| iPhone shut down while on the charger Posted: 25 Dec 2021 05:46 AM PST Last night, my phone was under 10% battery when I plugged it in next to my bed as always. I had an alarm set. I woke up 15 minutes after that time, no alarm had gone off, and found the phone still plugged in but turned off. I unplugged and replugged it, and it immediately brought up the apple logo and was up and running quickly like a usual power cycle. I thought the battery must be nearly dead but it was fully charged. I thought the phones were always on when plugged into power. Is it possible it shut down shortly after I plugged it in, but still managed to charge? I'm really concerned this will happen on a work day. Iphone SE 2020, just updated to 15.2. Purchased new from Apple shortly after the model was available. Battery health is 84% and Optimized Charging is on. I haven't tried anything because I don't really have a way to test this. I will clean out the charger port and maybe replace the cable if it looks at all damaged. Anything else? [link] [comments] | ||

On my backup, I have deselected a ton of apps and only have about 2 gigs of app data on the backup set up. However, my phone is saying i have 12.57 gigs. I watched a bunch of videos on YouTube and it says that i should connect my iphone in pc or mac to update or restore it. I tried it several times and it worked. But after a week while using my camera my phone suddenly shuts down and got stuck again in reboot loop i tried connecting it again to itunes to restore and there's no error occurring while restoring it but after it got restored it is stuck again. | Battery during less OVERNIGHT. Posted: 25 Dec 2021 03:34 AM PST So, my history goes like this. Until recently I had an iPhone 7 plus. Lately it wasn't functioning that properly anymore. I was disappointed about the quality of the camera, the phone was crashing now and then and mainly the battery was running out pretty fast. I had the phone for 5 years, so no big deal here. So late October I decided to change it for an IPhone 11. (The best I could afford in my country). The difference was huge and I was very happy. My pictures got much better, no more crashing apps, and my battery was lasting for almost a day and a half. I knew it wasn't going to be like this forever, so I wasn't surprised when after the initial days, my battery started to last a bit less. Still I only had to charge it once a day, so I was pretty satisfied. But now, all of a sudden, my phone started to run out of battery by the afternoon. One day the battery was lasting till 9:30-10pm, on the other, it started to last until 4:00-5:00pm. I knew this would happen eventually, but is it normal to happen overnight? I totally can notice the difference. Is there something I could do to reverse this or at least to delay this inevitable fate of having to charge the phone sonner and sonner as time goes by? The only thing that brings me a little comfort is that I also bought that new charger, the one that charges the battery pretty fast. But that doesn't change the fact that my phone started to last 5 hours less suddenly. Notice that by the time that this happened, I had the phone for approximately 9 weeks. Thank you all. It had a poor battery, not sure what else could be compromised. A friend sent me a similar iPhone 6 S, that is disabled. He's tried getting it to work for a bit. Bricked. Posted: 24 Dec 2021 11:27 PM PST My iPhone XS Max is stuck on the spinning wheel screen and it stays that way despite many attempts to reset it with the volume +/- and power buttons. The Apple logo appears and then after a while my lock screen, but once I enter my passcode the spinning wheel immediately appears again and the cycle starts over. Before the spinning wheel appeared for the first time, I noticed the apps on my home screen weren't visible. I could tap on the blank spaces but they weren't responsive. Now it's going back and forth between the Apple logo and my lock screen/spinning wheel. I tried to log into my iCloud but I can't access the authentication code via text because I can't unlock the phone without the spinning wheel appearing. I have no idea what to do. iTunes is not recognizing the phone; I've never used iTunes. Any advice would be hugely appreciated! Edit: My device's storage is full. This may be causing the issue. I just don't know how I can get into the phone to clear up space if I can't get past the lock screen and iTunes won't recognize the device. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 24 Dec 2021 09:40 PM PST Settings>General>iPhone Storage>Messages>3GB of "Top Conversations" and about 1.4GB of photo and video attachments combined. When I check Settings>Apple ID>iCloud>Manage Storage>Messages, it says 1.3GB stored. when I click to review the conversations/content, there's literally zero conversations or content displayed despite the Messages switch being turned on/green. | [Question] Error During Restore Posted: 24 Dec 2021 09:15 PM PST So my iPhone 13 Pro wiped itself during an update and said it needs to be restored. I set it into recovery mode and then went through the steps to restore it on itunes. then it says unknown error, giving me the code 4010. it tells me to go to apple's website, which doesn't list 4010 as an error. I don't want to turn autocorrect on, but sometimes I am typing something and it tries to correct it to something that is actually wrong. So I click on the bubble suggestion, and more specifically on the X next to it... and it just takes the suggestion! And if I just ignore the bubble and keep typing... it takes the suggestion! And if I backspace and correct it, it suggests the same thing again. It has made it basically impossible to type certain words that the iphone think is wrong. [link] [comments] | ||

I downloaded the new iOS for ~30 minutes but then a message poped up on my phone that said the installation had failed. So i wanted to re-try to update my iOS, but for some reason i didn't have enough free-space on my phone; so i went to check how much free-space i had on my phone and i, for some reason, only had ~290MG of free space on my phone. After seeing how little free-space i had left; i deleted 2 apps and every photo on my phone but that didn't help. In fact, i lost even MORE free-space after deleting my photos and apps. I'd like this to be a quick access thing. I thought there was a right swipe from the home screen, but that brings up a search and that search only has a few apps in it, like Chrome. | Hide My Do Not Distrub Status in Text Messages XS Max iOS 15.1 Posted: 24 Dec 2021 03:31 PM PST I can't find any way to prevent the notice that I've turned on do not disturb (or "focus" in the newest Apple parlance) to people texting me. I didn't know that "notice" appeared until my friend turned on her do not disturb and I clearly saw she set her phone to do not disturb. I'm surprised Apple deems it appropriate to broadcast my phone is set to do not disturb. I want to appear "off the grid" while actually not off the grid to everyone but my elderly mom who I want to be able to call and text me for emergencies (yes, I set her as an "allowed notification") There must be a method to hide from people texting me my status but I can't find it.
