    No transparency option in YouTube.

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:10 PM PDT

The last update on that app was in June and my box didn't have an update recently. YouTube had transparency yesterday but now it's just opaque with no option to change it.

I got an apple tv 4k with two homepod mini, does that mean I don’t need a smart tv?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 07:33 AM PDT

To put things in context, currently I am rocking old 45 inch tv with no smart feature+apple tv+homepod mini as speakers and looking to upgrade tv. Does this mean I can overlook any smart feature that tv offers and just get a no frill 65"? I wonder does such thing even exist….

    Thank you!

Edit: Thank you all for all the great response! I can't reply all of them, but I really appreciate all your input and great comments!

What’s the best way to mirror/stream the iPhone camera to Apple TV

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 10:10 PM PDT

Hey. I want to mirror/stream my iPhone camera to the Apple TV while recording a video. What's the best way to do that? Just simply mirror the iPhone display or is there a better way to archive higher quality? Thanks

    Apple TV+ Expired September 2022

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 11:40 AM PDT

So here's a weird one that has baffled even Apple, they are investigating it.

I received an email from Apple stating my card had expired so they couldn't take payment. I went to check my Apple TV subscription and it says Expired September next year. Apple TV+ still works. I had bought several iPhones this year so assumed I had a free trial or whatever.

Anyone else had this happen? According to Apple it has expired, my phone says it expired next year, either way it still works

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 02:42 PM PDT

Apple TV just auto-updated to 15.1.1 and now my Panasonic TV remote no longer controls the Apple TV. Anyone else seeing 15.1.1 break HDMI-CEC?

HBO Max and Hulu Issue with 2021 4k Apple TV

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 09:09 AM PDT

I recently purchased a 2021 Apple 4k TV to go along with my new LG G1 OLED. I got it due to what I've read about the quality of the UI, how fast apps load, and because I'm neck deep in Apple's ecosystem. I'm having a rather frustrating issue though. When I try to play 4k content within Hulu or HBO Max, I get an error saying "This video can't be played. It looks like your HDMI cable or connection doesn't support HDCP, which is required to play this type of video. Try reconnecting the HDMI cable from Apple TV to your TV, and play this video again," or I'll just see a black screen and hear the audio. I can play SD content in these two apps just fine.

My current video format is 4k SDR at 59.94Hz. Chroma is 4:4:4. I checked my hdmi connection in settings and I got a message saying "Your HDMI connection looks good." I have no issue running Dolby Vision/4k/hdr content in Disney plus, Netflix, and YouTube.

I'm using a Belkin 4K ultra high speed 2.1 hdmi cable recommended by Apple, plugged into my TV's hdmi port. I'm using a hardwired ethernet connection.

Any idea what the issue can be? I want to love this device but if I can't properly play UHD content, it's not worth keeping.
