDR. I have about 3 General Electric HDMI Cables certified for 4K UHD. When I go to settings on my Apple TV it tells me resolution is only 1080p, HDMI Output is YCbCR, Match Content - ON (no other options to choose once I turn it on). I hav watched YouTube all day and it appears if it does not detect 4K HDR there is really nothing I can do to troubleshoot to help it find it.

    really not understanding my set-up: tv, homepod (mini), “new” tv, and earc?

    so, i specifically picked out the tv (samsung u700 series, i think?) i just got because it has both earc and cec (full disclosure, i don't fully understand the full capabilities of both of those).

    i'm also pretty sure i have the apple tv plugged into the earc port on the tv (i only have two hdmi's, and only one is arc).

    anyway, while i do want the device to send audio through the tv and back to the homepod (mini)(skeptical of how well it will work) right now, when i try to alter the volume while watching something on the apple tv (6th gen), it only adjusts volume on the tv. even holding the tv button and selecting the speaker manually from control center doesn't affect the audio. the only way i am able to adjust audio on the homepod is via the touch control on top (which is very problematic, due to positioning and the fact they're black on black).

    can anyone sort me out? (thank you.)
