| Apples response to Dolby Vision flickering Posted: 10 Feb 2022 08:26 AM PST I have posted on her before about flickering during dark scenes with the first ten Apple TV 4K. I am not alone with this issue and others have posted about it before. There are a lot of "fixes" and such for this issue, but nothing actually works. Apple as admitted this is a software issue on the first gen Apple TV 4K and has been fixed on the 2nd version of the Apple TV 4K, yet they have said nothing if they will try and fix it in an update. I personally own 2 apples TVs amounting to over 500$ spent and both have this issue the last year for me. I called apple today and talked to a very nice person, unfortunately the answer apple gave me was essentially "Go buy the new Apple TV" So if anyone comes to this subreddit looking for fixes, I hope they see this so they can know to not waste their time asking apple about it. They also told me I could go and have a technician look at it and try to fix it for 225.69$ CAD. Which oddly enough is almost the same price to buy the 2nd gen 4k tv. Very frustrated with Apples handling of this issue as its been going on for over a year for a certain portion of Apple TV owners. [link] [comments] | ||

| Ideas to show off iTunes movie library Posted: 10 Feb 2022 05:51 AM PST I've accumulated 250 digital movies through Apple. I own no physical media. I love the films in my library, and just looking through the cover art makes me happy. Has anyone come up with a clever way to 'display' or 'review' their library regularly? The best I've come up with is a Letterboxd list. There I can at least sort, filter, and browse my library how I'd like, rather than the alphabetical dump the TV app sticks you with.. | Subtitles keep turning back on for Hulu (and only Hulu) Posted: 09 Feb 2022 10:04 PM PST For some reason, every time I play a show - only on Hulu - on one specific Apple TV 4K, the subtitles are on. I turn them off every time, but when the next show or episode comes on, the subtitles come right back. Even when playing a series and I let it auto play through multiple episodes, the subtitles come back when the next show starts. In the Apple TV settings / video & audio / subtitle language it's set to "None." Subtitles don't show up unwanted in any other app. Has anyone seen this / solved this? [link] [comments] | ||
| Searching movies doesn’t show movies available on Netflix, etc. Posted: 10 Feb 2022 02:55 AM PST I thought when you search for movies on Apple TV that it should bring up movies or even television shows on other apps that you are subscribed to. But it doesn't seem to do that. I subscribe to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus and HBO Max. I was looking for a movie and did the search on Apple TV. It showed the movie was available to purchase or rent on one app. I decided to just go on Netflix and sure enough the movie was available without any cost. [link] [comments] | ||
| Why is my Apple TV being glitchy with my AirPods? Posted: 09 Feb 2022 10:54 PM PST It's a regular Apple TV we've had for a couple years and I've had my AirPods for the same amount of time. They work fine on my iPhone and MacBook but for some reason, with the TV, especially on Netflix, they have started in the past few weeks getting extremely glitchy to the point where I can't hear my show. Up until now, I have had no issues & love the service. However, today as I've gone to watch something on my Apple TV itself, I've been prompted to "Get Apple TV+". When I click on this though, it tells me I have an existing subscription, but still doesn't let me in to watch anything. Does anyone know what the cause of this may be? | Problem connecting to personal hotspot Posted: 09 Feb 2022 08:35 PM PST Hey there. I have an Apple TV that runs of a personal hotspot from an XS Max. Back when I had a 6s Plus, (years ago), it would automatically connect to the personal hotspot. It hasn't worked that way for years, though. Any suggestions? Apple TV has been reset multiple times.
