    I posted a while back asking why, after upgrading to iOS 15, my iPhone 12 Pro started to autocorrect the number "30" to "3.0", without any specific change in my typing habits, no relevant auto-replacements in my keyboard dictionary, or other reasonable explanations. I was told it is an "iOS bug" and there was nothing I could do. I reset my dictionaries, rebooted the phone, updated to 15.1.1. Nothing fixed it. Typing "4:30" in a text message or anywhere else would result in "4:3.0" Saying "I'll be there in 30 minutes" resulted in "I'll be there in 3.0 minutes" if I didn't proofread the message carefully. People thought I was losing my mind.

    I discovered the source: The problem was an app I had installed. It is a medical app, and has no specific keyboard, language, or iOS utility. It is a medical reference text. Its name is unimportant, but the app title included a version number: 3.0

    Reading elsewhere online, I discovered that iOS adds all app titles to the custom dictionary, and autocorrect was then helpfully fixing "30" to change it to "3.0" like the app's title. I deleted the app - and I didn't even have to reset the custom dictionary - and the autocorrect problem stopped immediately. Hopefully this helps someone else who is losing their mind with this problem.

    App developers: DO NOT include version numbers in the titles of your apps. It looks amateur and confuses the autocorrect system in iOS.

    I just got the 13 Pro Max and it's my first time ever charging my iphone with USB-C. USB-C charges my phone wayyy faster versus the old iPhone charger. My question is, will my battery life remain the same or go down?USB-C charges my phone very quickly, but are there any downsides to it? Thanks.

    I find it hard to believe that a company with so many smart people said "less customization, functionality, and user control is a good idea." So, there's gotta be some setting I'm missing and Google results isn't putting out like it used to.

    I've tried the accessibility settings. Those didn't work.

    Can't restore encrypted backup

    Hello

    Made a new encrypted backup of an iPhone 8 Plus running 15.1 using Finder on Macbook Pro M1 Pro running MacOS 12.0.1. The encryption password was not changed, and the same PW has been used for years on previous versions of MacOS.

    Erased iPhone 8 Plus (256GB), traded in for new iPhone 13 Mini (256GB).

    Cannot restore this backup to iPhone 13 Mini running 15.1.1. I start the process via Finder, and then enter the encryption password. Finder erases the phone, and then stalls- and does nothing. Will not restore data to phone.

    I tested restoring a different backup to the iPhone 13 mini (using the same Mac), and that works fine. This leads me to believe there's something wrong with the backup- however there are no indications that it's corrupt. The backup file is present in Finder under "Manage Backups", and the files themselves are present under /Users/username/Library/Application Support/MobileSync (96k+ files; 133GB+) .

    Have scoured the internet in search of a solution, but no luck so far. Might try apple support next. Please help. TIA

    Too many incorrect password entries disabled phone

    In the situation where a locked iPhone becomes disabled by entering the wrong password too many times the phone can be factory reset using iTunes. The phone can be restored from a backup but the iCloud ID and password registered to that device would be needed. Fair enough. But does iOS by default backup the iPhone to iCloud or the computer before it does the reset of the phone so that there will be at least one backup available from which to restore?

    Ive had the phone for about 2 to 3 weeks and had no issues. As the title says my iphone randomly restarted and when I signed back in everything was deleted including my contacts. Ive also tried using phonerescue and ULTFone and still had no luck.

    Is there any way to get them back or am I fucked?

    Spring boarding issue

    I have an iPhone XR on iOS 15.1. Starting the last 2 days the phone has randomly gone to a black screen with a spinning wheel before eventually going to Lock Screen. It happens a lot when going to home. This seems like the springboard crashing but I have not jailbroken the phone. Phone says storage full at 63.9 GB but it was a backup from an old phone that 61 gb but I thought the storage issue was fixed.

    I have tried restarting, force restarting, resetting all settings, and resetting safari data. I have not completely erased the phone yet, any ideas?

    Hi everyone, I've been having a lot of problems with my iPhone 7G recently. It's a black 128gb if it matters. I had it for around a year and a half, and it was owned for maybe a year or two before me. I had no major issues with it before a couple months ago where those problems started appearing:

    -Microphone not working for all apps

    -Unable to take photos or videos on the Camera app, but it kind of works on Instagram

    -Unable to respond to calls. The first time someone calls me, I only hear the ringtone and the vibration. The following times, I can respond but there's no sound from both sides. I can't hear them, and they can't hear me.

    -Instagram app crashes when trying to record a voice message

    Important to note is that everything seems to fix itself for around 20 minutes once I restart the cellphone completely. When I updated it to IOS 15, everything was working perfectly for an entire day, and I thought that I was done with the problems, but they all came back so it's probably a software issue.

    If someone has any idea on how to fix this, it would be really appreciated. It's a major issue, especially when I need to call someone.

    I’m thinking of getting a Apple refurbished XR, and a new XR which one should I get?

    The refurbished one is 128GB and costs less, but I'm not sure if I want to risk it being damaged inside since it's used. The new one is 64GB but costs more but then again it's new. Which one would you recommend? Thank you and have a good day?

    Help with Apple Maps

    My touchscreen ( IPhone 11) freezes for a few days then starts working again, need help!

    I got an IPhone 11 and sometimes when it goes off after low battery, I charge it but then the touchscreen freezes. I can't even restart it using the buttons on the side. If I do that, it would immediately connect to the ambulance. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that my screen got replaced a few weeks ago. But if this screen is still damaged after repair, why does it then work after a few days. I been waiting for my phone to charge and as soon as it goes back on it would work again. But after 5 tries over 3 days. Any explanation for this phenomenon?

    My alarm doesn’t go off? Every now and again my alarm goes off like 1.5 hours after it’s supposed to. At first I thought I just wasn’t waking up to the sound of the alarm but I watched it not go off at 5 am when I set it. I have an iPhone X please help.
