Posted: 17 Nov 2021 01:52 AM PST Hi all, I just bought a new iPhone 13 mini, an upgrade from my previous 11, and I'm experiencing a lot of weird intermittent touch issues here and there when I'm just trying to use it. The screen wouldn't respond to my touch, and I find myself having to click a button in an app or a notification 2 or 3 more times before it actually registers my click. It's not that the phone or the app is lagging, but rather the phone itself is unresponsive and physically won't respond to my touch. I'm on iOS 15.1, have tried restoring it using an ipsw file, problem still persists. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing or did I just happen to get a faulty unit? [link] [comments] | ||

I am a big fan of AirDrop and being able to quickly send files and links back and forth between my iPhone and iPad. Meanwhile, it bothers me not to have an alternative available for my laptop. It's not uncommon for me to send files and documents back and forth between my iPad and my laptop, and so far I've been using my own mail (so I just send myself an email and then open it on the other device). I have already tried all the app options that promise easy transfer between iOs and Windows and have always been disappointed so far. | Settings crashes after trying to view storage Posted: 17 Nov 2021 01:09 AM PST Every time i try to check my storage i just get "calculating storage" loading for about 10 minutes and then my app crashes. I've tried restarting my phone and saw someone online suggest restarting it in airplane mode. I was able to load it once after restarting then but now it's back to crashing. Posted: 16 Nov 2021 06:50 PM PST WhatsApp: on the share function the corner buttons such as close and resize are way out of the screen, almost on the same level of the notch. You have to tap on the very edge of the button for it to work. Pain in the ass and has been like this for a long time. If they wanted to fix they could have done it already. I just used Gympass and it has the same problem. The X button is almost above the battery icon. Anyone discussed before this issue? Is my conclusion of it correct? [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 16 Nov 2021 03:31 PM PST Just got the phone in the mail, I got him a model that worked best for me. I made sure he'd ask T-Mobile if he was able to switch the SIM on another iPhone (since I had an issue with a locked SIM before). Right now, the phone turns on service and sometimes it doesn't. There were some exceptions like being able to text with no service but it can't call right now. I have no idea what is up with it because this didn't happen with me on my new phone. | Notes not syncing on iPhone and iPad Posted: 16 Nov 2021 11:02 PM PST I have a 2020 Macbook Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad Pro 2019 all running the latest OS. However I have noted that both the iPhone and iPad are not syncing all my notes. On the MacBook Pro and in iCloud(web) I have 344 notes all on the iCloud account but I am only getting around 140 notes getting synced on the iPad and iPhone. I have logged out, restarted then logged back into iCloud on all the three devices but its only the MacBook that is completely syncing all the 344 notes. | iPhone unlocks with face other than it’s owner Posted: 16 Nov 2021 10:17 PM PST So in two different cases I saw two iPhones unlock with Face ID with faces other than their owners. In one case it's one iPhone of one co-worker who's iPhone unlocked when another person tried to hand it over to him from the table it was sitting on, and when that other person turned his face to the screen the iPhone unlocked.. The other case was just last night when my wife's iPhone unlocked with her sisters face when her sister tried to pass the phone to my wife and the exact same thing happened for the second time.. my wife and my sister DO NOT LOOK ALIKE , as my wife's sister is younger , they have a significant weight difference that also applies to the face area , and they have totally different face shape and marks.. the first time I saw this I didn't pay attention, even when my co-workers discussed this between them in a humorous way.. but last night my wife was upset about it as she is sensitive with her personal data and so I decided to search to see if it happened to anyone else.. | Transfer icloud backup to new device Posted: 16 Nov 2021 04:59 PM PST Got a new iPhone 12 from work to replace my broken (but semi functional) 8plus. I decided to do a direct transfer instead of doing it through icloud. Now I seem to be stuck with a nearly full icloud backup of the old device and I keep getting messages of a full icloud and an inability to backup the new phone. As it is a work device, I don't own it and my appleID is setup through the company, I won't be upgrading my to additional storage . Is there a way to transfer this backup data to be associated with the new device? It's my understanding that ios doesn't store much on the actual phone. If I simply delete the icloud backup for the old device will everything (contacts, photos etc) be lost? I've only had the new phone a few days- should I just wipe it and redo the setup process and transfer through icloud instead? [link] [comments] | ||

| App storage is high with almost no apps Posted: 16 Nov 2021 06:12 PM PST My phone storage is low and it shows my apps taking up a lot but the actual calculated storage looks really low. I have read that this is due to app caches but I have literally deleted everything except messages and photos pretty much. I did a hard reset also. In 1/2 a year I will be back in a position to get a newer iphone, but unfortunately for now I am broke and have an Iphone 7 that is just taking a dump. I have repaired many iphones and various things throughout my life so I am not afraid to do some work. My iphone has began lagging, crashing apps often, taking 15 seconds at times to respond to my typing on the keyboard, dying at up to 25% or more if it is cold, the battery lasting very short, etc. I was wondering, would replacing the battery and clearing storage (which is almost full) and maybe even wiping it to original factory settings buy me another 1/2 year of decent iphone function? Or maybe would anyone reccomend anything else? Thank you so much! [link] [comments] | ||
