Apple has to switch to USB-C for all iPhones by 2024? Posted: 08 Jun 2022 04:17 AM PDT
Posted: 08 Jun 2022 11:06 AM PDT A recent FBI document revealed that iMessage is one of the least secure services considering the amount of information that the FBI can access. It can see limited message content, basic user information, contacts, date and time info, encryption keys, sender and receiver information, and even your iCloud backups. Since iCloud stores non-encrypted message backups by default, that gives the FBI access to a lot of content. In fact, even WhatsApp, WeChat, and Viber are ahead when it comes to the amount of user information that can be accessed by the FBI through these applications. Now although, seeing popular applications on this list might make data security a big concern, there are apps like Telegram, TokLok & Signal that are offering tighter encryption, thus giving more security to their users. TokLok even claims to delete all message details after it has been read by the recipient, thus deleting all user data from its system. [link] [comments]
Every morning my iphone says it restarted Posted: 08 Jun 2022 07:43 AM PDT I have an 11 pro running 15.5 I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that every morning when I wake up my phone is in a state as if springboard has crashed or the phone rebooted. The phone is not jailbroken. It appears to happen every night just after midnight, you can see how in the battery section it's off during those times too. I looked through the analytics data and I dont see any kernel panic ones in there. Any thoughts/suggestions? [link] [comments]
Dark Sky iOS app to shut down December 31st, 2022 Posted: 08 Jun 2022 09:26 AM PDT By Adam Grossman on June 6, 2022. Update: As previously announced, the Dark Sky iOS app will no longer be available beginning on December 31st, 2022 and, as of this date, already purchased versions of the app will no longer provide weather data. The Dark Sky API and website will continue to function until March 31st, 2023. Dark Sky's forecast technology is now enhanced and integrated into the all-new Apple Weather forecast, powering Apple's updated Weather app. Click here to learn more. Developers, Apple's new WeatherKit API lets you incorporate Apple Weather forecast data into your app and is available for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and web. Learn more here. Sounds like the app will give way to the 'standard' iOS 'weather' app.. not sure what will happen to the website, I assume that goes away too. pity [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jun 2022 07:21 AM PDT I tried unmuting the phone but I don't recognise the sound effect of the alert so it must be app specific. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Jun 2022 09:48 AM PDT 3 Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/LYhZlgX Unfortunately, the Help Center Link (from the "Learn More" Text Buttons) leads to a 404-type page on the Apple website, so I submitted a ticket for that to be fixed. [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jun 2022 10:34 AM PDT My iCloud storage ran out of space due to messages taking up about 40GB. I realized I had a convo where I had sent some multiple long videos to people and that was taking up about 20gb. I deleted all those messages about 3 weeks ago but it still says I have 40GB in iCloud.
Anyone run into anything like this? I'm currently paying to increase my iCloud storage and i'd really prefer not to. [link] [comments]

What’s the worst thing that could happen if you install the iOS 16 beta on your iPhone Posted: 08 Jun 2022 02:34 AM PDT I have been curious about installing iOS 16 on my main iPhone but Im unaware of what the side affects are. Does anyone know what could happen if you install a developer beta profile. [link] [comments]
Question I can’t find on google about do not disturb Posted: 08 Jun 2022 08:37 AM PDT If someone (person A) has their phone set to do not disturb, when you text them you get the little note on the bottom saying "heyo person A has their stuff on silent." If person A kept their phone in silent mode, but started allowing notifications from person B, does person B still see that "silent mode message" at the bottom when texting person A? The font got too big. Can’t reduce it Posted: 08 Jun 2022 08:25 AM PDT Hello everyone. The font of sharing got too big as you see: I tried to increase the font size only for Reddit, but now I can't find the font size of Reddit anymore: Does anyone know how to reduce the size? [link] [comments]
Third Party iOS 16 Lockscreen Widgets Posted: 08 Jun 2022 08:15 AM PDT I was wondering if anyone that has the iOS 16 Developer Beta installed has seen any third party widgets for the lock screen released yet. I'm not entirely sure if Apple has opened up the API yet to third party lock screen widgets, but if anyone that has iOS 16 has seen some Third-party lock screen widgets, I would like to know. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what developers can come up with to customize the lock screen. I'm already liking what I'm seeing from Apple, and it's going to get better over time! If anyone finds apps that were updated or in Test flight mode that have lock screen widgets we can test out, feel free to list them here. [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jun 2022 11:38 AM PDT Is anyone else having issues with the camera in the developer beta? It's just a black screen, no matter what camera and apps I try. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jun 2022 11:17 AM PDT Does this seem normal? I didn't really use my phone much yesterday. I got up at 10:30 am - it was at 80%. I used the Bell Vibe app for like 1 hr 15 mins, played Mario Kart for 20 mins, and then the rest of the screen time was minimal on emails or safari. Had the phone down for the remainder of the time. And then by 9:30 pm it was down to 54%. I can't really see where from 10:30 am to 9:30 pm, using it for only 2 hours within that time, would reasonably bring it down 26%. I don't have Lock Screen notifications that would wake the phone constantly; I use low power mode so there's no background app refresh. Thoughts? One thing that sticks out is Find My App. I don't know wth it was doing taking up 11% of the battery with background activity indicated. So maybe it has something to do with that? But I'm not sure what to do if that's the culprit. Note: Apologies if this belongs on the r/iphonehelp for hardware support. Just not really too sure where this belongs since there might be different factors at play. [link] [comments]
Is it possible to have calls come in from 1 person only through 1 app when in focus mode? Posted: 08 Jun 2022 11:13 AM PDT I have a focus mode for work where only my wife can get through to me, but we send each other messages throughout the day in WhatsApp, etc. that aren't urgent. I want to restrict it to only phone calls from her in case of something urgent, but even when in work focus mode with WhatsApp not added as an app with "Allowed notifications" my watch notifies me every time she messages me. My phone does not. My watch shows it is in focus mode too, so I don't understand why it's doing that. I'm not sure if it's because she is listed under "Allowed People in iOS" or if there is no way to silence WhatsApp notification on my Apple Watch when in work focus mode. There is no WatchOS WhatsApp app, so maybe it has something to do with that? Help? [link] [comments]
Not getting connected to WiFi properly. Posted: 08 Jun 2022 11:12 AM PDT Started today this behaviour, didn't updated today, it gets connected to WiFi then, automatically gets disconnected, and then connects again for 1 min, i am using iPad Pro 2020, current iOS version is 15.5, reset network settings also. How to solve this? [link] [comments]
Is there any way for the ‘Unread’ folder in Mail to show all unread mail from your various folders? Posted: 08 Jun 2022 07:13 AM PDT I want to use the 'Unread' folder in mail to show all the unread mail across subfolders, but it only shows the unread in my main inbox. This seems kinda pointless because I could just tap the little filter button if I wanted to only view unread in the inbox - is there anyway for this to be a universal 'unread' folder? Obsessed with having minimal apps! Posted: 08 Jun 2022 03:27 AM PDT Hi everyone, I have 13 Pro.. before him i had 8 and then 12 Mini. I am obsessed with having minimal apps on my phone. Is anyone like me? It probably has roots from my android era. I had usually lower-end devices and whenever i had "too many" apps, phone got sluggish and I usually deleted whole bunch of apps. Now it's mine uncommon practice to have least amount of apps installed on device. Currently i have:
And i daily tend to go to AppStore and look for apps and games to download. Usually i download Feedly, UFC, Twitter, Buzzfeed and some other. And i always delete them. How to stop this behavior of mine & am I the only one constantly doing this. I always like to watch how youtubers slide through multiple app pages. But I just can't be still with apps and keep them. Same as widgets. [link] [comments]
