| Dungeon crawler similar to Lootbox RPG but with better graphics/mechanics? No rogue-likes Posted: 02 Nov 2021 06:58 PM PDT I tried Lootbox RPG (which went free) and while a good game, I'm not a fan of the really minimalist graphics/complete lack of animations, lack of engaging combat (tap tap with fixed % to land a hit until one side is dead), and unbalanced stats (oneshot enemies in one floor, and get oneshot the next floor). I was wondering if there are other very similar dungeon crawler RPGs (levels, gear, stats), non rogue-like (rogue-lite is fine, I need permanent progress in the game), but with better graphics/animations and mechanics? I'm fine with retro/pixelated graphics (eg Dead Cells) as long as it's at least animated and polished. No first person dungeon crawlers please, those give me a headache. | Lokoing for a GOOD space dogfighting game. Posted: 02 Nov 2021 10:34 AM PDT I'm obsessed with spaceship games, so I've played almost every single spaceship game that's out there. The all-time king of spaceship combat games is hands-down Galaxy on Fire 2. But there for a while, there was a sequel called Galaxy on Fire 3: Manticore. While that game sucked as a sequel, it was a top-notch dogfighting game. But then it died and they pulled it. There aren't many left. Strikeforce: Raptor Rising is okay, but it's a little too retro looking. I beat and completed all the challenges and upgrades in Subdivision Infinity. Same with Project Charon. I maxed everything out and beat that game, too. Space Jet: War Galaxy Machines is good, but it won't let me sync my email or save my profile so every time there's an update, my progress gets wiped out. Stellar Wanderer, something about that game just doesn't do it for me. I've wanted to like it, but I just can't. It's why I prefer Strikeforce: Raptor Rising instead. Vendetta Online sucks with my phone and I can't find a controller I like to use it with. While it wasn't sci fi, War Wings was freaking amazing and I don't know why they cancelled it, too. Beyond Space Remastered, I maxed everything out and beat it, too. Same with the on-the-rails Star Horizon. So basically the only game that's left is Dakka Squadron. But even it has clunky mechanics that aren't as smooth as GoF 3 Manticore. Basically this is a lot of hemming and hawing to ask if there's a good, flashy, fun, good-looking space dogfighting game out there than I haven't mentioned or played yet? My app store searches are showing up the same stuff over and over and over again. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Is it possible to search within Apple Arcade? Posted: 02 Nov 2021 10:47 AM PDT I want to download a nonogram game for my iPad, and I have an Apple Arcade subscription. I want to be able to search specifically within AA for a nonogram, as I've found almost all non-AA games in the App Store are loaded with unskippable ads for bullshit. But I can't figure out how to filter the search function to only show me AA games. What's the deal? This seems like it'd be so simple. I'd be happy for nonogram game recommendations of course, but I'd love to be able to search for tower defense, RTS, or whatever else I'd like without having to sift through what Apple has curated.
