Does “unlock with Apple Watch” still not work for people even on WatchOS 8.1 and iOS 15.1? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 05:36 AM PDT I feel like this feature is 50/50 whether it will work even after Apple saying that it was "fixed". And sometimes it won't even attempt to unlock with my watch unless I reset my phone and watch both. Anyone else having these issues still? Even when completely up to date. Edit: Just for reference I'm trying to use the feature with a 13 Pro and series 7 Watch and after having both on for ~24 hours I have to completely shut down both devices to restart them and get the feature functional again. How do I automatically enable Do not disturb during a workout on Apple Watch? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 05:56 AM PDT Hi, until iOS 14.x and WatchOS 7.x it was easy to automatically set "Do not disturb" during a Workout on Apple Watch. Here are a couple of examples: - https://www.howtogeek.com/711255/how-to-enable-do-not-disturb-during-workouts-on-apple-watch/ - https://osxdaily.com/2021/09/18/enable-workout-do-not-disturb-apple-watch/ But with iOS 15.x and the introduction of "Focus Mode" this option seems to be gone. How do I automatically set Do not disturb when I'm working out? p.s: in case I'm working out with Fitness+ I can set an automation to set it while I use Fitness app but if I'm not using the app I can't set the automation. Elevated heat rate = Exercise? Can you change the threshold? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:17 AM PDT Series 6 Watch with Cellular, version 8.1. To start off, I'm on medication that affects my heart rate, keeping it low. I used to have a 100-110 resting rate (unhealthy, I know, I'm working on it). Now it sits at 60-70. I have the watch calibrated to note this, but since doing so, it seems… too easy to get exercise on the watch. I check the daily BPM app, and I'll see that I'll get exercise minutes claimed for "elevated minutes". But… a lot of it is not what I'd consider "elevated" at all, physically I'm not doing much. 80 isn't that high. And… the last time it went super elevated was a migraine storm, not exactly fair either. Though if I turn off the medication option, I'll never get a single minute because my heart doesn't go anywhere near the required 120 BPM with these meds unless I'm like… full out running. Is there an option to change the threshold so I can fairly get my minutes through the day? I don't like getting 60+ minutes freebie's a day just by doing my job. [link] [comments]
Running/Fitness apps that have "always on" activated Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:01 AM PDT So a few people use running / fitness apps and I have tested a few that have "always on" some work and some don't. You can check status of Always On for Apple Watch on OS8 in Watch OS app - display and brightness - always on - toggle apps what you want as always on App's that have always on activated and it works below. Nike Running Club (newly updated yesterday) this worked perfect on testing today. App's where always on but doesn't work properly, i.e live stats pace/time/hr etc do not refresh every second, they either freeze until wrist raise or refresh every minute are below iSmoothrun (dev says this is fixed next update) Not sure if this helps anyone but it's always handy if fancy a change of all. The apps I hope eventually get it sorted and working 100% would be WorkOutdoors, iSmoothrun and Stryd. Feel free to add any Running or fitness/strength apps that have implemented it properly or not properly. [link] [comments]

beginner runner - AW audio coach? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:54 AM PDT Hi All, I'm a first time AW user, and have decided to start running. Are there any AW apps you'd recommend that would tell me (AirPods Pro) when to run, when to jog, whether I should run faster, slower, etc. based on my HR? ;) or any AW "coach" that would guid the first-time/beginner runner in how to do it best? Of course, would be best if the workout was automatically added to Apple Fitness/Health tracker. Any recommendations? [link] [comments]

How to stop ‘Tips’ on the Apple Watch series 7? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:49 AM PDT I have already set Notifications->tips to not show up. But I still see them on my watch. Did I miss a specific setting somewhere? [link] [comments]

Music stops playing for every km hit during walking workout. Suggestions to fix? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:03 AM PDT Recently I've been having an issue where when doing an outdoor walk workout, as soon as I reach a kilometre my music pauses. I press play again and then it pauses again at the next kilometre. Auto pause is turned off in my settings, even though that shouldn't work. I'm using AirPods to listen to my music. I can't seem to find anything else in my settings. Has anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions? [link] [comments]
AutoSleep App seems inaccurate since watch updates? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 03:57 AM PDT Over the past few weeks, since around the time of the new watch releases and watch os "upgrades," my AutoSleep app results seem completely inaccurate. Calories burned and exercise minutes also seem easier but that's less annoying 😂 Has anyone else experienced this and if so is there a fix? [link] [comments]

Question about “traditional strength training” Posted: 04 Nov 2021 07:23 AM PDT Sorry if this is the wrong place for the question, just let me know. When I lift, I feel like I take longer in between reps than most, so I wasn't sure if I should use the traditional strength training workout option, as it can be like +45 minutes to my exercise ring. Anyone know if it's supposed to be like that? Or is this not the correct usage [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:46 AM PDT I have a series 3 watch that had a failed upgrade and bricked the device. Is there a way of someone repairing the device? I rather not spend £150 to Apple for them to swap it when it was a OS install failure. Any advice would be warmly received. [link] [comments]
Turn off calorie burn estimates but not activity tracking? Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:37 AM PDT Hello, I'm trying to figure out a way to turn off my Apple Watch calorie tracking, but not activity tracking all together. I am in recovery from an eating disorder and the pink ring is not helpful for me. I would still like to work towards other goals of standing up more throughout the day and exercising regularly, so I'd like to keep the blue and green rings still. Does anyone know if there's a way to do this? [link] [comments] |
