    Enabling notification support for Reminders on iOS 15 is stupid

    Hello,

    I just spend half my day resetting my phone 4 times trying to figure out why reminders would come through on my Mac but not my iPhone... I couldn't find notification settings for reminders in settings, and it was doing my head in...

    The secret to enabling them, is to create a new reminder, and give it a time. ONLY THEN will Reminders prompt you to enable notifications inside of iOS.

    Sounds reasonable, right? If it's your first time using Reminders then who cares? Well for me, I'd just reset my phone, and was creating scheduled reminders using Siri, without once opening the Reminders app (cause I'd already set them up before I reset my phone). Also, there's no tips online on enabling Reminder notifications like this, before you create a reminder with a schedule, there is nothing for the Reminders app in Notification Settings.

    I hope a more intuitive way to enable reminder notifications comes in a future version of iOS (especially considering MacOS did NOT have the same issue as I just setup my Mac a few days ago and did not once create an event on that).

    I have a question about the column at the top. Sometimes it becomes translucent (blur) sometimes it becomes solid color(white or black). I have no ideas what triggers it but I’d like it to be translucent. How can i do it?

    Photo recovery

    I recently lost over 200 photos and videos from my iphone, my friend deleted them as a joke but i have beloved pics of my deceased dog and special memories. They were also deleted from the recently deleted folder. I need a software to use to recover them, But every one ive found you have to pay for. Is there any free ones that work just as well?

    How do android users send videos over MMS? I can’t live without iMessage lol

    So iMessage for me is still the "killer" app since both iOS and Android pretty much have the same apps to access for the most part

    When I try to text my android friends and try to send videos over MMS, they can never see it because of compression etc or it just doesn't even go through

    That's why I love iMessage - not to mention airdrop

    So how do android users send videos to each other ? I'm assuming they must have to use WhatsApp or another messaging platform ?

    Sending via MMS is basically impossible or a waste of time right ? I wonder what the file limit is for that

    Music sync issue

    I have a new iPhone and I use Apple Music. Apparently all my old downloaded music on my MacBook Pro is syncing with my phone. I don't want the music on my laptop on my phone. I just want to use Apple Music on my phone and independently add music on my phone with its on playlists. I thought I had this solved when I turned off syncing, but with sync off I couldn't add any playlists and it kept promoting me to turn sync on. My old phone worked fine like I wanted it to… Any advice?

    Using iCloud Photos as Backup Or..?

    my Iphone storage is full and I'm thinking about moving the photos/videos to icloud photos but I have some questions.

    From what a i understand, icloud photos automatically syncs photos when they are taken to the cloud. Is there any way to turn this off? Can I be selective with what uploads to the servers?

    My other question is, is there a way to know which photos/videos were marked with the heart (favorite) in icloud photos?

    Still don't know if I trust uploading to the servers yet, so does anyone have any other solutions that are worth considering?

    How to convert videos/Gifs into Live Photos without severe quality drop?

    I've tried numerous varying apps to convert gifs and videos into a Live Photo however each one of these significantly drops the quality as a result, is there any way around this or another app?

    Drew an impostor on my background to make it look like the lock, but the wallpaper gets darker even though Dark Appearance is off in settings. Anyone got any tips on how to fix this?

    Safari doesn’t auto fill email

    Why doesn't safari automatically fill or suggest my email when filling out forms? It is also unreliable for other information as well, other than my name, esp payment info.

    Chrome fills everything flawlessly but I'd rather use safari (stock app and full length screenshots). Is there something I'm missing or does safari just not do this as well as chrome?

    Edit: in the suggestion bar it says "hide my email"

    How do I get iOS to use the Paypal App and not the Paypal WebUI for payments?

    I noticed that whenever I choose Paypal as payment option in some online purchase (for example a Dominos order with their app) I get forwarded to the Paypal web interface which can't seem to remember my credentials. Why doesn't iOS open my installed Paypal app, auth me with FaceID there, and let me pay with the app?

    Is there a setting for this? Is it a security thing? What am I missing?

    Is there a way to backup just an app to a computer and put it on another iPhone

    Why is there Auto Lock but no Auto Dim-Only?

    I'm new to iPhone, feels like this option should exist but can't find it...

    If I'm home alone, for example, I don't want the phone to keep locking, it's a hassle. But the power-saving feature of turning off the display after a short time of non-use does make sense.

    So how do I set it to auto-turn off the display, but not lock?
