Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:27 PM PST iPhone 11 iOS 15.3.1 purchased in GA, US Does anyone else's phone act like a desktop? For example 1) the App Store tells me I can't download certain apps because "it is not supported with the MAC OS version I am running.." 2) my contactless payment such as Walmart pay doesn't go through & triggers a security alert because I guess because it wonders why a desktop is at the gas pump. 3) my router lists my phone as one device and other times (at the same time) it shows a Mac Desktop with no info for what it's running/ company that made it/ etc. This is getting annoying.. beyond actually.. I've contacted Apple and they said it's probably my iCloud relay. Also when I try and turn VPN on it won't let me. It just immediately turns back off. Idk what's going on [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2022 11:43 PM PST I'll do my best to make the following make sense. Husband & I just switched carriers a week ago, both kept our old numbers. He switched from android to an iPhone 11, I stuck with android. Here's where it gets funky. Both phones activated & transfered all of our files and info over perfectly except for one thing. We can send & receive calls from each other just fine. His texts send thru to my new phone just fine. But when I text him he does not receive it on the new iPhone. My messages are received on his old, deactivated android phone. He receives sms messages from every other android user, mine is literally the only one he's not getting. SMS/MMS are both turned on & my contact is not blocked. Wireless carrier says it's an Apple problem, Apple says it's a carrier problem or we can pay $50 for them to "look further". We paid $500 for a phone I can't even text to & they want me to pay more just to LOOK at it. Advice? [link] [comments]

Connected Iphone13Pro via USB slows down Windows PC internet Posted: 21 Feb 2022 05:16 PM PST I connect my phone to my PC about once a week and this week suddenly I noticed my internet was awful. It sometimes happens so I didn't think twice about it but this morning I noticed the same thing after connecting my phone. So I tried on my Laptop and the same thing happen so I'm certain now: connecting my Iphone via USB grinds my internet to a halt. Both PCs use Windows 10. See below the speednet tests when the only change is connecting my phone. https://imgur.com/JCa5fGE https://imgur.com/wiXLdQk Any ideas how to fix this? I imagine the Iphone is messing with the internet connections - maybe I'm accessing the internet through my phone? A hotspot is still faster though... any ideas how to fix this? Thanks all [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2022 09:18 AM PST *editing for clarity* What advice do you have for parents that have Androids and need to monitor their kids' iPhones? Not willing to argue whether they need it or not, nor if we should be "all up in our kids' business." Looking for advice from parents who have used parent Androids with child iPhones and can advise on what works/doesn't work for them. Some things we are potentially concerned with are: location, screen time, app permissions. These are our kids' 1st phones. They are primarily for communicating with us when they are away from home. It is also so we/they can feel a little safer when they are walking to friends' houses or going to the park. Kids aren't of driving age, so that isn't a concern right now. We got iPhones for them because it will make it easier for them to Facetime Grandmas & some close friends. Parents may make the switch at a later date but for now, use Samsung. Wondering about- purchasing an app like Bark/life360, using Google Family link, ability to manage with adult apple ID, any experience with it in general. Main concern is content/app control or monitoring. [link] [comments]

Repost: RANT: iphone won't send texts to android. Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:28 PM PST This is a repost. I originally posted on r/iphone thread. it was removed with this notice: "Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/iphone. "I am SOOOO tired of this! It is such a hassle to not be able to depend on my phone. Half of the time texts go out fine and half of the time they just don't. I've called apple a couple of times and they blame cell provider. What good is wifi assist if it's not assisting. I've gone down the list of troubleshoot items from apples website and that never seems to help. After a while it just randomly works again with no action on my part. Does anybody else share my frustration?" Is this a more appropriate thread to post in? And, to clarify my issue; I could be in a text exchange, at home, and without making any changes on my part my messages will no longer send to Andriod and then, after a while it will work. It's just frustrating. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Feb 2022 10:36 AM PST Hello, about a year ago I got the IPhone 11. My other iPhone was an X and now I am going to sell it, but need to get some info and other things that didn't transfer to new phone for unknown reason. My pass words on every phone have 100% been the same thing for as long as I can remember. I turned phone on and it's saying my password is wrong. Any way to bypass or something so I don't lose that data? [link] [comments]
iPhone shuts down at 28% battery Posted: 21 Feb 2022 06:24 AM PST Hey guys, hope you all are doing well. My iPhone XS is acting up, particularly in the battery. The battery has been recently replaced, however, it starts to lag really bad and shuts down at exactly 28%. The only way to turn it back on is to charge the phone. When the phone turns on, it shows a relatively low battery percentage (usually around 11-12%) and gets back to around 28% REALLY quick. Is this a battery calibration issue? If so, are there any solution to this particular issue? I 100% appreciate the help. iPhone XS 64 GB iOS 15.3.1 [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2022 08:51 AM PST Is an iPhone 6s going to be significantly slower as a hotspot than an iPhone 11? I am trying to get an extra phone for a trip and get a sim card in that phone to hotspot and was wondering if I got an old phone how bad that would effect performance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2022 08:16 AM PST I have an iPhone 12 mini. Is their a good quality, MagSafe wallet and grip that doesn't have to be taken off to charge on a mag charger? I know I WILL lose my wallet if I have to take it off every time. [link] [comments]

How can I get a virgin app download. How scrub all traces ? Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:19 AM PST Hi I'm having problems with my Uber driver app. Best I can see with android phones the solution is to delete the cache and history from the app and then uninstall and reinstall. However I cannot find anything to boldly close to doing that on an iPhone. I uninstalled reinstalled booted updated the phone updated the app I disabled off-loading feature in settings for the App Store, deleted the app from iCloud, disabled back up for the app,m. No matter what I do, The app Store shows a cloud there as though the app with downloaded before, indicated that there's a trace on my phone. I want that gone. Any options? EDIT. OK…so App Store isn't necessarily a clue that there's a trace or cache So I'll toss out the issue. Uber support states device issue. Apparently I'm the only one in the world with the issue. I'm getting a runtime error and I'm not able to sign offline. Starts with a ride request Pop onscreen - no matter how I react a runtime error pops up. - then it waits for a new ride - it'll be there forever I think. - Try to sign off, error again unable to sign off. No matter what I do, that entire sequence is repeated when I open the app and here's the wierd part….That very same ride request is what pops up as soon as I open the app again Bars in mind, I've uninstalled, rebooted phone, updated the phone, etc. easily 4 times while trying other moves like Remove from back up, I cloud, etc. Meanwhile my Android can open Uber just fine. Only it won't let me sign online because I'm already signed on another devise. [link] [comments]
Can't delete folders from iPhone DCIM on laptop Posted: 21 Feb 2022 02:56 AM PST I am trying to free up space on my phone by moving photo folders to an external drive. The folders have copied over successfully but it then won't let me delete them from my iphone and keeps showing an error message '...could not be deleted. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected' but neither of those things have happened as the phone is still connected and I can still access photos? Does anyone know how I can resolve this? It's letting me delete the photos from inside each folder but not the folders themselves. [link] [comments]
