Every time I think about it I both cringe and laugh at such a stupid thing to do, all because I was walking whilst paying great attention to my cell. Apps struggled to load, switching was a chore and simple tasks such as typing or engaging spotlight from the Home Screen had severe lag of 10s+. In the hours I've had it, 15.3 appears to relieve me of these issues, so I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I was becoming convinced my X was on its last legs. | Still confused about syncing music to iPhone after all these years Posted: 27 Jan 2022 10:10 AM PST I've been using an iPhone since 2009 and still to this day get so confusing on how to transfer music from my Mac to the phone. The quick run down: i have an old iMac. I want to get some of the music off of that computer and onto my phone. The old iMac does not recognize my new phone anymore. So I added the iTunes library to an external HD then imported the music to my 2020 MBP. I plugged in my phone and now want to add that music. I selected "Sync music onto Phone" and chose "selected artists, albums, genres, and playlists" option. My huge question: will syncing just this one artist ERASE all the other music on my phone? Or just add that one artists? If it makes a difference, the tracks I want to add are .aif files. Any help would be great before I lick the Apply button, lol Thank you! [link] [comments] | ||

He hasn't really used it in a long time). He has a large library of MP3s on his pc, and he would like to have easy access to those on his new phone. | iMessage/FaceTime Activation Failure Posted: 27 Jan 2022 10:19 AM PST How do I fix this? Recently bought a 13 Pro transferred all data. Wiped old phone and can not use my number for iMessage/FaceTime. I've tried shutting them off, logging out of iCloud, rebooting and logging back in and turning them back on. Apple Support couldn't help. Suggested I contact my carrier to see if I have SMS, which I do and told them. Is there a real known workaround for this issue? Many many thanks. [link] [comments] | ||
| I really wish Apple would let us utilize the telephoto lens all the time Posted: 26 Jan 2022 06:46 PM PST I was playing around with the camera this evening, trying to take a sunset picture through the blinds with the telephoto lens, but my iPhone kept switching between the cropped 1x and actual 3x. It could not decide which to use. It's super frustrating that this is still an issue. There should be an option for this, similar to how macro is now. | Posted: 26 Jan 2022 02:02 PM PST Magsafe is a great feature of iPhone. Magsafe is also its own worst enemy. Let me explain. Magsafe provides a great way to charge your iPhone. But after almost a full year of using Magsafe charging with both Apple and non-apple Magsafe charger, I've come to the realization that Magsafe charging does a lot of damage to battery health, and in turn, to battery life. My 12 Pro Max after about 10 months of almost exclusive Magsafe charging, by battery health was down to 86% battery life. This is simply unacceptable. At six months I was alarmed that I was already at 92%, but thought this perhaps was a fluke. Nope! I don't recharge or top off my iPhone like some do either. I used my Applecare Plus to switch out my iPhone at almost one year old when it hit 86% battery health, and six months later, my replacement Pro Max without using Magsafe or even wireless charging, the Pro Max still at 100%. Could this have been the battery in my original Pro Max? Maybe. Is this deterioration an inherent characteristic of using wireless charging? Perhaps. But I've used wireless charging before and didn't see my battery deteriorate the way my 12 Pro Max battery did while using Magsafe. I've all but stopped using Magsafe for charging, although I do use the Magsafe wallet, vent mounts, and other non-power Magsafe accessories. I loved the convenience of a cord-free charging experience, and love the concept of wireless charging. But I'm not willing to sacrifice battery life (less time between needed charging) for this convenience. [link] [comments] | ||

Every time I had to get a close look at something, which is a lot, the zoom only worked 20 percent of the time, then when it finally worked it would get stuck zoomed in with me pinching and flailing to get it to work again. I kept waiting for the fix with each update only to be let down. Now finally it is fixed!! Thank you software wizards! [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 27 Jan 2022 04:40 AM PST a friend's father got locked out of his iphone after entering the passcode incorrectly (he recently got in a accident, he's in rehab and trying to get in contact with customers/clients not to loose any work), he didn't know the phone would eventually lock him out (I don't know how he got to the point of reentering the passcode, maybe the phone battery died to 0% while not in use and had to reenter it). After a while we found the missing information: the phone code, alas useless… the phone was listed in the person's icloud anyway (obviously he also didn't remember his credentials, but after a while he was able to find em so we got in), but in the cloud there were no signs of any sync (calendars, contacts…) and no backup was available on any computer so it was impossible to retrieve his contacts informations: the only solution, as stated also by an Apple support operator, was to connect to a mac and reinitialize the phone to have it working again (losing everything). after a bit of disappointment, the man decided to just have the phone initialized, eventually he'd build up the contacts list again (and make some backups, too): so the phone got connected to my friend's MacBook and in that moment he was presented with a screen telling him that a software update was available: "do you want to update or restore the phone?" so my friend just updated the system and at the end the phone restarted asking for the passcode (which at the moment he knew gain); he inserted it and the phone rejected it locking him out again for one hour, but at the second try he got in and the phone displayed something along the lines of "attempting to recover data" (it's in italian so dunno what would it be in eng), at the end the passcode screen promted him to reenter the passcode and as he did he was in, the phone was available in its full glory of data. does this even make sense? we (us and Apple support) thought everything was gone for good, but apparently not.
