- Hello guys. Got my first iPhone a few days back. First two days working great and I installed a tempered glass to protect the screen. Since then I am noticing a noticeable lag, having to press keys very forcefully. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this? It's an iPhone 12.

A few days after setting it up as a new phone, I travelled to Europe from North America and one thing that I noticed is that the battery draines crazy fast… By fast, I mean the battery is down from 100% to 60% after one hour of using Safari. Is it possible that this battery drain is due to the fact that I'm far away from my home network? I have the newest software, I haven't downloaded any apps yet. Battery health shows 100%. Posted: 17 Feb 2022 03:30 AM PST So tonight I had a large photoshoot of a thunderstorm that rolled through my part of the world. Using burst mode to take shots of lighting, I quickly accumulated shots. When I started sorting through the bursts and sifting out the good shots, I realized a massive chunk of photos are showing up as blank grey images, with 2400 "Unable to Upload". I have bursts from the beginning of the storm and the end of the storm, but there's a huge amount of bursts in the middle that are nowhere to be seen, and there's thousands of these blank grey squares in my Camera/Photos feed which I assume are all the individual photos. Checked iCloud, did a hard reset, a restart, fiddled with iCloud settings, nothing has worked. I went through the DCIM folder on my PC and there's 2400 folders, all named 202202_a, all containing one JPEG file that's 0 bytes. I'm stumped. This has never happened before, and I have shot thunderstorms in this way previously without a hitch. I thought it might have been due to a lack of space, but I have 16GB free. iCloud is also not near maxing out. Is it just a matter of it being a large amount of photos and they need to load, or have these photos just been lost completely? [link] [comments] | ||

Now, whenever I want to shorten a video after filming whatever (because I don't want a long video taking up spaces on my phone), the quality goes downward. It's still being played in 60FPS, but the quality itself looks like it's lower than 720P. Does anyone know how to fix this? | Posted: 17 Feb 2022 12:18 AM PST Hello, I had preordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max at launch to replace my 11 Pro Max. I am a Mint mobile customer and I usually work from home, so I didn't mind a prepaid network with prioritization. With that being said, I've had issues with my cellular connection dropping since day 1. I had no issues with the previous iPhone... full bars in my area and pretty decent performance while traveling. I took the SIM card from my 11 and stuck it in the 13. The connection constantly drops to no bars and I miss calls, voicemails, and SMS texts until I toggle airplane mode on and then off again. This happens everywhere... when I'm out and about and at home. I've had half a dozen calls with Apple support and 2 days ago took it to an Apple store. They couldn't find any issue with their diagnostics. I contacted Mint and they told me to shut the device down for 3 or 4 minutes while they make a "change" to my account. I powered the device on... I had signal for a little while, then it dropped again. I have a replacement phone on it's way, but I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience with their phone. [link] [comments] | ||

When I click on their name my message app just crashes. I'm able to text everybody else fine. Not sure if it helps but it happened right after I liked a message she sent. | Microsoft teams not installing on my iPhone 7 Posted: 16 Feb 2022 08:44 PM PST Hi, I have a very weird problem with my iPhone 7 running iOS 15. As the backstory, I have offloaded the already installed and working Microsoft teams app from my device to open up some space in the device (having a 32 geb iPhone in 2022 is difficult). After my job was done, I clicked the app icon on the Home Screen to install the app back, but then (after 30 seconds or so) I realized I might need the space for a different thing, so I long pressed (3d touched) on it and clicked on cancel download. The app icon disappeared from the Home Screen, whereas it should have just stayed with the little cloud next to the name. Now, when I try to install it back, the download icon (cloud with arrow) flashes briefly, but then it goes back to normal, and nothing happens. I don't know how to install the app now, and I need it for my college, so it's kind of important (if i cannot figure this out in a couple of days, I may have to just reset the phone) The things I have tried to do so far are: -try it on bought cellular and wifi -try a different Apple ID, including one where the app was never bought (same result with the get button) -reset the phone a couple of times -look through my storage settings to see if teams exist somehow (it doesn't). I have a oem back housing that I'm going to replace it with but there are a few things on Apple's end that i need to know first. I'm going to be taking my phone into an apple store in about a month to get AppleCare put on it. It's after the time frame, but if they inspect the device and find no problems, they will grant you to purchase applecare. I have previously done the same repair on my iPhone 12 Pro, but when I took it into apple to get it replaced for a display uniformity issue I was having with the OLED panel, their system found some issues when running diagnostics. The phone was off the entire time that I was performing the replacement, and I only had replaced the physical back housing, all serialized parts were kept with the phone. I also happen to work at a repair shop. When this phone came out, if the FaceID cable was unplugged from the board, the phone would disable it forever. This was 'fixed' with an update. I know that iPhones keep a little bit of battery, even if the phone 'dies' because it is legally required to know where it is at all times due to the UWB chip not being allowed in some regions like Australia. Also, they have the new feature where iPhone is still findable after power off, likely using a little bit of this store of battery to let other devices know of its existence. My question is this, what do I need to do so that the phone doesn't pop up with any flags when diagnostics are run? My current strategy is to try my best to deplete the battery COMPLETELY, by making it run the 'charging needed' graphic and whatnot, but is there anything else I should do or be aware of? | Posted: 16 Feb 2022 10:56 AM PST I've been battling the random 80Gb of "Other Storage" and my iphone XR's refusal to back itself up anywhere be it icloud or onto my computer for the past month. I'd hope to seeing as though at launch with upgraded storage this was a $1000 dollar phone... Today, I lost, when trying to update via itunes on Windows 11, my phone entered one of many restart loops and even though both the phone and itunes on my computer confirmed that I had 16 gigs available, I got the message stating i needed 960mb of storage space to update. I then attempt to back my phone up to my Hard drive, then my SSD, then Icloud. After that ordeal finished, my phone is now in recovery mode and I cannot setup a call or chat with Apple because they send the code to my phone number that I literally cannot access because the phone itself seems to be the problem! Is there anyone in the sub that can shed any light on this before i reset my phone and loose my contacts, audio files, and pictures? [link] [comments] | ||

| Photos take a long time to send via text message Posted: 16 Feb 2022 07:20 AM PST I have a few people I text with who are not in the IOS ecosystem. If any of my contacts are on IOS I have no problem sending images. However if the group text has one or more non-IOS users or I'm sending directly to a non-IOS user my phone sometimes refuses to send the image. When it does happen, you can see a green bar progressing across the top of the image/text and then it stops and eventually gives me a red exclamation point. But it doesn't always happen this way, it seems quite random. My cell phone connection is OK, usually 2 bars or more LTE, my WIFI is super quick almost all the time. Sometimes the image goes no problem at all, other times I have to send and resend multiple times. My carrier settings are up to date, I've tried switching off the phone, signing in and out of iMessage or toggling some of the messages settings like MMS messaging, Group Messaging and Send As SMS. So is this a carrier issue or something I have yet to check in settings? [link] [comments] |
