    AppleTV glitch. When I open an app or close it, it seems to disconnect for a second and the screen goes black. It’s quite annoying. It used to be a smooth transition. Any fix to this?

    Hi everyone,

    I have a strange problem thats bugging me for a while now. I really hope someone can point me in the right direction because this is driving me crazy...

    The problem is that some videos tend to flicker in fullscreen. Here is a recording of the effect (I hope it's still noticable after compression):

    It affects mostly streaming sites like youtube, netflix, twitch, etc. but I think it also happened once ot twice while watching something on tv+ through the native app. It tends to get really bad if there are subtitles but also happens without them.

    What I find really strange is that the flickering starts randomly. Given the video above, it could start right at the beginning but skipping back and forth a few seconds and watching the exact same part again, the flickering could be gone. The "could" is intentional here because sometimes it just keeps flickering.

    I tried every possible solution I could find for problems that even remotely seemed to be related to this issue (except a fresh install - I really want to avoid that) but nothing helped.

    What I did so far:

    • reset of smc, nvram, pram
    • use a fresh profile
    • boot into safe mode and disable as much stuff as possible
    • disable every browser extension (safari)
    • use other browsers (FF, Chrome, Edge)
    • change size of cursor and back (this one seems to help for a while but flicker starts again after some time)

    I intentionally didn't disable stuff like night mode or true tone because I love those features and want to keep them. And to be quite frank: those are standard features so they have to work.

    I'm using a MBP 13 from 2020 with a 2.3Ghz i7, 32GB of RAM and integrated Intel Iris graphics. The problem started occuring some months after I got this machine and persisted since then. Currently running Monterey 12.1 but it also happened with Big Sur.

    As a side note: this only happens in MacOS. Windows via Bootcamp is not affected so I'm ruling out a hardware defect.

    Hi. I'm using a WiFi extender in my home and underneath the name of it, it says 'Privacy Warning'. I've checked and "Private WiFi Address" is already enabled. I've tried turning it off and back on, and disconnecting and reconnecting. Just wanna make sure it's private - any ideas?

    Lyrics on iPhone in Apple Music trouble

    Bare with me. I added lyrics manually to several songs in Music via my Mac mini. By that I mean I right clicked on songs > Get Info and then added the lyrics copied from the internet. When I go to my phone after syncing some of the songs now have the "custom lyrics" but many do not. Very frustrating. What might it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Several videos of mine have gone missing and whenever I click on info, this appears: (first photo). Then, when I go onto iCloud.com, this appears: (second photo). Any ideas on how to recover?

    Easy to transfer from iphone 6 (latest iOS 12.5.5) to iPhone 13

    I usually have gone to the Apple Store to buy so they can do the transfer for me. However, they are out of stock of the one I want so I'm thinking of ordering my new iPhone 13.

    Will I be able to transfer my date from the 6 to 13 on my own? What will I need to do? I am ok with tech but feeling nervous that I can't do the transfer at home....

    Apple ID recovery methods

    Hey all, I've just bought my first apple device in 7 years and I've forgot the password to my apple ID. the recovery phone number attached to the apple ID is also no longer active. does anyone know what my next steps are? I've been trying to fill out a review request but I can't find a link for that.

    Offline movie rental, "This video can't be played"

    Last month I had a train trip and rented two movies through iTunes; one for each direction. I downloaded both to my iPad Pro.

    On the way there, I was connected to the train's wifi and had no trouble watching the movie.

    On the way back, the train's wifi was down so I was completely offline. This time I was unable to play and kept getting the error "This video can't be played because you don't have access to it or it's no longer available".

    I filed a support ticket and got my money back but I never was able to find out why this happened. I thought the whole point of downloading rented movies was so I could watch them offline. But admittedly I don't use iTunes for this very often so I might be misinformed.

    I have a long flight coming up and I'd hate to run into the same issue again. Any idea what's going on here?

    MacBook air SD reader only recognised after reboot

    13 inch mid 2012 Catalina 10.15.7

    Every time I wish to transfer material from my camera's micro sd (using a generic micro sd to sd adapter), utilising the built in sd-card reader, I have to reboot the computer for the card to turn up in finder. I insert it, wait (doesn't matter how long), nothing. Leave the card in, reboot, boom - there it is. What's up with this? Is there a fix? I hope the issue is clear, not native english speaker.

    MacOS 12.1 DNS issues

    What's with the DNS issues on monterey? Having absolutely horrific DNS problems that's affecting my job.

    From issues of the DNS socket just dying to weird caching issues.

    Randomly DNS will fail and nslookup will give me a isc_socket_bind address not available error. Other times, caching will take over and not even directly querying a DNS server will result in the correct info. For instance, I just deleted some A records and created some CNAMEs and yet dig is serving me a stale A record with a valid TTL that's decrementing. I check with my VM and I get the correct CNAME record.

    If I query a DNS server directly with dig @dns.server hostname.of.box I get the same stale record!

    If I run 'sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder' I still get the same shit.

    If I run both a wired and wireless connection with the service order setting either one as primary I get SERVFAIL responses. It's only if I use one or the other does it work, and that's assuming I don't hit one of the other bugs?

    I really want to downgrade because this affecting my work quite a bit. I'm a network engineer and I rely heavily on DNS and I need it to work correctly.

    Thoughts? Fixes? Can I downgrade? What's the process for that? I'm just about done with this release.

    How to passthrough optical audio from an M1 Mac mini to a DTS receiver?

    I have a 2021 M1 Mac mini and I need for to get optical audio from the computer to a receiver. My previous Mac mini had built-in optical audio support incorporated into the ⅛" jack so the signal could passthrough. How do I do the same thing with my new computer?

    I dropped my IphoneX when it had battery and it turned off now I its stuck on the red charging screen and it wont turn back on

    Random emergency message being played

    1:25 am (GMT +8), I was scrolling YouTube and doing normal late night stuff. Was scrolling through previews of videos when suddenly the phone dial tone plays. I was not given an option to accept any calls, and the history of this message was not recorded in the call logs. I thought it was one of the video previews but I had my volume set to 0. The message proceeds to say something about an "Apple Watch" and an "emergency" with some mention of an owner. (I was scared and confused at this point) My family is in possession of 1 Apple Watch but my family is asleep. What is going on??

    Is AppleCare+ worth it?

    I run a small business and we all use MacBook Pros or Airs.

    I'm debating whether to continue buying AppleCare+ with every purchase. My sense is that if Apple sells it, they must be making money on it, and the consumer must be paying that money...

    What're your opinions?

    MacBook order stuck on processing despite arrival 26-28th

    My apple order has been stuck on processing ever since I ordered it, which is apparently normal, but I've never seen cases where it was still stuck on processing this close to delivery. It's due to arrive the 26-28th and it's the 24th right now but still on processing. I do have expedited shipping, so maybe that's why?? Any advice? Should I contact support?

    iMessage issues

    hey everyone, when I try to imessage certain contacts, it goes through perfectly, but when I try to message other contacts who are also iPhone users, it goes through as green bubbles. This happened ever since I updated to 15.2.1 last night. I also just got this phone and it is the 13pro. Does anyone know if this is a bug or if anyone else is having this issue?

    AirPods Max connection problem?

    After using Geforce Now, only the right ear cup on my AirPods Max works. If I connect the AirPods Max to my mobile phone and play music there, both work again. After a direct restart on the Mac, the problem is still not solved. However, if I wait a night or a longer time, the problem will be solved by itself.

    Is there any known bug in the current MacOS via the Bluetooth connection?
