Posted: 06 Feb 2022 08:50 AM PST I have been an iPhone fanboy since the 4S. I have never rocked cases, the phones are just way to pretty and comfortable in hand. Because of this I've always been super good about dropping them. I only broke one screen, on my 6S shortly after release. Now I have the 12 Pro Max and I drop it all the time. It slips out of my pockets sitting down, sometimes I'll lose it in the blankets and accidentally fling it upon recovery. I drop it on a weekly basis from 5'-6' onto hard flooring and never have much of an issue. Glass is always fine and the edges barely receive any damage. Thank you, Apple, for making a phone tough enough to put up with me lol. [link] [comments] |
Photos in Gallery gone after update Posted: 06 Feb 2022 10:34 AM PST Hi, I just update my iPhone 13 Pro to iOS 15.3 and today I noticed many of my photos are gone. I had a folder with over 400 pictures of my family and there are only 13 left in this folder. The Gallery app tells me for other folder that there are pictures inside (it shows the number) but when I click on the folder it's just empty. When I go to settings it says I have a total of 274 photos on the phone but before it had to be multiple thousands. I checked iCloud and thought that they were maybe uploaded but they are not there. I never changed any settings, yet today they just disappeared. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Question about speakers/cleaning them Posted: 06 Feb 2022 02:51 AM PST Hoping this hasn't been asked before. I have an iPhone 12. About a year old. Recently it's been super quiet when playing music and I understand it's because the speakers are dirty? How can I resolve this? [link] [comments] |
Transfer music from old phone? Posted: 06 Feb 2022 10:42 AM PST Need help. A friend has an old iphone 3gs with music on it. Is there a way to transfer his music to Mac or windows for free? I found lots of paid apps. However i think it is a bit expensive to pay 30 euro for a one time transfer of 700 songs. Also checked iTunes. Not possible to copy from phone to iTunes. anyone using an iphone x/ xs/ xs max got any screen burn in? Posted: 06 Feb 2022 11:27 AM PST im looking to buy a second hand one and im curious to see if anyone has any problems with it [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2022 04:44 AM PST I'd happily change it for a 13 Mini, but that thing is expensive! I got 12 PM (a year ago) because of the new features and most importantly battery life. But I grew to hate the phone. Extremely big and heavy, being in bed with the phone gives me nightmares. I was thinking of waiting to get the 14 Mini then found out Apple won't make more Mini iPhones… Great. [link] [comments] |
how good are the mini iphones for gaming Posted: 06 Feb 2022 12:34 PM PST hey guys!, I used to have an iphone 12 but it got stolen a month ago. I was so sad because it was my first iphone, and being a college student with a part time job was a lot of work to buy one. Now I'm thinking of buying one of the mini models since they are cheaper, but I don't know how good they are for gaming and multimedia in general. Any suggstions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2022 12:29 PM PST Yeah I tried to clean my iPhone 7 with soap lol. I'm kinda dumb for trying to do that... Anyways the home button doesn't click and touch ID doesn't work. I can sort of hear something when I apply pressure to the home button and the phone is on... It appears that it is clicking or something and some liquid is in the way. Anyways is this something I can just wait out or am I stuck with the on screen home button? [link] [comments] |
Most people probably don't need to upgrade phones. Posted: 06 Feb 2022 12:18 PM PST These phones are super expensive, they are wants, not needs. Most people buying the latest iPhones are only using them for social media, youtube, WhatsApp, occasional games, and most mobile games suck and only want your money, except for the Apple Arcade. They certainly don't require super-powerful phones either. It's a cool factor, we all want the shiniest and newest toy because it makes us feel good and better about ourselves, who doesn't want the latest TV technology, latest gaming console, and a very powerful computer, or the nicest car you could buy. These are not needs. If you already have an iPhone 11, XR, or even an iPhone 7 or 8. Do you really NEED to upgrade? What is your current phone not doing that the newest phone could do and change your life? You buy a new phone and it becomes old by the next year, then you get into this upgrading cycle trying to keep up with people who have money to feel cool about yourself. Phones are supercomputers, they are not meant to be replaced every 2 years or even once a year. Computers are supposed to last 5 to 10 years easily. That's how they get you, by making you feel inadequate about yourself and possessions. They alienate android users by showing their bubble as green and having iPhone owners discriminate against them. Apple was caught slowing down phones, so they would force people to buy new ones. You're the only one losing in this scenario and Apple keeps getting richer and richer. Phones were devices to call people and talk with one another, now they are computers that people use to distance themselves from others and bury their heads in them to avoid human interaction and uncomfortable situations. It's pretty pathetic. How is it possible that a phone costs $1000-1200 these days? That's absurd. These phones are made for rich people who can pay them as if you were buying a Nokia, not for you the average joe. Buying these phones every year or every 2 years is a good way to stay broke for life. The difference with laptops or computers is that you can't carry them with you as easily, thus is not a status symbol that you can brag and pump your chest to as much, which is why people don't upgrade computers, even Apple computers anywhere as often as phones. Similarly, buying an expensive luxury car or a nice house is super expensive and out of reach for many people, therefore, is much easier to buy an expensive phone if you want to feel cool about yourself. The smartphone is a small device, that you can carry every day, you can show it off without much effort, is the perfect status symbol for the ego-seeking humanoid. Huge corporations have studied this behavior and they profit from all of this by releasing phones every year, slowing them down, purposely making them, so they don't last longer than a few years, purposely locking batteries so you can't replace them, purposefully locking ram, so you can't upgrade anything, increasing prices, cause they know people will continue to get them. Technology is nice and all, but that is not the main reason people get these phones, is an ego thing, a cool factor aspect. [link] [comments] |
Is wireless charging slower or faster than USB-C cable/adapter? Posted: 06 Feb 2022 12:10 PM PST Hey new to this subreddit. I already have a USB-C cable/adapter for my room but was considering getting one for my office as well. I do want a wireless charging pad for convenience but can't find a straight answer online comparing it to USB-C cable/adapter. Could you guys tell me which one is faster? I already know the USB-C is like 2.5/3 times faster than the previous cable but didn't know what the wireless charging pad was built off of. [link] [comments] |

iPhone SE 2020 battery goes from 42% to 10% Posted: 06 Feb 2022 11:05 AM PST From the past couple of weeks I have been noticing that my iPhone shuts down whenever the battery goes below 42% - 40%. I will not turn on unless I connect the charger. After it boots up, the remaining battery is just 10%. I am on iOS 15.2.1. Can anyone help me understand what's happening? [link] [comments] |
